Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.86/day in the week to Sep 11 → 2.33/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Honestly, the game looks like it was made almost entirely by AI. There are several basic issues that lead me to believe the developer didn't even test the game. For example, settings don't save and they reset every time you open a new menu. Also, pressing Alt+Tab causes the game to create multiple invisible windows that get stuck in the Alt+Tab view, they remain there even after uninstallation requiring to restart my computer. This raises serious concerns about the game's security and stability, what are the chances that a poorly written code could harm my operating system or even the hardware? Unfortunately I was forced to request a refund seconds after opening the game for the first time.
Shallow, quite lame. The game is holding your hand too much. No exploration, you can only click the right thing. Even for the low price I wouldn't recommend.

Unfortunately there is not enough here, even for $5. There's very few puzzles and not a lot of trial and error. However, there's definitely a good game in here had it cooked for longer. I enjoyed the obviously true-to-life angle that exists here but I kept having the thought that I'd scratch this itch better if I just went to hackthebox or something like that. There's also quite a few bugs that make the game frustrating to interact with at times. I'm assuming a lot of the shortfalls here come from a lack of experience/resources. If something like this came along but with more polish, more exploration, more opportunities to engage with the systems that are here, I would be very excited for it.
Beat the entire game in about an hour or so, has potential, but currently seems like a vibe code game.
I wanted to like this game, the concept is interesting and it could have been done well. It just wasn't. We'll start at the end of the game and work backwards. The finale is a twist ending with a deeply unsatisfying conclusion that seems like a bad ending hinting at a possible good ending. But from reading the developer's comments it seems that's the only possible ending, and it's intended to leave a bad taste in your mouth. So... mission accomplished? The whole game is on rails. If you get stuck, absolutely nothing will progress until you find the button the dev wanted you to push to move forward. What that unfortunately means is that to get to that bad ending, you're scripted to fall prey to a series of blunders that you can smell from a mile away if you've had any cybersecurity training at all, or were paying attention to the previous hour of gameplay. There's no way to avoid them if you detect them; your options are to play along with your scripted demise or go play something else. Which brings us to the beginning. Minor spoiler for the first 10 minutes of the game: your friend catches you picking someone's pocket and tells you to satisfy your klepto urges by becoming a white hat hacker instead. Within minutes of starting your career on the side of the angels, corpo do what corpo does and stiffs you on your service fee. In retaliation,
you sell their customer database on the dark web
, which leads to the following exchange with your friend: "Did you do a crime? I told you not to do crimes!" "Yeah, but they deserved it." "u right lol, now let's go rob someone else" The character whose seat you fill is the reason everything goes wrong in this game, while simultaneously having no agency at all over its trajectory or outcome. Though the techniques are real, you've probably already intuited 80% of them if you've ever had any cybersecurity training, or if you've looked that the alphabet soup on the back end of a URL and wondered what it meant. The game is over in about 2 hours, assuming you don't get stuck on what amounts to a point-and-click adventure interspersed with terminal commands. There was a good idea at the core of this game. I wish it had come to fruition. Cannot recommend.
Game is surface level at best. And there is too many bugs. I don't recommend it.
I think the problem with most hacker/computer sim/"commandline" games is they claim to be realistic, but then the end result is far from it, even on small superficial things. First few commands i type into the shell, just basic stuff when i log into any actual shell for myself or work, are completely unusable. my user is root, but sudo access is restricted? Why can't I echo my shell? apt list does nothing, even though that's a valid command from the ingame help menu, because man doesn't exist btw. What's even funnier is that every time you install via apt, it "updates" the man entries for that package. Very realistic ctrl-a selects all for some reason, no ctrl-w Some generic ui/ux bugs of settings not persisting on restart, and then MB4/5 forward/back being functional, but to move you between the ingame session and the main menu, not forward/back on pages. I want to like it, and I get that its supposed to be super dumbed down to make it enjoyable for the lowest common denominator, but at least make the commandline reflect realistic commands and expectation
keyifli ve içine alan bir oyun ama bence oyundaki ai a oyuncunun kitlendiği noktada yardım etmesi eklenmeli kitlendiğimiz zaman oraya girince ai bize biraz yardım ederse çok daha iyi olur sanırım
Hacker's Journey is by far one of the worst games I’ve ever played. The gameplay is clunky and painfully boring, with controls that feel unresponsive and broken. The graphics look outdated, like something from over a decade ago, with poor textures and laughable animations. The story is practically nonexistent, filled with incoherent writing and meaningless dialogue. The game claims to be realistic, but there’s absolutely nothing realistic about it — the so‑called hacking mechanics are childish, oversimplified, and feel more like cheap mini‑games than anything serious. On top of that, the optimization is terrible: constant bugs, crashes, and performance drops make it nearly unplayable. Overall, it’s a frustrating, empty, and worthless experience. I strongly do not recommend it to anyone.
