God Eater Resurrection: 9/10 I was surprised to find that the Resurrection version has more depth and better gameplay than the original PSP version. I really enjoyed the Predator Style mechanics; it significantly improved the game's overall flow. However, the side missions feel far too grindy if you're a completionist. God Eater 2 Rage Burst: 8/10 The addition of Blood Arts, Blood Bullets, and the Blood Rage system was an impressive shift from Predator Style. While I felt the story, characters, and progression in Resurrection were stronger, this is still a great game. That said, the post-game content is a bit absurd; the game tends to bombard you with multiple Aragamis at once, and the AI allies often can't keep up—only Nana can really tank while the others fall quickly. It often feels like a battle of who is more broken: you in Blood Rage, or the Aragamis with their massive damage and spam-heavy attacks.
Okay, I want to talk about Resurrection so let's go through why I dislike God Eater 2 so much really fast. Nonsensical story: So much of this story is tonal whiplash and none of it really makes sense. Slow pace: Not only does the story unfold twice as slowly as the first game's, but the entire game feels slower. Repetitiveness enforced by mechanics: Everything in the game screams at you to pick one thing to do and then to do it a truly painful amount of times. I like God Eater 2 Rage Burst on its own merits, but it is far inferior to even Gods Eater Burst (yes that is the actual title of the game, no I did not misspell any of that) on the PSP. Blood Rage is fun though. I like my diet Devil Trigger and more Monster Hunter-esque games should have something like that. Moving on to the reason you should buy this game, the purchase bonus: God Eater Resurrection. It'd be reasonable to expect the first game in the series to be antiquated, or perhaps just plain bad, but Resurrection is the third version of the same game. To compare this to Monster Hunter briefly, this would be if like there was a Monster Hunter Triple Cross, or a 2nd Monster Hunter World expansion that adds a new rank of quest beyond Master Rank. Alongside the new story arc and new Aragami, God Eater Resurrection gained new features that make the game truly stand out within the genre. The gameplay is fresh, the story is a campy fun anime plot, and the multiplayer works just fine even if you and your friends have mismatched story progress (or if you have the same story progress! You can progress the story together with no issues! You hear that Monster Hunter World!?). The characters in particular are a massive highlight for me. Everyone is so memorable, even the lesser seen side characters. There is so much love in my heart for Resurrection, and I dearly want God Eater to receive the love it deserves. This game is truly a gem, even if you need to buy a rock to get it.
Even after getting this new laptop, all the God Eater games crash often for me due to their own limitations. I sincerely want to enjoy them, especially for their modular bullets, but the game just won't work for longer than 30 minutes at a time.
两部都没有中文,明明ps版本都有完整的中文文本,语言也没有日语语音,缺少了坂本真绫和小见川千明拿什么补?
God Eater 1 Resurrection - unplayable crap at all. God Eater 2 Rage Burst - crap too but can be playable with 2x speed boost. The gameplay of that crap consists of over 9000 missions, each requiring 10 minutes of mindless LMB spamming. Although the game has a ton of combos, the developers, whatever reason, decided to restricting you to just one decent style or combo per mission... On top of that, it's stuffed with billions of worthless materials that lead to laughably insignificant upgrades dragging you even deeper into boredom. Plot of that so-called game is... nothing but default anime slop, if you're an anime fan, you might like this - otherwise, it's unlikely.
Tried both games on PSP long ago, didn't get very far. Bought all 3 GE games after playing through Code Vein and loving it. I've played all these games on my Steam Deck OLED and while I've had some stuttering problems initally, they're fixed with a simple line "taskset -c 0,2 %command%" added to launch options (don't bother with the PROTON_NO_FSYNC one you might've found on the Internet, it doesn't work). Fixed both games for me, after that, almost zero problems, save for a single black screen during one of GERs ending cutscenes). That being said, both God Eater Resurrection and God Eater 2 Rage Burst are very good, yet flawed games. I'm not sure if the series qualifies for the "hidden gem"/"cult classic" status, but I'd say it does. The aesthetics (uniforms, weapons, character/monster designs) are just dripping with that edgy 2000s anime coolness, you just love to see it. The music is made by Go Shiina, if you know that name, then it should tell you everything you need to know about the games' soundtrack. It rocks. They just don't make them like this anymore. I've played through these games when I craved some of that sweet, sweet anime cheesiness that's so sincere/earnest you can't help but find it endearing, and that's exactly what I got. While the stories aren't very deep (unless you're 14), don't try anything new nor seek to subvert your expectations, they're still very enjoyable for the most part and you should end up warming up to the majority of the cast. Sadly, I can't say the same positive things about the gameplay. Both games very much show their age here. It's not terrible, but 50 hours deep into Resurrection, the grind really started to wear me down. Granted, you don't really HAVE to grind in order to progress the main story (save for material farming to keep up with the difficulty), but there are still some things locked behind optional missions like secret characters. The Predator Styles are a great addition to GER, they add some very nice customization to your moveset and their absence is very noticeable when starting GE2RB. I guess Blood Arts are cool, too, I just wish you could equip more than one. Overall, I feel like if you're into both anime and monster hunting genre of games, the series is a must play, especially considering for how cheap you can get it these days. Like, what do you MEAN you buy one game and get the other one FOR FREE?? P.S: Ren is the best girl.
比一代好玩,子弹编辑方面有了很大的进化 but no Chinese play jb
Awesome game, played the game before in PSP unfortunately it was in Japanese so I can't fully enjoyed the game then saw that it was on steam and localized into English, now I can fully understand the description of the skills, blood arts and much more made my playthrough much better The game much like the part 1 has a very great story, the combat is very enjoyable with is elemental and weapon type weaknesses, you can also select which of the characters in the story you can bring into the mission to aid you which is great if you're not really into multiplayer, overall a worth it game to spend your time on
