The Kingdom of Myrtana has been invaded by a relentless horde of orcs. Desperate for powerful weapons to repel them, King Rhobar II orders the mining of vast quantities of magical ore, setting every available prisoner to work in the Khorinis mines. To ensure no one escapes, the King commands his most skilled mages to erect a magical barrier. But something goes terribly wrong, and the magic spirals out of control, trapping everyone inside. The prisoners rebel, transforming the mine into a lawless territory ruled by the Colony’s most brutal inmates.
Now, the King must negotiate with these new rulers, as tensions rise among the mine's factions. Amidst the chaos, the arrival of an unknown prisoner will change everything …

I love Gothic. I felt ;ike a teenager again. The world, the Polish voiceover, the beats, it all has the Gothic Spirit. The optimisation needs work though. I'll definietely play again. It was amazing to experience Gothic in UE5.
This game goes back to a more traditional RPG approach: no waypoint markers, no hand-holding. You actually have to explore, pay attention to landmarks, and learn the map by walking it. It feels slower at first, but that's the point, and it makes the world feel real once it clicks. Performance is a mixed bag. Cities can chug and stutter, but once you're out in the open world it runs smoothly. Worth it if you don't mind some rough edges for a genuinely old-school experience.
An absolute masterpiece of a game. I never played the original so i can't attest to how it compares or honours its predecessor however, I can say that as a fan of RPGs this has been an immense pleasure to play. Combat, exploration and story all 10/10. I cannot wait for Gothic 2 and beyond!
Good oldschool style RPG. Can be a bit janky sometimes, just like old RPGs.
