Meisterwerk! Wann Gothic 2 Remake?
Очень интересная игра как сюжетно, так и геймплейно. Правда есть баги.
dodajcie inną opcje otwierania zamków bo to katorga odechciewa się grania
We need to talk. First of all, thank you. I played the original Gothic back in school, and it remains one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I sincerely appreciate the work Alkimia Interactive has done to bring it back. The atmosphere, world design, level design, quest structure, and overall game design capture the spirit of the original remarkably well. And this is the problem. Combat I completed the game as a mage, but I also tried warrior class. Warrior The biggest issue is melee targeting. Sword swings follow the character's facing direction instead of the camera. As a result, before attacking I often have to rotate the character first. It creates the feeling that I could swing a real sword faster and more accurately than my character can in-game. This is especially frustrating when fighting multiple enemies. A lock-on system simply doesn't work well in crowd combat. Camera-oriented attacks would make combat significantly more responsive. Camera The camera is by far the weakest technical aspect of the game. Please reconsider how camera collision is handled. Instead of clipping through nearby geometry when necessary, the camera is aggressively pushed by collision volumes, constantly obstructing the player's view. During lock-on combat this becomes a serious gameplay problem. I avoid certain fights not because they're difficult, but because I literally cannot see what's happening. This feels like a technical issue that should have been solved much earlier in development. Mage The spell system itself is excellent. Spell variety, visual effects, and the number of available spells are all fantastic. Unfortunately, the gameplay doesn't allow those strengths to shine. Some examples: Rain of Fire becomes almost unusable because the particle effects completely obscure the battlefield. Lightning Ball disappears after touching even the smallest piece of collision geometry, making it unreliable in many environments. Combined with the camera issues, spellcasting often turns into "pixel hunting"—trying to find a tiny angle where the spell won't collide with invisible geometry. Stationary casting is an understandable balance decision. Restricting camera rotation while casting is not. The Mage already sacrifices armor, survivability, and mobility. Further limiting aiming during casting only makes the class feel unnecessarily clunky rather than challenging. Enemies Enemy density is far too high. Almost every few meters outside camp there is another hostile creature. Instead of encouraging exploration, the game encourages running past everything because the entire area immediately aggroes onto the player. Frequent combat is fine. Constant combat is exhausting. Enemy attacks and hitboxes Several enemies have attacks with unrealistic range and tracking. Wolves leaping enormous distances and the final boss are good examples. Speaking of the final boss: Was this fight fully tested with a Mage? The timings feel extremely punishing. Nearly every attack causes a stun, and a Mage often dies in only two hits. The encounter feels balanced around melee characters rather than around all available playstyles. Quests The first half of the game is excellent. The quests reward observation, exploration, and logical thinking rather than objective markers. That is exactly what Gothic should be. The second half, however, often stops rewarding reasoning and instead expects players to guess obscure solutions. Examples: Becoming a Fire Mage requires visiting several shrines and casting a spell. How many players realistically discovered this without external guides? How many players naturally found every creature required for the Ulu-Mulu quest? The troll, for example, unexpectedly respawns even if it was killed much earlier. Joining the Water Mages depends on talking to a specific guard back in the Old Camp—a place the player has already escaped and has little reason to revisit. These are not interesting puzzles. They're hidden progression blockers. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II provides a good example of preserving exploration while respecting the player's time. NPCs usually tell you which region to search and what you're looking for without revealing the exact location. The player still explores, but doesn't spend hours wandering blindly. Backtracking There is simply too much backtracking. I spent an enormous amount of time walking from one side of the Colony to the other, only to immediately return again. By the end of the game I knew every path and every bush on the map by memory. Movement is not gameplay. I finished the game in more than 70 hours, and I genuinely believe a very large portion of that time was spent walking back and forth rather than engaging with meaningful content. Wolf Transformation helps, but it is only a partial solution. The game would greatly benefit from: more teleportation stones, additional fast travel points, quest flow that minimizes unnecessary travel. Narrative Unfortunately, the narrative remains almost entirely unchanged from the original. The Nameless Hero is still little more than an empty vessel. He has no defined personality, no meaningful personal goals, no backstory, and almost no emotional motivation beyond reacting to events around him. In 2026, even a minimal personal history would have strengthened the story considerably. The final confrontation with the Sleeper highlights this problem. During the dream sequence, the only people the protagonist remembers are companions he has known for only a few weeks inside the Colony. It reinforces the impression that the protagonist simply did not exist before the opening cutscene. Final Thoughts Despite all of the criticism above, I still recommend Gothic Remake—but only to players who understand what Gothic is. I would not recommend it to someone expecting a casual Skyrim-style RPG or a Soulslike experience. Gothic remains its own unique subgenre, where success comes from creativity, exploration, and problem-solving rather than character stats or mechanical mastery. The foundation is excellent. The world, atmosphere, and core game design have been recreated with incredible care. My hope is simply that future updates—and especially Gothic II Remake—address the combat responsiveness, camera behavior, quest clarity, pacing, and narrative depth. Those improvements would elevate an already very good remake into a truly exceptional one.
Для ремейка древний игры норм. Хотя заметно, что с выхода игры прошли годы и годы. Многие механики устарели.
A real RPG, like old times.
