Grandma, No!

This is a cute little game. The various tasks Grandma must perform are incredibly simple. This game isn't about challenge but about the humor and absurdity involved with the simplest of daily tasks for Grandma. The hardest part of the game is that there are ??? mystery side tasks in each section of the game that the player must discover on their own instead of being told what to do as with the other tasks. These mystery tasks are rarely obvious and are only discovered by experimenting with how to use various objects in the environment creatively. As a grown man, I was mildly amused by this very short game. But frankly I think young children would enjoy this game the most. Particularly if you can get this at discount and are looking for kid-appropriate games, this game is at least worth considering. If you're an adult, this game probably isn't for you. It would be at best mediocre. If you're a child, it would probably be a nice diversion for a couple of hours. But in either case, I don't see much replay value. It's one of those games that once you've put in a couple of hours and finished it, you'll likely never play it again. On a technical note, I played this on Linux with a low-end PC circa 2012. It ran slow as Christmas until I added -dx11 to the game's launch parameters in Steam. After adding that launch option, it ran perfectly fine at full speed. I don't know if this will be an issue on Windows, but all Unreal Engine 5 games I have tried run unplayably slowly on Linux without this parameter. I hate to give a thumbs-down because the game isn't particularly bad, but I honestly wouldn't recommend it for anyone over maybe the age of 7 or so.

cool game but it runs on 30fps for me (i think) when it was made for 60, and the problem with that is the game doesn't use deltatime so it runs 2x slower for me.

Grandma, No! is a colourful and humorous game about completing tasks/mini-games and finding hidden ones too through experimentation. You get 3 areas: living room, kitchen and backyard. You will also meet charming characters throughout the game. Those characters are all fully voiced and they're done excellently. The game has gorgeous graphics, filled with personality, objects to interact with and colours. The hidden tasks were very fun to figure out and were never frustrating. The controls are unusual (with a controller) but they work with this game. Personally, I expected the baby to play a bigger role (based on the trailer) and I was slightly worried about the baby being annoying. But it was more at the background and only cried once which was 1 task to complete. I do have 2 cons to share. Sometimes, objects get mixed and it makes it harder to find what you need, especially in the backyard. That is a nitpick though and it rarely causes issues. What I'm more worried about is the game's price in relation to what you're getting. Don't get me wrong, what you're getting is top notch. But you're getting 2.5-3 hours AT MOST including getting all the achievements for around 15 euros. You can easily complete the main game within 1 hour if you focus on it and don't care about doing everything. The game brought me lots of joy, I can definitely recommend it if you're looking for something silly in a fun way. But the game would have been better off if it costed around 10 euros. I'd get it on sale, it's also a very good bundle game. Most of the achievements require you to complete all the tasks. There are some specific actions but most should come naturally.
