Great game. Be warned it has a pretty steep difficultly spike after a few early levels. There's a couple parts of levels I can't even fathom how to 100% because it feels like the beats just don't line up for you to do it without taking damage though. Probably just my own skill issue though, worth playing for sure.
The game is interesting and has a great vibe while playing.
Really impressed with how well the movement syncs with the beat—it feels smooth and satisfying to play!
I'm not into rhythm games, but this game is interesting and I enjoyed playing it!
The rhythm-based dungeon crawling style felt fresh and is quite a unique take on the genre. The music and sound effects were well designed and made it easy to go along with the beat in contrast to other rhythm games where you had to rely more on the visual aspects match yourself with the beat. Though admittedly, using a keyboard for this game felt a bit clunky. It's probably a matter of personal preference, but I had to take some time to get used to it. But once I switched to a controller it definitely felt way better to play. Some of the obstacles and challenges in the game kind of stumped me at first, but that challenge really made me think about how I would approach it instead of mindlessly going through the levels. I currently only have about an hour into the game, but I'm excited to see what more it brings on later, and more challenging levels. Overall, it’s already looking like a solid game with an interesting take on the genre, definitely worth playing if you’re into rhythm games or dungeon crawlers.
I think the game is pretty interesting, it's a different take on rhythm games for me, but it still engages you, plus with all of the added hacking features, it definitely elevates this game from just a basic rhythm game. The visuals are pretty cool with that Sci-Fi Cyberpunk vibes. I'll definitely have to play more! Update: haha, I was reading some of the reviews and also noticed that some players also ran into a similar issue of button inputs being delayed. I did experience this, but to a minimal degree. In my case, it would happen with the fracking rather than moving, but it wasn't a complete deal breaker. Although it just meant I had to prioritize between 100% the level or just beating it. I am a sucker for grinding to beat, but some of it was a tad bit difficult, especially with stages that killed you if you were too slow. I mean arguably, still a fun premise, but do note that!
interesting game, it reminds me of beat arcade games. quite enjoyable and frustrating
Addicting and fun rhythm game that’s easy to get into. The soundtrack fits Gridbeat perfectly, and the tutorial does a great job explaining the controls. Technically solid too, with smooth performance and responsive inputs, especially during the hacking sections. Timing feels very precise, so slight off-beat inputs can affect the flow a bit. Some minor leniency could make it even smoother, though it may just come down to player timing. Other than that, it’s a great experience. I keep coming back to earn more data and reduce my Sweet Hack moves each level.
Gridbeat ended up being way more fun than I expected. It’s got this really simple look, but once you start playing, it just clicks. The music and visuals line up nicely, and getting into that rhythm feels super satisfying. What I liked most is how easy it is to jump in and just play a few rounds without overthinking it. The controls feel smooth, and the whole experience is just really chill but still engaging at the same time. It’s not trying to be anything crazy, but it does what it does really well. If you’re into rhythm games or just want something you can pick up and enjoy right away, I’d definitely recommend it.
The game was actually quite good. Playing while syncing to the beat was very intriguing and entertaining. At first, I thought I might get bored, but the more I played, the more fun and engaging it became. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoys both music and RPG elements.
