Gone Home | 💡 A Profound, Emotional Journey - Masterclass - Highly recommended | ⏱ ~3h played Objectively Score: 3-6 / 10 Personally Score: 10 / 10 (Explanation below) TL;DR 📚 A deeply moving narrative-driven experience that shows how games can be about human connection and discovery, not just combat. Gone Home creates a world full of secrets, personal stories, and emotional depth that will resonate long after you’ve put the controller down. What this game is 🔍 Gone Home is a walking simulator and narrative exploration game where you return home to find your family missing. Through notes, objects, and cassette tapes, you piece together their hidden lives, discovering not just a mystery but a personal, emotional journey. It’s about human connection and self-discovery, with no combat or traditional puzzles—just exploration and reflection. Gameplay 🎮 You walk through the Greenbriar house, uncovering secrets through environmental storytelling. Every object you interact with—whether it's a letter, a cassette tape, or a book—reveals more about the family’s hidden lives. The game is about paying attention to detail, exploring every nook and cranny, and piecing together a personal story that unfolds at your own pace. Core Loop: Explore → Collect clues → Uncover the family’s story → Become emotionally invested. There’s no urgency, no combat, just a slow, meditative discovery process that can feel like a deeply immersive puzzle of life and love. What it does well ✨ Storytelling: The narrative is subtle but powerful, with a unique blend of mystery and emotional depth. The house becomes a repository of memories, each object telling a piece of the story. 🎭 Character Depth: Even though you never directly interact with the characters, you learn so much about them through the items they left behind. 🎶 Atmosphere: The ambient soundtrack and punk cassette tapes create a nostalgic and immersive atmosphere. The music ties the story together, adding layers of emotion and context. 🏡 World-Building: The house itself feels like a living, breathing character, its details meticulously crafted to evoke a sense of place and time. Where it falls short ⚠ Visuals & Performance: The game’s visuals are dated, and the performance could use improvement, especially given the modest graphical design. ⚠ Limited Gameplay Mechanics: If you're expecting traditional gameplay, like puzzles or action, this isn’t the game for you. The experience is entirely based on exploration, which might feel slow to some. ⚠ Repetitive Objects: Some items, like tissue boxes, appear too frequently, breaking immersion at times. Replayability 🔁 Low. The emotional impact is strongest on the first playthrough. The game’s short length and lack of additional content means it’s unlikely to be played again unless you’re revisiting the emotional experience. Who should play ✅ Fans of slow-paced, emotionally driven narratives. ✅ Those who appreciate detailed environmental storytelling. ✅ Anyone interested in a personal, introspective journey over traditional action gameplay. 🚫 Those seeking fast-paced action, puzzles, or combat. 🚫 Players who prefer complex mechanics and deep gameplay systems. Technical & Value 🛠 Performance: Runs well enough, though it could benefit from graphical optimization. 🎮 Controls/UI: Simple, intuitive—easy to get into. 💰 Length: ~3-4 hours. While brief, the emotional depth of the story makes it a rewarding experience for its price. Objectively Score: 7/10 Gone Home excels in storytelling and atmosphere, but its lack of traditional gameplay mechanics and outdated visuals limit its broader appeal. Still, it offers a unique, deeply emotional experience that is unmatched in its genre. Personally Score: 10/10 On a deeply personal level, Gone Home is a masterpiece. Every object you uncover, every note you read, every corner you explore, adds up to something much greater than the sum of its parts. The game affects you emotionally—it makes you care deeply about these characters, their stories, and their journeys. It’s a rare game that transcends its mechanics, touching your heart and soul, leaving you with a lasting impression. For me, this game is a perfect 10/10—an experience that shows what video games can achieve when they break from conventional expectations. Final Verdict 🏁 Gone Home is a testament to the power of storytelling in video games. It may not be for everyone, especially those expecting traditional gameplay, but if you’re looking for an emotional, intimate journey that explores human connection, this is a game you won’t want to miss. It’s a clear example of how video games can be something more than just entertainment—they can be a deeply moving, reflective experience.

Every market we collect.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.75/day in the week to Aug 3 → 1.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Recomendo.
It says 16.9% of players got the "Completed the Game" achievement. That's higher than I thought it would be. I was truly MINUTES away from quitting the game. 3.7 hours of not caring and hoping I would at some point.
This game... it was so beautiful in so many ways... showing love in many forms and how despite how hard fate... I don't... I don't even know. The voice acting, the emotions, the finding of little things that slowly make you understand whats happening with everything all comes together to form such a picturesque game!
很生活化的游戏,不能奔跑这一点太掉好感,love story异常感人,整个故事最后戛然而止,总体好评。
As a gay, this was terrible. As a gamer, this is incredible. Don't play without tissues and alcohol.
Spooky and cozy at the same time.
I absolutely love this game and as a person who struggles with similar problems the story has touched my heart more intimately than Sam has Lonnie. Beautiful <3
