Whale, whale, whale, look who it is. Idk i felt like this was pushed to release to soon. Maybe I'll be wrong. Seen few bugs already. screen issue on deck. same ones from the demo :/ Anyways I'll Stop carping on about it. I'm about done w other cult classic MV so I'll dig into this more so Let minnow if you want to hear more.
I really can't recommend this game in it's current state, especially at full price (the price I paid). What's worse is that the dev had a Kickstarter for the game and one of the stretch goals was "Arena Mode" where you "Survive numerous waves of enemies for rich rewards." This feature is completely missing in the game. Ultimately, the entire game just feels rushed, especially at the end. Key points: * The game itself is really short. I beat it in under 4 hours and I was in no rush. * You can facetank every single boss in the game. * The pistol is mandatory for a single section and is relatively useless for the entirety of the game. * Control glyphs are grossly inconsistent. Sometimes you get keyboard and mouse input directions (press space, left click, etc.), sometimes Xbox (ABXY), sometimes PlayStation (L1, R1), and sometimes universal (top, bottom, left, right; You can see this at the water closet warp points). * The game is a fully 2D Metroidvania, but never uses the d-pad for anything, not even menu selections. * ZERO remote play support. I utilize Steam Link very often because my home is hardwired and I can use my gaming PC from anywhere in the home, be it on a TV or on my phone. I can launch the game just fine, but I cannot do anything once the game launches. I have to force kill the game, every time. The dialog throughout the game is funny and there are a few "challenge areas" that you can get extra equipment if you complete them, but it's not necessary to beat the game. There hasn't been any progress by the dev on this game since release, so I highly doubt anything will get fixed in the future. If you can get it for a few bucks, then MAYBE it's worth it, but I cannot recommend this game at this moment. Sucks, I was really looking forward to this game too.

Goldfish - Steam - Lazy Sunday miniMV Ok, this game is a mixed bag. Full disclosure I backed it at a fairly decent tier, so obviously I want it to succeed. With that said, it has a rough start and I almost bailed on it several times, but ultimately I’m glad I didn’t. On the surface it presents like a HK-like with all the regular trimmings (charms, rum flask, down pogo, etc…) and I think this is why people will be frustrated at first because it doesn’t play smooth like HK at first, but it actually gets easier as you dive in and get more powerful. Except I would actually consider this a more of a precision platformer in a MicroMV world with HK dressings. All with an almost sponge Bob esque nautical theme. If this sounds up your ally, then I definitely recommend trying it! I ended up quite enjoying the back half of the game especially and the characters and art all really standout! Also, don’t be afraid to grind out the shops, it helps tremendously imo. Especially in the very beginning. The extra flask upgrades, a sword upgrade or two, and the long sword charm are practically mandatory for some early level platforming and challenges. Say hi to Obi for me if you see it through!
Hi! I backed this game through kickstarter and these are my first impressions after playing the game for 2 hours. A pretty interesting 2D metroidvania with a beautiful art style, lots of mechanics! Incredibly beautiful pixel art, the hand drawn characters and everything is so well made. It's pretty clear that this game was made by a great pixel artist. It had tons of variation on enemies. I was pleasantly surprised on how many hand drawn characters and enemies I've met. The animations and actions of the characters where incredible and quite funny! I really enjoyed the "challenge rooms", had to play them multiple times to pass them. Very challenging, as you have to combine all of the mechanics after you unlock them all. The upgrades for your sword etc. really help and you can gather coins fast if you die multiple times like me. Also really cool environments, secret spots and boss fights. A couple of thing I believe would need a little bit more polish. The jump feels like its stopping your flow and it lives me not being able to time my jump correctly while having to deflect with my sword above. I believe the heart refill bottle should have had opposite colors (green when full and brown when empty). The options could have had a UI scale system, since the menu seemed small. Overall I'm looking forward to finishing this game! It is fantastic, just looking at the characters I want to keep on playing! I enjoy it so much when you have to combine so many mechanics at once to pass a level. Love the challenge it offers! Hope the game does great!
Awesome game. I played thru it from start to finished, completed all the Challenge rooms and all of the bosses. Very impressive for being from a single dev. I did back this game thru Kickstarter, and I am happy that what was advertised on the Kickstarter campaign, was actually carried out in the finished game. The character moves really well, jumping, dashing, pogo bouncing, etc. I played the whole game on my Steam Deck and it worked really well. The pixelated sprites are excellent, and the game is very funny. It could have been a little longer, but being from a single dev, I understand it still must have been a lot of work. Hopefully Steam Achievements are added to the game, but other than that, I would highly recommend this game to anyone that likes indie-combat-platforming-Metroidvanias. I am going to check out this devs other game on Steam, as well as keep my eye out for any future games from this dev.
Pretty solid Metroidvania! Doesn't bring anything too new to the table but I think it doesn't really need to to be something good. The humor works, the artstyle is nice to look at, combat feels nice, and it's difficult enough to present a challenge to veterans of the genre. Definitely worth checkin' out. Edit: I will say, It would be nice being able to quickly access the map without needing to open up the entire menu. I also find myself being unable to look down when platforming and trying to make decisions that I can't really see, being able to hold the joystick to look further in a certain direction would be nice. Edit 2: Okay, I keep putting my feedback here because this is literally the only way for me to communicate with Gabry ( He has no discord and doesn't respond to messages on Kickstarter ), but maybe adding some Steam Achievements would be nice? Provide some sort of incentive for doing things? Also, PLEASE tweak the respawns for touching spikes, 60% of the time I end up in a death loop and instead of taking 1 damage I take 2 or 3. Edit 3: So I know that the review above seems glowing and I said some nice things about the game. And it IS a decent Metroidvania. But the fact that I've really struggled to contact the developer, he hasn't posted any updates on including Kickstarter Stretch Goal content, and I recently discovered that a lot of Goldfish's assets are taken from a paid asset pack, I don't think I can recommend the game any longer.
I really loved this game. Awesome Hollow Knight-Lite type of Metroidvania. The pixel art is incredible, the adult themes/humor was great. I wish the game had more exposure because I think a lot of people would really enjoy it.
Un video vale mas que mil palabras........................ https://youtu.be/u5b2b6h8hHo Un curioso metroidvania de animalitos del mar
This is a fantastic 'pixel perfect' game that can be HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to fans of platfomers and metroidvania games! And it FINALLY gives toilets their well deserved dignity back :D
Solid but could use a little more polish. Also short for the price. Took 2 hours to finish the game.
