So, I bought this game because i have over 4k hours in rust and I had hopes of feeling that in VR. The problem: There are no keybind edits and literally every button function is non-intuitive and perhaps backwards. The inventory button is press "b" and the hotbar button is hold "a" while whilst holding the "b" button(inventory) it pops the map up. I dont know why it would make sense to split the hotbar function and the inventory to other keys when a press vs a long press is possible on the same button as observed when you hold the inventory button to view the map. hotbar and inventory are related and should have a related button. Then when you pull the building plan to build a base you have to pull the trigger to open a selection wheel. WHO WOULD DO THIS?!?!? Trigger is always EXECUTE. instead you have to press "b" THE INVENTORY button in order to execute placement. I MEAN this: all the keybinds seem to be made in order to confuse people. It is all counter intuitive to any other prior game knowledge and muscle memory. I spent almost 9 hours hoping i could learn the binds but i only spent 8.9 hours pressing the wrong keys every time. I could never be immersed because I would have to stop and think about keys constantly. After 8.9 hours of building aggravation I decided it was impossible to get comfortable. This developer should either add keybind editing or make the controls actually make sense. This may be one of my biggest disappointments in gaming to date. My first thought was to return the game immediately but i figured it would be worth it to try and remap controls in my mind. It didn't work. I would like a full refund as I have no intention of ever aggravating myself with this game again. There are a lot of really good things about this game but the controls are absolutely a deal breaker

I personally love the open world survival/building games. I cant wait for more items to come.
Strayed is better. 3/10
