About
Grimslair is a dark fantasy roguelite deckbuilder where every run is a race against Grim’s soul quota. Build brutal card combos, rip Soulwords from the living and the dead, break Grim’s deadly chain attacks, and rewind time when your run collapses.

Rip Soulwords from humans, animals, and the undead. Fuse them into your battle cards to change how they work, stack brutal effects, and build wild combos. As your cards level up, your deck becomes stranger, stronger, and deadlier with every loop. Use blank Tabula Rasa cards to create custom battle cards that are uniquely yours.

Most enemy cards have Chain Connectors on both sides. Grim’s five-card deal can create deadly combos, letting him play multiple cards in one turn. Break his chains, interrupt his assault, and survive long enough to strike back.

Every day is a race against Grim’s Soul Quota. Track enemies through graveyards, forests, caves, deserts, and snowy mountains, then choose which battles are worth the risk before the clock runs out and the loop starts over.

You do not survive Grimslair alone. Your husky fights beside you in exploration and combat, using its own cards, abilities, and ways to grow stronger. Level up your dog, pet your dog, and turn loyal companionship into a deadly advantage.

Meet strange vendors selling powerful cards, upgrades, and deck-changing effects. Buy what you need, or kill them and steal everything they carry. But every choice leaves a lasting consequence...

When a run ends, the clock drags you back to the Chamber of Time. New perks, battle cards, enemies, and Soulwords reshape each loop, forcing you to adapt, experiment, and push deeper into Grim’s world.

Every card, character, and piece of game art was hand-painted by the solo developer over nearly 6 years.

Hello My name is Lincoln I am autistic I have vision problems I need my glasses to help me to see having my laptop close to my face helps me to see the game better. I grew up with yugioh the anime and wizard the Canadian card game I play cards with my family from time to time. i am also a card collector of Doctor Who and Star Trek. This game called Grimslayer takes time and patients to learn you build your deck up from the start but if you die you have to start all over with a new deck the decisions you make will impact your journey though the game. Its a quest to save your girlfriend from the grim reaper to bring her back from the dead with new addons on the horizon for the game its only going to get exciting for card players Final Verdict for grimslayer is a 9/10 by Lincoln Williams show reviews
Day 2: I just figured out you can pet the DOG! I do approve of such things. Runs take longer and feel so much better when it comes to progression. I feel like I am making real progress, I may have gotten a few good power ups to so yeah. Few things on the battle board could be made smaller to keep it looking a bit cleaner. The artwork is amazing on the cards, and they are not static so they have nice effects going. Day 1 A great game that has a ton of customizations that really allow you to explore a lot of play styles. wish i could have played longer tonight, but tomorrow we shall put in some real time. i played slay the spire one and honestly i enjoy this more so far. i would highly recommend people who enjoyed slay the spire to give this a try! There are quite a few more mechanics it seems to get used to but that just means more variety in runs which is something i can see allowing me to come back again and again for more runs.
Really solid roguelike card game. The core gameplay is fun, runs feel different enough to keep things interesting, and there’s some killer card synergies to mess around with. It’s being updated regularly by the developer and it's out of early access! Easy to sink a bunch of runs into. Keep up the good work!
Quirky game with an interesting mix of exploration and deck building. Combat music gets stuck in your head it's really nice lol. Lots of mechanics and customizability in the cards. The UI is unique it feels very board game-y which is a cozy, warm feel. [strike]It needs some tidying up in terms of how the buttons are placed and where relevant information pops up and the progression/difficulty curve needs to be looked over.[/strike] I'll play it more for sure and look forward to how it will look as time goes by. EDIT: Okay played the game again after the more recent update. It's IMPROVED SIGNIFICANTLY! The difficulty is quite nice, being granted freedom to move as you please and pick when you fight the last boss is really an interesting twist and a great upgrade from the previous iteration where you had to sacrifice certain numbers of souls to progress. Now you can move around freely knowing the deeper you venture the harder the enemies! The game is also ALOT neater, the perks on cards and the variety on cards is a huge improvement as well. Final mention, the new classes are amazing!
I would absolutely recommend this game! Not only is it a battle card game, there is exploration, battling the elements, perks, classes etc... RPG card game, love it! The art style of the game is fantastic. The dev (AUSTIN) has worked very hard to bring this game alive from a passion project to a full scale game. Please give it a try. Like someone said, you will die and then come back for more over and over and over! :) Can't say i have been this hooked on a game since slay. TRY THIS GAME!
So far it has been a really fun game. My only complaint is that it seems to easy currently. I'm hoping there will be a difficulty modifier.
Great fun this! Easy to understand (especially if you're not much of a card gamer) and fun to learn as you go. The art is great, and the music is awesome! I enjoy the board game aspect of it, not just collecting cards and re-running. Theres more objective to leveling up cards, finding power ups, and traversing the map in search of our love! Real fun! I can't wait to see what more comes of it!
Killer deck builder! love the overall vibe of the game with an epic soundtrack and fun/flippant commentary. difficulty level keeps it fun but humbling. I got complacent and thought i was on a roll and then got slapped across the table but came back with vengeance. cant wait to dive further into the adventure and see what more this game has to offer.
Great presentation and style. If it looks interesting to you, definitely give it a try!
Its an OK, Card game with alot of good CONCEPTS. However, it is one of the easiest. The Voice acting is bad, but idc about that. The among of bugs is VERY high. If you click to fast or play cards too fast it will bug out.
