For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Gotcha Racing 2nd is a retro-inspired arcade racer that combines simple top-down driving mechanics with an unexpectedly addictive customization and progression system centered around randomized vehicle parts. Developed by Arc System Works, the game takes a creative approach to arcade racing by blending fast-paced competition with gacha-style collection mechanics, allowing players to continuously improve and redesign their vehicles throughout the campaign. Although the visuals and overall presentation appear fairly simple at first glance, the gameplay loop gradually becomes surprisingly engaging thanks to its strong focus on upgrades, experimentation, and long-term progression. The core structure revolves around earning currency through races and using those rewards to obtain randomized vehicle parts from a capsule-machine style system. Engines, tires, chassis components, special abilities, and cosmetic upgrades can all be collected and combined to create stronger and more specialized vehicles. Every race contributes to progression, making even small victories feel rewarding because they bring players closer to unlocking better equipment. This constant cycle of racing, collecting, upgrading, and experimenting becomes the main source of the game’s appeal. Driving mechanics are intentionally straightforward and highly accessible. Cars handle smoothly, drifting around corners feels responsive, and the overhead camera angle gives the races a clean arcade-like flow that feels heavily inspired by classic handheld racers. The controls are easy enough for casual players to understand quickly, but there is still enough room for mastery when it comes to cornering efficiently, managing boosts, and optimizing vehicle builds for different tracks. The customization system adds far more depth than the game’s modest appearance initially suggests. Different parts directly influence handling, acceleration, top speed, durability, and special abilities, allowing players to build vehicles suited for different racing conditions and playstyles. Some upgrades focus on raw speed, while others prioritize defensive tools or offensive abilities designed to interfere with opponents. This creates an enjoyable layer of strategy where vehicle construction becomes just as important as driving skill itself. One of the most satisfying aspects of Gotcha Racing 2nd is the sense of continuous progression. New parts are unlocked constantly, and even duplicate components remain useful because weaker items can be fused together to strengthen stronger equipment. This prevents the upgrade system from feeling wasteful and encourages players to keep experimenting with new combinations. The progression loop becomes highly addictive because every race offers the possibility of discovering a better setup or improving an existing build. The game also includes a respectable amount of content. Multiple tracks, Grand Prix events, Time Attack challenges, and multiplayer modes help keep the experience entertaining for longer than expected. Difficulty gradually increases throughout the campaign, encouraging players to refine both their driving skills and their vehicle setups. Multiplayer races become especially entertaining because the various special abilities and power-ups create chaotic and unpredictable moments during close competitions. Special abilities help separate the game from more traditional arcade racers. Speed boosts, defensive barriers, and offensive attacks can all dramatically change the outcome of races when used correctly. Timing these abilities effectively becomes an important part of strategy, particularly during tighter races where even small advantages can determine victory. The combination of racing and combat-style mechanics gives the gameplay more variety and energy than a purely speed-focused racer. Visually, Gotcha Racing 2nd embraces a colorful retro-inspired art style filled with bright tracks, small but expressive vehicles, and simple arcade-style environments. The presentation is undeniably low-budget, but the clean visuals work well for the fast-paced gameplay. Tracks remain easy to read during races, and the simple art direction complements the accessible arcade atmosphere the game is aiming for. The soundtrack supports the action with upbeat electronic music and energetic racing themes that maintain momentum throughout the campaign. Sound effects for drifting, collisions, and power-ups are functional and satisfying enough to reinforce the arcade-style feel. While the audio presentation lacks the polish and memorability of larger racing games, it still fits the game’s lighthearted tone effectively. However, the game does begin to show signs of repetition during extended sessions. Although the customization systems remain addictive, the actual racing structure changes very little over time. Many races follow the same general format, and some track layouts can begin to feel familiar after long play periods. Players looking for dramatic gameplay evolution or highly varied race modes may eventually find the experience somewhat repetitive. The presentation is also fairly modest overall. Menus, interface elements, and environmental detail feel simplistic compared to larger arcade racing titles. Some players may initially underestimate the game because of its low-budget appearance, and the visuals alone may not immediately communicate how surprisingly deep the progression systems actually are. Even with these shortcomings, Gotcha Racing 2nd succeeds because it fully understands the appeal of accessible arcade racing combined with rewarding customization mechanics. The constant pursuit of stronger parts, better builds, and faster race times creates a gameplay loop that remains entertaining well beyond the first few hours. The game may not compete with major racing franchises in terms of presentation or scale, but it delivers a charming and surprisingly addictive arcade experience built around progression and experimentation. For players who enjoy retro racing games, customization-heavy progression systems, and casual arcade competition, Gotcha Racing 2nd offers an enjoyable and content-rich experience filled with fast races and satisfying upgrades. While repetitive structure and simplistic visuals prevent it from becoming a top-tier racer, the addictive gameplay loop and strong customization systems still make it a fun and worthwhile arcade racing title. If there was a digital version of cat vomit, this game would be it.
Fun and simple racing games. I got it on sale for $2. Customization is a rabbit hole! Worth it!
