A Bloody Night Arcade Game von 2017. A Bloody Night Arcade game from 2017. You hear a scream in the middle of the night. You wake up and see your sister lying lifeless on the floor. So head to the heart of the empire to find out who ordered your sister to be killed and why. Nasty traps await you on your way, there are many of them. Simple game mechanics, but it takes a lot of practice and quickly becomes a real challenge. It's a simple, fast-paced action game where the goal is to defeat all the enemies you encounter along the way. This game starts off moderately difficult, but becomes significantly difficult to very difficult in later levels. I find it frustrating because at least I can hardly get anywhere. Suitable only for hardcore fans. For everyone, don't recommend. Here you will find my group and my archive with over 1,050 reviews.

"A Bloody Night" immerses players in a relentless frenzy of combat and revenge, offering visceral action. Its fast-paced combat system rewards precision and timing, while its dark visuals bring its world to life in stunning detail. However, the game's demand for an unreasonable 100,000 kills which detracts from the overall experience, making it unsuitable for completionists. This requirement may discourage some players and affect their enjoyment, overshadowing an otherwise captivating gameplay experience. In conclusion, "A Bloody Night" is a thrilling adventure for action game enthusiasts, but the achievement demands warrant consideration before diving in. Rating: 2/5 because it will forever sit at 93%, uncompleted. I have updated the review to positive as the developer did clear things up and confirmed that the 100k kills do not need to be in one sitting, I still do believe it is too much. A Bloody Night is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. This one plays a bit like a weak ripoff of the bargain bin 1990's game, Zeliard, but if Zeliard was really badly made. It's a medieval themed hack'n'slash platformer, not that it matters because a pixel blob is a pixel blob, and this is the kind of shovelware gamers have to put up with when developers don't know how to do 3D graphics. Or 2D graphics with any quality, either. Let's way into the (many) defects. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers, left handed gamers or gamers using AZERTY or other international keyboard layouts. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this game was never accepted on the video game console appliances it seems to have been designed for. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs. A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", Elder Leaf Studio has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. A Bloody Night didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for killing anything, trivial to get, but less than 31 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, gamers just weren't all that interested in the game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a modest spike in player counts for the game. But this only happened once, around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. A Bloody Night is relatively cheap at $3 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 9,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Finally! More games like this! Killing enemies is super fun and there is blood everywhere. Interacting with the background elements is an enjoyable extra. This game becomes better level after level and the dark version of the character is awesome. An action game that everyone should try. 10/10
