San Andreas is a strong contender for the best GTA game. It has by far my favorite map in the game, despite not "Technically" being the biggest or even second biggest GTA map, to me it feels like the biggest. I love how we have a lot of California and part of Nevada all within this map, each location feeling so vastly different to the rest and all full of personality. This game has probably the best gameplay systems out of the series also, the RPG elements add a lot of depth and are an element GTA has yet to replicate in as good a way. There's so much stuff to do in this game its wild, it took me almost 80 hours to complete a 100% playthrough. I just love GTA games that are period pieces, there's a magic to being brought back to the Los Angeles in the early 90s and the game captures the era so well. Everything from the story, to the radio all work together to set the scene perfectly. This game probably has my second favorite soundtrack of the series. I also think that after the classic lighting update that this game looks absolutely gorgeous, its san andreas in all its glory with the orange los santos, blue san fierro and purple skied LV and Bone County with updated lighting and textures. Now character models are definitely where the DE still falter as they never got updated, and yes the textures are not up to current industry standards, but in the guise of "keeping the games art style" I think there's plenty that were updated decently, but also a lot that still just look kinda ugly. To me this version is definitely worth it now however as the QOL changes make up for some of the gameplay aspects that aged poorly and the game looks fairly decent most the time. Honestly though as someone who originally played the DE back in 2021 I don't see how I ever survived 100% playthroughs before the classic lighting, it looks so bland without it.
I bought this on rockstar launcher and its the most beautiful thing ever, everything i expect from a remaster!

Cool game.
