INTRODUCTION:
"You move into the city, away from your family. Luckily you find a cheap goshiwon. Although, the day you move in weird things started to happen. You keep seeing this woman... A woman with long black hair covering her face, scrawny body, with long deformed limbs. And the more you fear it, the stronger it gets. And it won't stop until you're dead... will you survive?
*What is goshiwon room?

WHAT'S NEXT?
For now only the 1st and 2nd Chapter is complete, There will be two more to come! I'm hoping it does well so I can invest a lot of time and effort into making this project a lot better and BIGGER!
HOW IT STARTED
This whole game idea basically came from a scary experience me and a person I know had.. I'm pretty sure we all have those creepy memories of something unexplainable happening to us.. well, I made mine into a game! but scarier..
Anyway I hope you enjoy the game!

I REALLY ENJOYED THE GAME :3 the art is so pretty n im honestly obsessed
Only two chapters, done in 1 hour despite my tendencies to search everywhere and interact with everything. Interesting beginning but not enough to actually understand anything about the story yet so it's not something you will leave with a fulfilling feeling. Pretty art though. But for now, it's absolutely worthless to buy, it's actually nothing more than a demo. If you want to encourage the developer to finish the game or get updates about it, here is the Insta where he posts weekly : https://www.instagram.com/catowo_official?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw== And here is the Patreon : https://patreon.com/haesaa?utm_medium=clipboard_copy&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=creatorshare_fan&utm_content=join_link So don't waste your money on a demo, go finance the development instead if you're curious.

Hana: Hide and Seek is a compact yet atmospheric horror experience developed and published by Catowo, built around a haunting premise that unfolds inside the cramped, isolating walls of a Korean goshiwon. You play as Hyeon, a young adult who has just moved into this claustrophobic apartment building after leaving home, only to discover that something deeply unsettling lurks within its corridors. What begins as a mundane attempt at starting a new chapter quickly turns into a nightmare when a ghostly woman begins appearing at the edges of Hyeon’s everyday life. Her distorted movements, obscured face, and unnerving presence create an immediate tension, and the game leans heavily on psychological discomfort rather than mere shock value. Even in its small spaces, Hana manages to evoke a sense of dread that lingers, making every hallway or quiet room feel charged with unseen danger. The visual presentation plays a major role in shaping this atmosphere. While the game uses pixel art and a top-down RPG-inspired viewpoint, the art direction blends soft, almost cute character designs with sharply contrasting horror imagery. This duality gives the game an unsettling charm—at first glance, it looks like a gentle indie adventure, yet it quickly reveals a darker, more disturbing side. The unsettling animations, eerie sound cues, and carefully constructed environments heighten the psychological impact. Instead of relying on high-fidelity gore or jump scares, Hana uses suggestion and proximity: the discomfort comes from the ghost’s unpredictable appearances, the subtle distortions in the world, and the sense that Hyeon is never fully safe even in familiar rooms. Gameplay is simple but functional, following the typical structure of RPG-maker-style horror games. Players navigate rooms, interact with objects, solve small puzzles, and occasionally flee or hide from the ghost. The mechanics exist primarily to support the narrative and tension rather than to challenge players with complex systems. Codes, locked doors, and exploration elements keep the pacing varied while maintaining a sense of constant vulnerability. The minimalist structure ensures that the player’s attention stays on the story’s creeping mystery rather than on mechanics. This accessibility makes the game easy to pick up, even for players who are not accustomed to horror titles, but also means that those looking for intricate systems may find it mechanically sparse. At the narrative level, Hana offers only two completed chapters so far, with more intended for future release. This limited content can be both an advantage and a drawback. On one hand, the short chapters create a focused, tightly paced horror experience that doesn’t dilute its tension. On the other, the story currently feels incomplete, as if the mysteries surrounding Hyeon, the ghost woman, and the goshiwon’s hidden secrets are only partially revealed. Players who become invested in the unfolding horror may find the experience abruptly cut off, ending without the narrative payoff or emotional closure that a full release might offer. This incompleteness has been a point of frustration for many who felt the atmosphere was strong enough to deserve a more fully developed arc. Despite its brevity, the game has earned a largely positive reception. Players consistently praise its eerie tone, effective tension, and the way it weaponizes the contrast between its cute visual elements and its disturbing subject matter. The ghost’s design, in particular, is frequently noted as unnerving despite the game’s small scale and simple engine. However, criticism centers around the same areas that define its limits: the story’s current unfinished state, the protagonist’s passive demeanor, and the relatively thin narrative explanations for the events taking place. Some players also note a desire for deeper character development or more emotional nuance, as the story sometimes feels abrupt or surface-level in its psychological exploration. Hana: Hide and Seek ultimately stands as a promising indie horror project that excels in mood, atmosphere, and visual contrast. It offers a tense, memorable experience that doesn’t overstay its welcome, but it also leaves a clear sense of unfulfilled potential due to its unfinished narrative. For players who appreciate atmospheric horror, unsettling pacing, and story-driven tension, the existing chapters are a worthwhile experience, delivering a compact dose of psychological unease. Those seeking a complete narrative or a more elaborate gameplay structure may find it best to wait for future chapters, but as it stands, Hana is an intriguing and stylistically distinctive entry in the world of indie horror games.
It is a bit short but I definitly recommend it for its storyline and interpretations.
Not bad, but looks really like a simple Alpha. I appreciated the "spooky parts".
I'm so excited to see the updates of this game! So far I LOVE the art style and the characters are quickly growing on me. The only complaint I have is about the lack of proper capitalization and punctuation in a few spots, but it doesn't really affect the game play for me personally since I still really enjoy it.
He's literallly meeeeeeeeeeee
very fun game found it on instagram cannot wait until more chapters are released!
i liked, need to replay and see more of the endings
