A remastered version of one of the greatest multiplayer games of old times "Mine Bombers", it was released in 2016, but I didn't know about it until yesterday, it was truly amazing discovery! Sadly there is almost no info about it when searching a remake of Mine Bombers, as it is called Gun Bombers. Spent a lot of time searching for this, found it accidently on some forum... There are some issues with performance on lava levels (growing lava stuttering), but it's not critical. Thank you very much developers, keep it up and don't abandon this great project! 10/10
Great game! This game brings back memories of the good old minebombers game. A must buy for everyone who likes minebombers. And also for those who are not familiar with minebombers, you really should check that or this game out. Amazingly fun especially with friends 5/5

Great multiplayer either co-op teams or total versus mode! I've had so much laughter with this game when played against my friends! Definitely worth the buy!
hyvä peli
The game is not working right. You can't play multiplayer, even if your friend sends you IP adress to connect - YOU CAN'T DO IT.
Gun Bombers, developed and published by Antti Vaihia, is a fast-paced top-down arena shooter that blends chaotic multiplayer combat with resource gathering and destructible environments. While its presentation is simple and its scale modest, the game stands out through its combination of strategic mining mechanics and explosive player-versus-player battles. Designed with both competitive and cooperative play in mind, it offers a compact but energetic experience that thrives most when shared with others. At its core, Gun Bombers drops players into destructible, randomly generated cave-like arenas where survival and scoring go hand in hand. Players assume the role of miners armed with guns and explosives, competing to eliminate opponents while simultaneously collecting gold and treasure scattered throughout the environment. This dual focus adds a layer of tactical decision-making uncommon in straightforward arena shooters. Players must constantly weigh whether to aggressively pursue opponents or take the risk of venturing deeper into the map to mine valuable resources that can be used for upgrades between rounds. The destructible terrain is one of the game’s defining features. Nearly every wall and surface can be blown apart, fundamentally reshaping the battlefield in real time. Explosions open new pathways, collapse cover, and create sudden hazards that force players to adapt instantly. This dynamic environment ensures that no two matches unfold identically. The ever-changing layout encourages improvisation, rewarding players who can think quickly and exploit newly created openings or escape routes. Weapon variety further enhances the gameplay. Players have access to a range of firearms, bombs, and special items that introduce both conventional and humorous tools of destruction. From rapid-fire guns to powerful explosives and quirky gadgets, each weapon changes the flow of combat in subtle ways. Strategic item use becomes critical, particularly in tightly contested matches. Choosing the right moment to deploy explosives or retreat to upgrade can determine the outcome of a round. Gun Bombers offers multiple game modes that broaden its appeal. Classic deathmatch and team-based battles cater to competitive players, while modes like capture-based objectives and even a playful soccer variant introduce variety. Additionally, a cooperative endless mode allows players to team up against waves of AI-controlled enemies, shifting the focus from rivalry to survival. This mode provides an alternative for those who prefer collaboration over direct competition and adds replayability beyond standard PvP skirmishes. Multiplayer functionality is central to the experience. Supporting both local and online play, the game accommodates up to ten players in chaotic arena battles. Local sessions are particularly engaging, as the shared-screen chaos and destructible terrain create lively, unpredictable encounters. Online play extends the possibilities, though its niche audience means matchmaking may depend on coordinating with friends. Steam Workshop integration and a built-in level editor add longevity, allowing players to create and share custom maps that keep the gameplay fresh. Visually, Gun Bombers embraces a minimalist 2D aesthetic that prioritizes clarity over visual complexity. Character sprites are simple but readable, ensuring players can track movement amid explosions and debris. The straightforward art style complements the fast pace, preventing visual clutter from interfering with gameplay. Sound design reinforces the action with punchy effects for gunfire and explosions, contributing to the arcade-like intensity. While the multiplayer chaos is the game’s strongest asset, its single-player experience is more limited. The endless survival mode offers a solid challenge, but it lacks the unpredictability and social interaction that define the multiplayer matches. For solo players, the game can feel repetitive after extended sessions. However, as a shared experience, it delivers bursts of strategic and explosive fun. Ultimately, Gun Bombers succeeds as a lightweight yet cleverly designed arena shooter that merges resource management with high-energy combat. Its destructible environments and mining mechanics create tactical depth beyond simple shooting, while its variety of modes and multiplayer support provide ample opportunities for chaotic entertainment. Though modest in scope and presentation, it captures the spirit of arcade competition and delivers memorable moments for players seeking fast-paced, destructible multiplayer mayhem. Rating: 7/10
One of my childhood games, nice to play with a group!
