About
Going Under is a satirical dungeon crawler about exploring the cursed ruins of failed tech startups. As an unpaid intern in the dystopian city of Neo-Cascadia, you’ll wield office junk as weaponry as you make your way through the offbeat procedural dungeons beneath your company campus.
Failed businesses no longer just cease to exist--they sink beneath the earth, and their employees are cursed to wander the halls for eternity as monsters. It’s your duty to put these monsters out of their misery and repossess their assets--so that your boss can afford a new car, or something.
Battle through the remains of failed startups themed off of gig workers, dating sites, and cryptocurrency. Uncover the true motives of your employer, a carbonated drink startup known as Fizzle, and their parent company, a subscription box manufacturer with an army of helpful shipping drones. Make friends with your co-workers! Hire a freelance goblin! Date a slime! Invest in crypto! Set a rideshare on fire!
In the dungeons of Going Under, almost everything can be used as a weapon, from laptops to brooms to body pillows. Proper weapons can be found as well, but even they can break at a moment’s notice if you aren’t careful. Playing cautiously and picking the right weapon for the situation are musts if you intend on surviving your internship.
And you thought your boss was a monster. At the bottom of the dungeons lurk the founders of the cursed startups, getting rich off of investments while their employees fight amongst themselves. Defeat them and return to the surface with their enchanted relics to empower the company you work for.
As you explore, you’ll encounter powerful Skills that change the way you play. Learn them at the Cafe and they’ll show up in future runs. Use a Skill often enough, and you’ll get it “endorsed” and available to start your expeditions with. Combine multiple Skills for crazy synergies, and you’ll be cleaning house in no time.
Complete Tasks for your co-workers to gain Clout with them and unlock their unique bonuses. Learn more about Neo-Cascadia, the origins of Fizzle, and how the drone shipping empire known as Cubicle came to dominate the city. Can you save your company and yourself from going under for good?

Really good if you like dynamic combat and hate capitalism.
The game's got a pretty big amount of bugs that will never get patched, even though the game is fun, I gotta give it a bad review. Pick it if it is in a big sale or something.
As an unpaid intern I believed fighting monsters in dungeons was a bit above my pay grade and so I decided to raise a complaint to HR. I now have negative pay.
SKIP! EVEN ON SALE IT'S NOT WORTH IT Controls are super clunky. Timing dodges feel so random, distance is hard to measure make hitting an enemies difficult. The moving camera perspective makes it so hard to spot enemies and aim attacks. The controls are the biggest the reason I can't recommend this game. Also it's really buggy, objects randomly floating and clipping in walls, enemies stuck in walls, and some runs will just crash.
Honestly such a chill and fun game, pretty witty storyline too.
Good, simple game, nice for a break or when bored :)
超级好玩。不否认有不合理的地方,比如难用的翻滚,会坑自己的道具,一层就刷新的商店。但实在瑕不掩瑜,好玩的要死。画风也特别喜欢,很对胃口,运气好的话打的很爽,很解压。sisisisisisikkkkkkiiiiiiiii!!!
A wonderfully charming little roguelike! First, the positives. The art is so creative, it really evokes that "we're a corporation but we are also your friends!" type vibe. The character, monster, and world designs are likewise very well done. The writing is FANTASTIC. It is funny and extremely relevant without making one feel like they are being moralized to. The combat wasn't exactly deep, but I had a fun enough time with it. I enjoyed playing around with the additional skills and mentors in order to customize each run. Now, that's where a negative come in. I think the entire final boss sequence really made me grumpy. The entire game you have had opportunities to try out different build combinations between skills and mentors, and it really helped me feel like my play-style was viable. But for the final sequence of boss(es), you don't have the ability to do that. Furthermore, a good chunk of the skills you have used up to that point are completely useless in those specific arenas. It was extremely aggravating. It annoyed me so much that I decided to turn on assistive features (despite not needing them for the rest of the game), because the RNG heavy nature of each of these boss runs just felt like a waste of time. It didn't feel like a skill thing, it felt like a luck thing. And ya know, they helped. I still died a couple times (which further irritated me lol), but we got through it. Generally speaking, I don't think changing what kinds of builds are "allowed" in the final section of the game is a good idea, but that's just me. That said, it speaks to the absolute charm of the rest of it that I am still convinced that it is at least a 4 star game. It's fun, if a little mindless, and a nice thing to commiserate the fall of our artistic world to the sheer greed of corporations and generative AI to.
