Golden Knight é um joguinho simples em Pixel Art onde você passa por algumas fases derrotando inimigos, coletando moedas e fazendo upgrades em cabanas (uma também pode ser achada no mapa do jogo, o que facilita as coisas). Você vai perceber que a cada 2 estágios os inimigos ficam mais fortes, então os upgrades se fazem necessários (aumentar o seu ataque e a sua vida). As boss fights são interessantes e apesar de achar a pixel art do jogo bonitinha de forma geral, nos chefes ela se destaca ainda mais. O que mais me incomodou no jogo foi a falta de impacto ao golpear inimigos. Ter que ficar andando para trás para continuar atacando um inimigo é ligeiramente desagradável. Outro ponto que eu acho que poderia melhorar é a sinalização das barracas. A primeira vez que passei por uma eu não soube nem o que ela fazia, acho que poderia aparecer na tela "B para salvar" e "cima para upgrades", o que deixaria o jogador bem menos perdido.

You take on the role of a knight with limited mobility and a modest reach. While he can't jump particularly high or attack from a distance, he compensates with a forward dash that helps him navigate the terrain and close gaps quickly. The gameplay itself is simple—there are no intricate mechanics to master, just straightforward platforming and combat as you make your way to the end of each stage. Enemies pose little challenge, typically falling after a few hits. While you begin with a weak sword, it can be upgraded at campsites using gold dropped by defeated foes. These campsites serve a dual purpose as both upgrade stations and save points. Players who prefer survivability over attack power can also invest in health upgrades. Though each subsequent upgrade becomes more expensive, the option to replay levels for extra gold ensures that progression never feels locked behind difficulty. Gold isn’t just obtained from enemies—it can also be found in destructible objects like barrels, pots, and even candles. Candles, in particular, serve an additional function: they frequently drop fruit that restores health. Since they’re plentiful, staying alive is rarely an issue. However, unlike enemies, which respawn when revisiting areas, destructible objects do not, limiting the amount of extra gold players can farm. Despite featuring six stages, the game is relatively short and easy, even without upgrades. Death carries no real consequences, as players retain all collected coins upon respawning at the last checkpoint. The first three stages take place in a linear forest setting, while the remaining three shift to a larger castle environment. Though the castle offers multiple paths and rooms, exploration is rarely rewarding, as most alternate routes lead to dead ends with little more than extra coins. There are no hidden secrets. Visually, the game relies on a limited set of assets, with only minor lighting changes to differentiate one stage from the next. This gives environments a repetitive feel, whether you're traversing the forest or the castle. Enemy variety is similarly sparse, with the same small pool of foes appearing throughout the adventure. Even the boss fights are simple.
