A lesson in proper wishlist curation. Sometimes, you just need some games for the Steam wishlist. Sometimes, you just browse around and add a bunch of stuff -- you do a quick glance over and think 'eh it's cheap enough and could be good for an indie'. This came in a lot of games from someone (don't worry, they included actual good ones along with this heap.) It's IOS style junk made in Unity with an incomprehensible intro. You run around like you're on crack collecting mushrooms for ammo, then you hit 1-5 to combine them. Thing is, other than color coding, I don't know what exactly I'm making or why it hurts these certain skeleton ghosts more than the other skeleton ghosts. There's no real strategy or even kiting. I ended up mashing my number keys as I backed away as they floated towards me until I had enough ingredients to make a potent enough throwable and then chuck it, with some odd hitboxes on the ghosts where you completely whiff your target, but the games so easy that won't even be a consistent problem. That's it. That's all there is, because you're not protecting anything or upgrading yourself. You just do a circle around the map waiting for things to regrow, and you can see the games content in less than 30 minutes. Old flash games had more content and better gameplay than this. "Can you survive the 10 waves?" Yeah, I can, easily, because you put two infinite ammo items that respawn near eachother. Only consider this as a gag gift alternative for Graveyard Keeper.
Funny and spooky game
Pretty fun little game about collecting mushrooms and shooting ghosts, based on the steven king story of the same name. Get it in a sale or something and It's a fun and interesting enough experience for a little while, especially if you mute the ingame music and listen to something in the background.
Very dull and repetitive game, with very, very dull and repetitve achievements that take ages to complete. They aren't hard, just very long and drawn out!
nice game
Nice fun casual haloween themed game. With several ghosts spawning, who you have to kill in a 10 wave game, or in a survival game if you wish. You collect powerups/magic through several type of mushroom which in turn you launch at the ghosts, after you cast them to your hands. Reminded me a bit of killing floor :)
Graveyard shift is a buggy FPS where you throw mushrooms at waves of enemies. There's no content to the game, it's just a survival shooter. While the graphics aren't terrible, the gameplay isn't great. Controls are fixed and the developers map HOTAS and racing wheels as if they were peasant gamepads, rendering the game unplayable. Because the game may not be playable for many, and there's no content and plenty of bugs, I can't recommend this.
The game has a lot of potential - if a little thought would be put in to it - at the moment it is very boring. * For instance - Why collect mushrooms to simply cast them at the ghosts? Why not rather have them appear randomly at the start of the game and the player has to collect them to move on (a maze style game), or something like that. *The spellcasting is really dull and plain - difficult to work with too. Rather devise a FPS/RPG-style approach and add a spellbook and maybe staffs and/or wands. Add different elements maybe and categorize the spells there under. Along with the spells requirements and energy/mana usage, *Lastly all the ghosts look the same, move the same speed, and pretty much attack in the same way... This makes the game become very repetitive, very soon! It also makes the wave/round speed incredibly long, especially in such a huge environment. Give the ghost and or maybe even other types of enemies a bit more charateristics. *** Other than that I like the graphics, and the gameplay as well as the environment (could use a little more upbeat theme music and more variety of theme songs, just to up the pace of the game as well), the game really has potential... Just a few thoughts on what I would like to see in an update, then I would gladly recommend it and be happy that I paid for it.
I guess it is a cute little wave game, but only for the first few minutes. Nothing too special.
