Happy Words

scrabble-like word game for local or online multiplayer, bots available if you have nobody to play with. rules are explained, there's an optional tutorial, a bunch of languages and some customization (ai difficulty, number of tiles, optional time limit, dictionary, joker tile, etc.), but it [b]looks and works like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ mobile game[/b] and even the dumbest ai uses the most obscure words all the time. there's only a 15x15 board in a few colors, no volume settings, only [b]buggy on/off toggles[/b] that don't actually get rid of all the sfx and they're only available while playing, not in the menu. no resolutions, only a [b]buggy resizable windowed mode[/b], switching back and forth restores the window to full screen size. [b]can't pause the game, alt+tab doesn't stop the clock either[/b], a dealbreaker on its own. [b]progress is saved when you quit[/b], so going back to the menu is an option but not an elegant one and loading times are relatively long (should be instant). tile placement is glitchy, sometimes two letters occupy the same slot in your hand and the tutorial already bugged out for me, didn't accept a word that was in the dictionary. have to right click each placed letter one by one, can't take back all of them with one click, and after the game over screen the current player's timer keeps going. nothing happens if it runs out, gotta click the exit icon to leave the level. smooth. there are 2 camera angles and it always defaults to the first (worse) one. audio settings and windowed/full screen status don't get saved between sessions either and changing the board or tile color doesn't move the current selection border, can't be sure you did anything until the next game starts. again, smooth. even after numerous patches over the years(!) [b]it's still a buggy mess[/b], very far from recommendable. can't imagine what it was like when it first came out, nor can I think of a decent 'pure' scrabble alternative with multiplayer on steam, but if you want a similarly mobiley but infinitely better and cheaper scrabble-like with combat and whatnot, check out [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/dohi64/recommended/362790]word wonders: the tower of babel[/url].

this game doesn't even perform basic functions correctly. i'd rather play the free games on my phone

Jeu complètement bugué, mal fait. Il promet une expérience normale de scrabble mais mélange les points des tuiles en Anglais alors que je joue en Français tout en mettant le nombre de tuiles qu'il y a en Anglais. Bref le jeu est injouable, c'est une vraie perte d'argent dans un jeu très très mal conçu. Il pourrait convenir si vous y jouer en Anglais, mais pas dans une autre Langue. Only buy it if you want to play in English, or else, you'll find out the game is badly made, and you'll get points and letters like it is supposed to be in the English version, so it's not adapted for the other languages.

this game is quite possibly the most splendid experience i have ever had the pleasure of participating in. nothing could have prepared me for the sheer genius and innovation this game displays. i am so blown away every time i open it by the stunning graphics, advanced bots, and completely sensical gameplay. each word i enter into the board feels like a new world, just waiting for me to explore it. this game truly lets my imagination run wild and for that i am forever grateful. nothing compares to the outstanding, beautiful, remarkable, seamless, smooth, eloquent and tremendous game that is happy words. happy words is like my god. it is a place i go when i feel sad, when i feel hopeless, when i need to be...happy. it brightens my day and lights up my night. and also makes my mornings and evenings lighter too. sometimes in bed when i can't sleep, i think of happy words and all the words i have spelled in it and i slip easily into peaceful dreams. when i wake, i open happy words and am simply enamored with how stunning and well-made and carefully crafted it is. i have met my best friends from playing this game. if you are feeling alone, if you're feeling beaten down by the world, this is the game for you. it is a place of worship and connection, and of creativity and masterful linguistics. never before and never again will there be a game like this. spend your money. it is the best purchase you will ever make and you will never regret it. sincerely, a disciple

very fun game, still has a couple bugs but not many highly recommend if you like scrabble you'll like this

Das online steam Lobby fehlt kann nicht mit steam Freunden online spielen

Die Bots legen absolut lächerliche Wörter. Aber das Wort Wochenfrist gibt es in diesen Spiel nicht, Nehmt doch einfach aus jeden Land den Duden setzt die Wörter dafür ein und fertig. So ist es einfach nur lachhaft.

Payer 5€ pour avoir un jeu plein de bug, pas de W, des mots simple que le dictionnaire ne veux pas prendre.. très déçue..
