Guns of Midnight

[i] Guns of Midnight[/i] производит положительное первое впечатление: нормальное меню, бодрый саундрек, обширные уровни, даже сюжет в две строчки написали, придраться можно лишь к дизайну, когда герой черно-фиолетовое пятно на фоне серо-фиолетовых стен. Так как [i] Terminist Arcade[/i] напрямую заявили, что это хардкорная аркада, то врагов вываливают пачками, не стесняясь. Учитывая быстрые и резкие движения персонажа, можно сделать вывод, что на аккуратную игру рассчитывать не придётся. Противники, весьма, упитанные по здоровью, а их бластеры не слишком сильно уступают нашему в скорострельности, однако у них почему-то отдачи нет, а у нас есть. Эта отдача не позволяет ни двигаться рашем, ни вести дальние перестрелки. Но самый смак наступает при встрече с летающими противниками. Они летают как черти, а вы можете нажать стрелочку вверх и пострелять под углом 90 градусов, бегать при этом нельзя – это расстрел, особенно, когда есть и пешие противники. В итоге вы умираете, возраждаетесь, снова умираете, так пока область не будет зачищена, а время то тикает, бомба не ждёт. Вот так в очередной раз под вывеской «сложной игры» разработчики суют потребителям с лопаты искусственно воссозданную сложность. Проходите мимо.

The game is trying hard to be one of the good run and gun games but it fails miserably. It lacks features that have been in such games forever such as shooting while running, shooting diagonally, rapid fire, double jump, going down platforms by pressing down+jump and perhaps others. It's a dull game and I couldn't get myself to play more of it.

Simple but addictive retro graphics game to die and try again, it will not take you long to finish it and it has an appetizing music, with a discount it may be worth trying.

I liked it, I really did, but it is lacking some quality of life aspects amoung other features that I kind of expect in 2022...like save game functionality. Other missing features - Diagonall shooting (opponents can do it, why can't I) - Run & Gun - Jump down platforms levels I really liked the feel of the game though.

This is great fun! It reminds me of some of the classic platformers, but it is really fast paced and challenging. This game does not pull punches, one life is all you get (as far as I have gotten) and it could prove frustrating to some. However, each play through has allowed me to get further so the frustration is accompanied by a sense of accomplishment and a better grasp of the game world and how it operates. This is a nice way of balancing an otherwise difficult game mechanic, and I find it refreshing to have to work for the goal in this sense. I am assuming, maybe I'm wrong, that there might be some kind of checkpoints, but we will see going forward. If you want a good challenge, without the long term commitment, then Guns of Midnight is just the thing!

I love platformer shooters and this one is really good!

In this video I take a look at Guns of Midnight a fast paced arcade platform shooter. The goal is to complete the game before midnight, which is 8 minutes away, without dying and there are leader boards for the fastest completion time. I was playing it far too slow in my video but you need to play the game a bit so you can learn it before you will be able to complete it, if you can complete it. It's not easy but it is well made, very well priced, and fun. Guns of Midnight nails those sweet retro cyberpunk vibes, with beautiful visuals and an awesome soundtrack. Gameplay is somewhat limited, but fun nonetheless. The main problem here is that the game was just never finished and considering the last update went out a couple of years ago, it probably never will be. And you know what? For $3, I would have still recommended it as is, if the developers removed unfinished mechanics and left the game in a feature-complete state. Instead, we are left with achievements for collecting silver ingots that do not exist in the game.
