Moreover, the combat against foes is rhythm-based fun battle. Tremendously cute anime artwork. [PZL] マインスイーパー+ダンジョン攻略+リズムゲーム戦闘。キャラがとても可愛い。
A fun and cute minesweeper game in which you solve puzzles and beat monsters in a rhythm game while going deeper and deeper into the dungeons. It has no missable achievements and takes around 4 hours to complete. Approximate amount of time to 100%: I estimate it takes around 4 hours since the treasure room is now more frequently appearing Estimated achievement difficulty: 4/10 Minimum number of playthroughs needed: 1 Is there a good guide available: You don't need a guide Multiplayer achievements: No Missable achievements: No Grinding Achievements: Maybe the one to level up to the maximum level? DLC-Only achievements: No Speedrun achievements: No Time-gated achievements: YNo RNG-achievements: Yes, finding the treasure room involves luck. However, the developer just increased how much is appears. Does difficulty affect achievements: Yes, there are 2 achievements thight to difficulty. I would recommend doing them independently and not together at the same time. However, the rest of the game can be played on easy. Unobtainable/glitched achievements: No Dreamsweeper is a fun puzzle game that combines a roguelike minesweeper puzzle with battling monsters through a rhythm game. You'll keep descending floors to the next puzzle and the next and the next. The type of enemies that walk around are based on which of the 4 worlds you're playing. You'll unlock a new world after completing a world, which also opens up endless mode on the previous world. The monsters in later worlds felt harder, but that might also be because their timing is less forgiving than the purple attack the enemies in the first world do. It feels like the main character walks a little slow, but this seems to be on purpose because you don't want to set a step too far while working out a puzzle. Another thing that I noticed only very late is that while you can have 3 heads with you, you can only wear one, and that one is which buff you currently have. While typing this.. it makes sense.. it is a hat.. we don't wear stacks full of heads. However, with the design in the game and the shop selling always 3 heads, it wasn't so clear to me before. Dreamsweeper has a bunch of nice achievements. Most of them aren't hard and you'll unlock them just for playing the game. There are achievements for playing the puzzles and battles on the highest difficulty. I don't recommend combining those but just do them one by one. As the battles are way longer and the floors are way bigger in both cases. Finding the treasure room requires some luck. You have a chance to find it each time you change floors. The developer just increased the spawn frequency so it shouldn't be too hard to find it while going for the rest of the achievements. I give Dreamsweeper 3 out of 5 stars. I wish there was a sort of middle of the road recommendation. I like the game but am not sure I'd be happy to recommend it. I've almost 100%'d the game right now (The game refuses to tell me how to unlock the final level to actually complete it.) and for all it's not bad, and is fairly cozy, it's sometimes a little bit too slow. Some of the later levels are made of multiple large rooms which can make navigation to the staircase confusing and backtracking at the default speed, with no run button, can be tedious.
Great game, amazing concept. I keep experiencing a bug where I can't turn to look in a direction *without moving* which basically makes the game unplayable. If the dev fixes then this is an easy purchase. More details for dev: The controls work the way I would expect them to when I'm walking around the bedroom between levels but as soon as I get into a level, I can't turn without moving anymore. I've tried switching controller types (between controller (xbox one) and keyboard). I'm playing on both expert difficulties (rhythm and puzzle) with 1920 x1080p resolution and I didn't see a way to adjust/cap the frame rate (in case it was that frame rate bug where the game runs faster on higher frames). Good luck dev, I really do love the concept and am excited to get the bugfix~
Normal minesweeper is more fun I think. The game is not intuitive to me.
DreamSweeper is a really fun game that takes the old MineSweeper game and turns it into an adventure. I like the game because it has cool power-ups and the tougher levels make you think. It's also cool that you have to use your timing skills to take down the bosses. I also really enjoy the music and the game play makes things fun. Two thumbs up.
Roguelike DC/puzzle + cute graphics + controller = A unique blend of minesweeper with rhythm fights. Mark the areas with mines to get through the stage. Buy items/accessories to help. Despite slight grind and repetitive play to unlock new stages, minesweeper mechanics are fun enough to get you to the ending. Your objective is to reach the exit stairs by walking across tiles and avoiding black holes. Gameplay is easy because you only need to take steps across the floor and mark risky tiles. This is accomplished by utilizing minesweeper mechanisms. As you walk, you will either expose multiple tiles because you walked on an empty tile, or a number tile that indicates how many black tiles surround you. Most are situated right on the path you need to walk on, so you can flag them and make them harmless. If you make a mistake and tread on one, you will lose one of your three hearts. When you lose them all, you will wake up in your room and be forced to restart the entire stage. Rhythm plays a role during enemy confrontations. All you have to do is watch for arrows and press the button when one lands on one of the four markers. Projectiles come in a variety of types, and some can even heal you or force you to press the opposite button, but precision is not essential. The only difference between "bad" and "perfect" is how much damage you cause. Your skill level, or lack thereof, is not an issue because the game may be tailored to your preference. Aside from the overall difficulty, which increases the quantity of bombs and room size, you can also adjust the rhythm difficulty, which may be appropriate for people who are not as quick. Flagging all holes each floor and defeating enemies will earn you the game's cash. This can be used in a shop to purchase one-time items that make life easier. Some of them are keys that unlock chests containing additional money and books that restore a heart. While objects are designed to solve the classic minesweeper problem, this does not always work. There are still too many occasions where you must guess which tiles are safe. This becomes brutally obvious at the highest difficulty level, resulting in impossible scenarios and forcing you to rely on luck. This feature isn’t very useful because you can find a lot of items all over the stage. Although you can only carry two goods, this is not a major issue because they do not disappear. Accessories are another aspect that is not really useful. While you can only have one equipped, you can fast switch between them to use their effect. Accessories are more like modifiers in that they can make things simpler or harder; for example, you can add or remove an extra heart. Stages are random, so you can be lucky and locate an exit right away. However, you will still have to clear a few rooms because exits are frequently sealed and require a particular number of stars (a star is awarded for defeating all enemies in an area or flagging all tiles). One annoying bug is that the game changes from full screen to window mode each time you play a new stage. You either have to press Alt-Enter each time, or simply play in window mode. You are encouraged to clear as many tiles as possible in order to earn rewards. The better you do, the more you will fill the bar, which unlocks new furniture for your room, music, new items that may come in the game, and, most importantly, next worlds. The game consists of four worlds, with each new world increasing the amount of stages required to complete a world. The reward is a dream sequence that offers more information on the entire story, as well as the world's infinity mode, which allows you to play for as long as you wish or until you run out of hearts. The grind to open new worlds is the only criticism. Beating a world doesn’t give you enough, so you need to play the infinity mode. Luckily, you can play at the lowest difficulty and quickly clear a floor.
