A five-minute arcade snack that quietly eats your whole evening
Glorkian Warrior is what happens when Galaga raids a box of crayons and discovers irony. Colourful enemies rain down from above, the screen cheerfully explodes in fancy chaos, and the game keeps a straight face while cracking jokes at your expense. It feels familiar enough to pick up in seconds, but just oddball enough that you keep thinking, "One more round, just to see what else is thrown at me." The three difficulty modes range from "relaxed coffee break while your brain is on standby" to "why has everything suddenly accelerated and why am I already dead?". The middle setting is that deceptive sweet spot where you tell yourself you are here to unwind and instead find the one hands you need to play the game welded to the keyboard, muttering tactical plans that do not survive contact with the next wave. It is pleasantly cruel - never unfair enough to rage-quit, just cheeky enough to make you blame your own reflexes. What really keeps things rolling are the extra little "quests" that pop up mid-chaos. They are the kind of optional objectives that appear just often enough to make you think, "Well, now I have to stay alive long enough to finish that." Reach one and there is a brief moment of triumph, followed by the immediate realisation that you are still very much under attack. It is the arcade equivalent of being congratulated for climbing a step ladder while someone adds three more steps on top. For around 5 euros, Glorkian Warrior is a thoroughly agreeable "just five minutes" game that has absolutely no intention of letting you go after five minutes. It looks good, it sounds suitably overexcited, and its ironic humour lands without trying too hard. If you like your retro space shooters modernised, colourful and just a bit mocking, this is a very small hit to your wallet and a suspiciously large hit to your free time.

*nom nom* give me all the crackers Super fun and surprisingly deep and challenging without even having to press the fire button. This game took me by surprise. It's charm and simplicity are what keep me coming back, and it keeps me interested by not being boring somehow. There is this hook in the loop that's pretty rewarding too with the rewards system. It somehow manages to capture the feeling of playing Galaga, Space Invaders, and Arkanoid at the same time. The power ups are gratifying and fun to use, and the platforming/jumping adds just an extra little bit of spice to keep me on my toes. The art style is adorable and heart warming, and the creatures and the sound effects are great. I feel like a little boy again standing in front of the arcade a little bit, and the children encouraging me, and saying "that's ok" when I die, just warms my heart. I'm a big softy I guess? This is a fantastic game and I recommend it. Casual pick-up and play later for sure. This game is really fun and it's definitely worth checking out if you like these kinds of games: - Asteroids - Breakout - Centipede - Galaga - Galaxian - Arkanoid - Space Invaders etc.
Reseña del Videojuego: Glorkian Warrior: The Trials Of Glork

Resumen
Bueno, bueno, bueno, ¿qué tenemos aquí? ¡Es el \Glorkian Warrior: The Trials of Glork\!

I am 32 years old. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing. Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side. With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay. After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like. Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends. Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together. Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you.
Decent shoot 'em up, there's not really a story to speak of even though we get random interventions from a handful of characters and their dialogues to kinda break up the "restart" monotony. Responsive game, even auto shoots for you. The more you play the more rewards you unlock, some more useful than others. There's different powerups dropping during the level which are going to alter your gameplay. After you unlock all the possible rewards, the goal is to get the highest score you possibly can cause by that time you most likely would've beat all of the bosses. Good for what it is.
