Grapple Dogs: Cosmic Canines

An improvement from the first game in every way. Better art, more varied gameplay and level design, and you can't skip entire worlds anymore. There's even skins now!

Eh, Luna sucks, and the game isn't really played enough to justify the level editor, just go play the first one.

An absolute, genuine delight. Shadow the Hedge-dog is a joy to control, to the point that I wish the whole game had just gone ahead and been designed around her moveset. Graphically dense, wonderful difficulty curve, and genuine speedrunning and search challenges for those who want to 100%, but that aspect is not necessary, and you won't feel pressured to do it outside of your own want of mastery. It's an absolute shame this did not sell better, and from interviews with the developer you can tell they are disappointed with the lack of financial response. So I hope this is the review that sways you - support these devs who put in the work, as the game is obviously pouring with graphical love and had to be Q-A tested to hell and back based on the solid level design. Can't say enough good (and play the first one too, both are great, especially on steam deck).

A sequel that improves on it's predecessor in EVERY way. I have my issues with the original, but this one fixes all of that. Tight and solid level design; Incredible fun mechanics (I adore the elemental items); great visuals; and a bopping soundtracks. I can only really criticize that playing as Luna with her gun is sometimes difficult due when trying to both platform and shoot. As she plays like a twin-stick shooter, both aiming, firing, and platforming can be a dexterous and reflex challenge. Regardless, this is absolutely worth your time and money.

Fun short platformer that the development team put a lot of care and thought into. The different worlds are a joy to play through and the difficulty of platforming scales nicely as the game progresses. Cons: controlling the gun with Luna while doing other moves can take some getting used to and feels clunky at the times. Overall though very enjoyable platforming experience and well worth the $10 I paid to get it in a bundle. 8.5/10

Great little platformer. Controls are tight, level design is great. Just a lot of fun to play. A bit on the easy side, but not every game has to be Celeste.

I love every inch of this game. From the swift gameplay down to the catchy soundtrack (help me I cannot stop listening to it) I am HOOKED from the moment I click play. The grapple feels incredibly good to use, and compared to the first game some level layouts reward you for abusing every weird physics that might come tagged along it. In the same aspect, Luna’s levels reward dexterity and hard to pull off tricks by hiding a couple collectibles here and there that seem just out of reach. It feels genuinely incredible to master the two grapple dogs. That said, though keyboard controls are alright for Pablo, they are “usable” for Luna. The game is much more streamlined using keyboard and mouse. That is a downside for some, for me it just amplified how nice it feels to master Luna’s mechanics. Either way, this game is a blast, every last bit of dialogue made me laugh, and now I’m here for whatever Medallion Games is cooking up!!

the first game to me was just okay but the addtion of luna nad her having a slightly diffrent movest and being a grumpier gun weilding really helped me. i think this one is pretty dang good
