An absolute masterpiece. The story is awesome, the graphics hold up well, the combat is stellar. Exploration is fun, but not overwhelming. Collectibles have value. Bosses are challenging but can be mastered by learning their moves, no RNG. This game is truly as close as it comes to a 10/10 experience. It runs very well too 90FPS Locked - 4K Mostly Max Settings - Ultra Quality FSR4 (optiscaler) - 9070xt

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 17: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Giga Chad Kratos
It is hard to explain the emotions you go through when you experience this game. I'm in early 30s and i have played a lot of games during my life. Only few games I considered memorable, generational games that defined what an amazing game is and God of War goes beyond this. God of War, for the lack of a better word, is a masterpiece. It is subjectively the best game made I have ever played in my life. An emotional epic that not only delivers Oscar worthy story and performances from actors but game mechanics and presentation that are brutal, satisfying and fluid. Not only it looks unbelievable and cinematic in it's the scope and engaging gameplay, it pays homage to everything that came before it in the series. I have played ALL previous God of War games and the emotions you feel playing this game having experienced the whole backstory in previous games and Kratos' history is incomparable to anything else. But even if you haven't, you will not feel left out, in this 4th part which directs the story from Greek to Norse Aesir Gods. It’s remarkable how the developers portray Kratos’s emotional evolution—transforming him from a figure defined by anger, vengeance, and rage into one shaped by sorrow, regret, love, fear, grief, discipline, and ultimately, hope. I also love the game’s dialogue—it’s powerful, memorable, and deeply inspiring on a human level. 1.Remember Boy, with great power comes with a great responsibility. 2.In moments of crisis, panic does nothing. Harness it. Let it serve you. 3.“Do not be sorry… be better” 4.“Fate is another lie told by the gods. Nothing is written that cannot be unwritten” 5.“Keep your expectations low and you will never be disappointed” 6."It is difficult to seek forgiveness when you feel unworthy" 7.“Wars are won by those willing to sacrifice everything.” 8.Boy. Listen close. I am from a land called Sparta. I made a deal with a god that cost me my soul. I killed many who were deserving. And many who were not. I killed my father... 9."The culmination of love is grief, and yet we love, despite the inevitable. We open our hearts to it. To grieve deeply is to love fully." 10.“Fate only binds you if you let it. Do what is necessary, not because it is written.” At the end of the experience I thought pacing was good and all characters had what they deserved, main and secondary characters, all of them had their respective screen time and most importantly, from a personal point of view, the story is very appealing and makes this entry something completely different than its predecessors, where they failed, this one succeeded. Even in the era of next-gen gaming in 2026, God of War (2018) still stands as one of the most ambitious titles ever created. Much like Naughty Dog, Santa Monica Studio has consistently proven itself to be a top-tier studio, delivering experiences that push both technical and narrative boundaries. In 2018 Santa Monica not only nailed it with the story but also with visuals, it’s just STUNNING! A lot of people still consider this as one of the best looking games from the PS4 catalog in 2026 and trust me, this isn’t different on PC, it’s impressive and truly shows how far gaming has gone in terms of visuals. From its breathtaking environments to its polished combat and unforgettable set pieces, the game remains visually and mechanically stunning even years later—it never feels outdated or tied to 2018. Its achievement in winning Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2018 over Red Dead Redemption 2 was surprising to many, but both titles were more than deserving of the honor. In my view, they represent the peak of storytelling in games, with characters like Arthur Morgan standing among the greatest of all time. And in the end I should say the soundtrack is my favourite part from this title. It makes you feel that something big is really happening around us with entities that are superior beings. McCreary has a very distinctive touch for this kind of scale of things and the orchestral choices are absolutely sublime for this action, let’s take “The Stranger” theme, starts slow and becomes something massive overtime, HOW AMAZING! https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3717929294 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3715784857 https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3678992327
I adore this game so incredibly much. ♥ I'm really into Norse mythology so that was definitely a great hook for me. I love the level design, the atmosphere, and the story so much. It feels like a dark norse fairy tale with a lot of whimsy and heart-wrenching moments. Boy of dad my beloved. ♥
God of War is not just a soft reboot of a legendary franchise; it is a profound reimagining that successfully strips away the mindless rage of the past to reveal something far more compelling: humanity. From the very first frame, as a visibly weathered Kratos chops wood to lay his wife to rest, the game establishes a stark, grounded weight that redefines everything we thought we knew about the Ghost of Sparta. The core of this masterpiece lies in the fragile, unspoken bond between Kratos and his young son, Atreus. Watching a god who only knows war struggle to navigate the unfamiliar territory of fatherhood adds an exquisite, melancholic layer to the journey. Santa Monica Studio pulls off a technical and artistic miracle here with its continuous, single-shot camera perspective. By never cutting away, the game ensures that you never leave Kratos’s side, making every quiet trek through the breathtaking Nordic landscapes and every frantic clash with towering beasts feel intensely intimate. Gameplay-wise, the shift in perspective brings a visceral, satisfying reinvention to the combat. The Leviathan Axe is a triumph of game design; its sheer impact, combined with the mechanic of recalling it back to Kratos’s hand, provides a loop of pure adrenaline that never gets old. The combat feels deliberately heavy, strategic, and deeply rewarding. This is beautifully coupled with a world that unravels organically around the Lake of Nine, transforming exploration into a captivating cycle of puzzle-solving and lore discovery. It is not without flaws, and certain elements momentarily disrupt the majesty of the experience. While the boss fights we do get are spectacular, the overall variety of major bosses feels surprisingly limited, often repeating reskinned trolls that diminish the sense of grand scale over time. Additionally, the role-playing elements and menu navigation can occasionally feel overly cluttered, forcing you to spend a bit too much time managing minor stat changes in armor rather than living the fantasy. Yet, God of War achieves a monumental feat. It takes a relic of gaming history and breathes new, sophisticated life into it, proving that an action game can possess both a devastating punch and a vulnerable soul. It is a cinematic triumph that reminds us how powerful interactive storytelling can truly be.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3atQyXp0uUY The transition into Norse mythology completely revitalizes the series, delivering an incredibly grounded and emotional story that keeps you heavily invested from the opening minutes. The shift to an over-the-shoulder perspective makes the combat feel brutally physical and close-up, especially with the heavy, satisfying impact of the freezing axe. Visually, the diverse mythical realms look absolutely stunning with incredible detail on everything from ancient temple stone to snow-covered ruins. On the technical front, the PC port is exceptionally well-optimized.
When this game won Game of the Year in 2018 over Red Dead Redemption 2, I honestly didn't think it deserved it. 8 years later, I finally gave it a chance, and I couldn't have been more wrong. This game completely changed my opinion. The story, gameplay, characters, and overall experience were incredible. It's easily one of the best games I've ever played and without a doubt deserves a spot in my Top 5 of all time.
