Years have passed, decades maybe. Little goblin moved on, all but forgot about the great coin trouble, not even realizing that a new trouble is awaiting behind the doors!

An old-school platformer with a lot of heart. The game's controls are responsive, and the progression is well-paced. Throughout the levels, our goblin collects scattered coins which can be spent on upgrades, such as the beloved double-jump. Cleared levels can be replayed at any time, allowing him to access previously unreachable areas with his newfound abilities. For those seeking an extra challenge, the game can be completed without any upgrades, with an achievement as a reward. From time to time the goblin will encounter bosses, which, although easier compared to the levels themselves, are creative and add a nice variety to the gameplay. An interesting aspect of the game is that all the sound effects are created using the developer's voice, which may initially feel unusual and take some time to get used to. Some players may find it awkward or irritating. However, it's worth noting that the game was made by one person, and this unique approach to sound effects adds to its overall "hand-crafted" feel. It's impossible to die completely in this game. When all continues are lost, the goblin is sent to the Underworld level with infinite attempts (after all, you can't die when you're already dead), and clearing it resurrects him with 15 extra continues. This process can be repeated indefinitely, ensuring that the player won't lose all of their progress and have to start over. However, the game can still provide a challenge, especially for those aiming to collect all the coins. Overall, this game is a great choice for satisfying old-school platforming cravings. It never gets boring thanks to unique and varied level designs, enjoyable boss fights, appealing pixel art, and just the right amount of difficulty to keep the player engaged. The only minor downside is that it runs at 30 fps due to engine limitations, but it doesn't detract from the overall experience. Give it a try – you might just enjoy it. Disclaimer: I worked on the Ukrainian translation for this game.
As of now, I've given Goblins and Coins II a quick run on the Steam Deck. I've completed three maps so far. So, plenty of game left to go, but I thought I'd offer a few quick thoughts on the game so far. 1: The game plays perfectly on the Steam Deck, which is my only PC gaming venue ATM, so Deck compatibility is important to me. No issues there at all and I haven't needed to tweak anything. There was one prompt for interacting with an in game object so far (B button), but beyond that, it's been all move and jump, choose a map, or scroll through upgrades. Easy peazy. 2: The game itself has even more charm than the first game and is definitely suitable for gamers of any age. 3: I'm "die terribly because I misjudge jumps" guy when it comes to platformers, but I find the platforming challenges in this game to be pretty intuitive. 4: It's a really nice looking game and the level design is sensible. 5: It's also very much a pick up and play type game. Have 5 or 10 minutes available? You can accomplish something, and you'll never forget how to play it if you take a break for whatever reason. Anyway, that's my budget review of Goblins and Coins II. I do know the developer, but I purchased Goblins and Coins II myself with the intention of playing it at a casual pace with no obligations, so know in reading this that you are getting a review of the game rather than a fluff piece for the dev. I'd recommend giving this game a look. It's fun, cute, inexpensive, and Steam Deck compatible. Cheers.
O goblinho voltou e trouxe algumas novidades
Neat little old school platformer reminding me of games from my childhood. Graphics are cute, controls work really well and it requires some degree of skill which is always nice.
Goblin and Coins II is a adventure platformer game that features an attractive retro look with puzzle elements. Gameplay: https://youtu.be/dGdJAuMfxIM It goes the extra mile to provide a challenge. Any player who wants to completely collect everything is going to have their work cut out for them. The game features 25 levels, 5 bosses, upgrade store, 5 hidden levels and a challenging level called the Underworld. Goblin collects coins and can buy five upgrades: additional life, double jump, 99 continues, shrinking (can crawl in tunnels), seeing the invisible objects. If the goblin loses all lives/continues, they end up in the Underworld, where they must assembly leaves for Golden branch in order to resurrect with additional continues. Lots of levels require precision and consistency of focus from the player that the game can be physically exhausting if played for too long.
Really cute game, with hard puzzles for those who like clever out of the box thinking. Maybe you will notice it, maybe not, but the art is inspired by range of pop culture elements, as well as local regional architecture (at level 1). Thumbsup!
Goblin and Coins II is an old-school, 2D pixel art platformer game, with nice, hand-drawn graphics, fluid animations and simple, yet responsive control system. The main character is unarmed, so the trick is to avoid enemies or squish them by jumping on them. The game features 25 levels, filled with various enemies and environmental obstacles, along few boss fights in between. There's also a bit of puzzle elements thrown in for good measure. It's challenging, but not too hard and you can adjust the difficulty by allowing more continues when you lose all lives. However, the game is not over even if you have spent all your continues: you spawn in the Underworld and if you manage to escape it, you will be ressurected with additonal continues. Goblin and Coins II is an unique nostalgia trip to the 8-bit era, but it could also be a perfect introduction into the world of video games for your kids.
