About

A short, difficult, replayable single player experience that should take a few hours.
Experimental gameplay, where the player has granular control over the strength of their jumps and the tightness of their grip on their laser tether to influence their descent speed.
Your flashlight, laser tether and D.O.T.S. flare gun all use the same power source. Use your energy carefully.
(Almost) No HUD. All interactions and information are in-world
Horror fueled by building tension and a slow descent into the darkness and danger of a mouth-shaped structure that may be alive and was somehow involved with the end of the world.
5th gen console inspired graphics (late 90's, early 00's) enhanced with some modern technologies.
Original soundtrack inspired by the horror game GOATs.

A mysterious phenomenon causes most people to vanish and the oceans to rise. Furious maws, towering over even the tallest of man-made constructs, surge from the ocean. After years alone as the last human left, your rations are depleted and your time is short. In your final moments, descend into one of the colossal gullets to satisfy the last morbid curiosity mankind will ever have.

Use your sci-fi rappelling equipment to reach the bottom of the Gullet. Your laser tether is your main piece of equipment. Use either a combination of held keys or an analog trigger to control how tightly you grip the handle and how quickly you descend. Use your flashlight and D.O.T.S. flare to light up your surroundings and carefully plan your descent. Using your equipment will deplete your battery, including the very tether from which you hang. Using the battery charger to pass ions over the lithium ion strip in your battery and stay on top of your charge level will be the key to survival.

I've had a great time playing GULLET. I've found it to be such a fresh and new approach to terror in ways that I hadn't expected. This feeling megalophobia was triggered, and definitely a fear of heights when peering over a ledge. There's a great mystery that drives the player ever forward here, with great nuggets of story to be found along the way. I'd classify this as terror, yeah, not only in the environments the player finds themselves in, but also in the controls. There will be times where your dexterity will be challenged to use the tools correctly, or leap from place to place. There will also be several areas of what could only be considered parkour with a heavy hand of biological grossness. In defence of the player I feel a bit hard done by, as I've hit a part of the game that has challenged my ability and patience in ways that had never been tested before in GULLET and I can't get past it. I may have also missed an upgrade somewhere along the way, making it all the more challenging. This particular challenge feels just too tough, and as much as I've loved my experience up until this point, I just don't have the patience to figure out this unfun sequence, nor do I have the interest to redo my run and hopefully get the upgrade I need to make this particular section easier. Still, it's a thumbs-up for me from the perspective of this being something new and fresh with a unique style of terror. I have some faith that a patch will arrive to assist players like me to navigate this particularly difficult area. If not? Well, too bad for me. I most definitely look forward to what the developer gets involved with in the future. And.. meanwhile, I'll be watching for game updates. :)
The game leaves you with a lasting impression! Short and intense game that puts efforts in creating an eery ambience with strong moments. There are also well-made cutscenes that really sets the tone of the game! The game is centered a few strong gameplay ideas using gadgets with multiple utilities. The gameplay can be a bit rigid but also put you in immersion as you experience how hazardous and hard it is to descend an unexplored route. You will get stuck but make the most of what you have to find your way! Sometimes, think outside the box! Although the game is advertised as horror, you should not be afraid of diving as deep as you can in the gullet. Don't expect cheap jumpscares and other easy fear-generating artifice. It's all about tension. Additionnal note, the dev is really nice and pleased to hear comments on the game! He has already implmented numerous changes to improve the game while keeping the experience true to itself!
A platforming game where it's too dark to see the platforms. I'm interested in the concept - repelling into a strange monolith under the pretense of being the last person to avoid an eldritch rapture while reflecting the strain of climbing on the players inputs is really, really cool; However the game mandates a controller on top of an inventory system that's more novel for mouse controls, made even more frustrating by just how opaque the path is; platforms are black shadows above a black abyss with a few lightning strikes to light your way. There is a flashlight - the usual horror flashlight that doesn't really illuminate anything, and drains your precious battery for no benefit. I can appreciate difficulty, but perhaps making your tutorial impossible to complete without ending up in an inescapable pit isn't the best way to attract the casual masochist. Edit: I should clarify the game does have some sound mechanics; But make sure you're ready for the challenge of platforming nearly-blind and are committed to using a joypad with analog triggers. Mouse and Keyboard, at the time of writing, needs a bit of work. The setting is intriguing, and it's not often we get games committed to using inputs to mimic the physical strain of your character - definitely try this one out and be a little less picky than I am. :p
Good and unique. Got stuck when you get the flare gun and have no idea where to go from there, but I was enjoying it a lot up until them.
Interesting little indie Horror game with great atmosphere and a unique premise. The climbing mechanics are unique and are unlike anything I've played before in a game. Some platforming sections are a tad difficult, and sometimes it isn't always clear as to where to go, but the experience is well worth it!
Difficult to understand controls at first but after like the first part of the game you get a feel and the game is an adventure, It is a bit difficult but i believe this is intentional and it makes every decent more risky. Triggered megolophobia(fear of huge things) very well, I recommend This game to our cosmic horror/Ps1 style horror fans out there
Highly would recommend this game! Its that perfect sweet spot between horror and mystery that feels great. Yes the game can get difficult at times but its not a game where it holds your hand the entire time you sometimes really have to put some brain power behind your moves. I give the game a solid 8/10. Some areas definitely need some tiny bit of polishing up but with time all the small details will be perfect!
I don't think I've ever felt this small in a game before. I don't have a fear of heights, but after trying the leaning mechanic once I definitely wasn't in a hurry to do it again. The controls are weird and stressful at first but it starts feeling more and more natural as you explore ways of getting around. Finding the limits of how reckless you can be is imo one of the hardest challenges this game throws at you. I have one criticism regarding this, specifically the point where
you have to untether to swing to another anchor point. I got stuck for a long time here because not in my wildest dreams would I have thought that you can survive a move like this. I had to look up a walkthrough and still had a few failed tries before getting it right. I think a hint would benefit this section, maybe something foreshadowing Anthony's demise?
Extremely impressive for a debut game and I'm excited to see future projects from the developer. Must mention the story too, it really set a somber and lonely tone to my descent.
gives great head
Unforgettable.
