This is a fun platformer with challenging levels and fantastic graphics/effects. I can see myself playing this game often while watching shows in the background. Definitely recommend this game to anyone that enjoys platformers with unique mechanics

Don't usually do early access, but the art style of the game appealed to me, so I gave it a go. All in all I'm satsified so far - there's still some work to be done in the game, but it's a lot of fun and there's a lot of visual polish for the game still being unreleased. If you like a challenge, game is definitely hard. Hoping devs add an easy mode to just play and enjoy the style of the game. Also, please add achievements and trading cards!
Um game de plataforma com foco na criação de níveis e desafios rápidos. Em promoção custa por volta de R$3,00 a R$3,50. A sua proposta é simples e o game não foge muito da casualidade,
Glitch's Trip is yet another of literally thousands of 2D retro platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere. It's a handheld (Nintendo Switch)/console game that's also been put on Steam as a bit of an afterthought, as it's very much designed for the handheld/console gaming audience. There's some pointless "plot" about intergalactic breweries destroying your planet, which means you need to do some precision platforming with an inprecise control scheme. There's also a bit of shooting, wall jumping, and you get a neat little shield with a timer (and you can't move when the timer is on). From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. While there are options to change the resolution for the game, all this does is scale up the simplistic 2D art assets used to make the game, which makes little or no difference to the graphics quality. Without any other substantial graphics tweaks, it's not possible for gamers to improve the lacklustre 2D visuals. The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and competence and unfortunately not all developers have the budget or talent to deliver this, despite 3D graphics cards hitting the mainstream in the 1990's. Considering this is being evaluated as a PC game, having the graphics phoned in like this isn't going to result in a high quality, visually impressive game that PC gamers are used to seeing. And yeah, this game is like a week old but they still didn't know how to do 3D graphics. In 2024. Even the Nintendo Switch that this was designed for can handle primitive 3D graphics. No excuses. The controls and game handling are a bit sluggish and floaty compared to other precision platformers like Super Meat Boy. It's janky and unsatisfying to play in comparison to the best games in the genre... and any experienced gamer will tell you, the handling, responsiveness and general gameplay feel of the control scheme must be well polished for this kind of game to succeed. Unfortunately, this is something the developer seems to have phoned in, with little to no apparent gameplay testing. They dropped the ball on this one. Because this is designed for handheld/portable gaming appliances, it carries a number of deliberate design deficiencies. Compromises were made to cater to the low power handheld gaming appliances that the game was designed for. These are unfortunate compromises and limitations that PC gamers shouldn't be forced to accept, but it's evident that PC was a second thought for the mobile game developers. The game is deficient as a result of these choices, and would have been so much better without the handicaps that designing games for low power handhelds forces upon a game. While this might run well on a Steam Deck, we must remember the vast majority of gamers here are gaming on PC. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Glitch's Trip didn't appeal much to the people who own a copy of the game, either. It has achievements, and they show us a very clear picture that the game didn't really capture any interest from gamers. The most commonly and easily attained achievement is for dying (something that playing crappy obsolete platformers would make anyone feel like doing), trivial to get, but less than 37 percent of players bothered to get that far before uninstalling the game. Hardly a success story, even the people who own this game weren't interested in it. The poor quality of this game is also reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 6 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 100,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 100,000+ games on Steam? At only $1, Glitch's Trip is still... wait a second. It's not $1? It barely looks like it's worth $1. How much is it then? FIFTEEN BUCKS!?!@??? For Nintendo Switch 2D platformer trash? WTF were they thinking? This, ladies and gentlemen, is delusion manifest. For comparison, the $15 asking price for this game could get you games like "Divinity: Original Sin 2", "Phantasmophobia" or "Valheim". Quality, professionally made games like those are frequently on sale cheaper than this. Impossible to recommend.
Играть интересно, но разрабы переборщили со сложностью
Glitch's Trip is a high-energy indie action platformer that confidently blends arcade intensity with modern design sensibilities. Developed and published by Ransacked Studios, the game delivers a tightly focused experience built around speed, precision, and constant player engagement. Rather than leaning heavily on narrative exposition or complex systems, Glitch’s Trip establishes its identity through kinetic gameplay, vibrant presentation, and a relentless demand for mechanical mastery that will resonate strongly with fans of challenging, skill-driven platformers. The premise is simple but effective, providing just enough context to motivate the action. The alien world of Verdo is under threat as its moons are drained of their vital energy by mysterious interstellar forces, and Glitch, the game’s expressive and energetic protagonist, sets out to stop it. This setup serves primarily as a thematic backdrop, allowing the game to move quickly into what it does best: throwing players into dense, hazard-filled stages where survival depends on reflexes, spatial awareness, and smart use of abilities. The light narrative framing keeps momentum high and ensures the pacing never stalls. Gameplay revolves around a hybrid of precision platforming and twin-stick shooting, giving players independent control over movement and firing direction. This design choice adds a layer of complexity that rewards dexterity and multitasking, especially as stages fill with enemies, environmental traps, and shifting hazards. Levels are compact but intense, often demanding split-second decisions and careful positioning to avoid spikes, lasers, gravity distortions, and aggressive enemy patterns. Death is frequent but rarely discouraging, thanks to instant respawns that encourage experimentation and learning through repetition. A defining feature of Glitch’s Trip is Glitch’s signature ability to “glitch out,” briefly becoming intangible and manipulating certain environmental elements. This mechanic transforms the game from a straightforward shooter-platformer into something more inventive, introducing puzzle-like navigation and timing challenges that go beyond raw reflexes. Mastery of this ability is essential, particularly in later stages where hazards are layered in ways that demand precise execution. The game excels at teaching these mechanics organically, gradually increasing complexity without overwhelming the player. Progression is structured around multiple themed worlds, each introducing new visual motifs, enemy behaviors, and environmental gimmicks. This variety keeps the experience fresh across its substantial number of handcrafted levels, ensuring that challenge escalates through new ideas rather than simply increasing difficulty. Boss encounters punctuate these sections, offering climactic tests that synthesize everything learned up to that point. These battles are fast, visually striking, and mechanically demanding, serving as memorable highlights rather than prolonged endurance tests. Visually, Glitch’s Trip embraces colorful pixel art that channels classic arcade aesthetics while remaining crisp and readable during chaotic moments. Enemy silhouettes, projectiles, and hazards are clearly defined, which is crucial given the speed at which the game operates. The art direction strikes a balance between charm and clarity, making the world feel lively without sacrificing gameplay readability. Complementing this is an energetic electronic soundtrack that maintains momentum and reinforces the game’s arcade roots, making repeated attempts feel exciting rather than tedious. Replayability is a significant part of the package. Beyond the inherent desire to perfect runs and improve performance, the game includes additional modes, difficulty options, and a built-in level editor with community sharing support. This opens the door for near-endless content once the main campaign is complete, particularly for players who enjoy user-generated challenges and competitive score chasing. These features extend the game’s lifespan well beyond its initial playthrough and encourage long-term engagement. That said, Glitch’s Trip is unapologetically demanding. Its emphasis on precision and speed means it may not appeal to players looking for a relaxed or narrative-driven experience. Some stages can feel punishing, especially for newcomers to twin-stick mechanics, and success often requires patience and persistence. However, for its target audience, this challenge is a feature rather than a flaw, reinforcing the satisfaction that comes from overcoming difficult sequences through skill rather than luck. Ultimately, Glitch’s Trip stands as a polished and confident indie title that understands its strengths and fully commits to them. It delivers fast, responsive gameplay, inventive mechanics, and a strong arcade identity that rewards dedication and mastery. For players who enjoy high-intensity platformers, tight controls, and games that push reflexes to their limits, Glitch’s Trip offers a colorful, challenging, and thoroughly engaging journey that earns its place among standout indie action games.
