LumbearJack

Mr Lumbear (or Jack to his friends) was rudely awakened by his woodpecker friend with the dreadful news that a pollution guzzling corporation called Evil Works were setting up base in his forest. Armed with his trusty axe, Jack sets out on a mission to foil their plans in destroying the homes of his friends. Thus begins a very satisfying game of sabotage and destruction by Jack as he swings his axe at signs, cranes, buildings, cars and other construction machinery. All the debris flows into his backpack and this upgrades his axe to a bigger one and then a massive chain saw. There is something grimly satisfying hacking and slashing everything in sight. The crowning glory is giving the humans a slap in the face (with sound effects) for their incredible stupidity. If you feel kind, you can pat them on the shoulder later. It is a great game to unleash your anger and frustration and I was sitting there with a big grin on my face as it is quite humorous to play. Graphics are quite basic and cartoony. Music is bright and jaunty. Controls were a bit floaty at times, especially when you have timed gameplay. Overall, this game has an important message to share about the environment and proceeds of the game goes to Ecologi to plant trees. A few levels of the game you have to hit bombs in a particular direction. In some cases, you have to hit the bomb twice before it explodes. This does require some dexterity and co-ordination. It took me a while to pass that level. Some of the achievements are attached to you hitting your targets with accuracy. I failed!! This wholesome game is currently 70% off, so a good time to pick it up. You won't regret it. Jump in and help Jack and his quirky friends save the day! 8/10 Postscript: I forgot to say that you can changes outfits on Jack, so you gain new skins as you play along.

LumbearJack is a charming and relaxing indie game with a great sense of humor. Simple but satisfying gameplay, fun puzzles, and a message delivered with a light touch. A short, feel good experience that’s perfect to play through in a single sitting.

Таймкиллер в мультяшном стиле про экологию, который можно пройти за 2 часа (а взять все ачивки - наверное, за 4 часа). С точки зрения экологического посыла, тут есть интересные мысли: например, что люди, работающие на мегакорпорации, глубоко несчастны и будут гораздо счастливее в эко мире. Или что (как в игре Terra Nil) надо использовать текущую технологию, чтобы устранить её же последствия для природы. И всё это выполнено с помощью шикарной анимации. Медведь не церемонится: чтобы "расколдовать" сотрудника мегакорпорации, он отвешивает ему затрещину. Даже выглядит звонко. То, что сделано, сделано качественно. Возможно, эта игра даже порт из эпохи Flash игр. Рекомендую, если нужна игра для расслабона.

A simple and fun game. I get this at first just because I love bears. My little sibling love this too and play it a few times. Could be a bit educational too for little kids.

I really liked LumbearJack. I enjoyed the mechanics, the characters, and the story. Destroying things was surprisingly satisfying, the puzzles were easy enough to stay relaxing, and overall it just felt fun to play. I also really liked the achievement designs, which is a small thing, but it added to the experience for me. The game is pretty short though — it can easily be finished in under three hours. Because of that, I don’t think it’s worth the full $13 price tag. Personally, I think around $5 would be more reasonable.

A very charmingly dumb little game with fun animal characters where you demolish your way through human creations as an axe-wielding bear to restore the sanctity of the forest. Definitely one for picking up during a sale, but doesn't overstay it's time and has a satisfying gameplay loop.
