The game calls itself a "classic bullet hell" but in its current state I find that misleading and can't recommend it. Here's what I observed in a few minutes: - Noticeable lag with the game running in a window. On the other hand, the player spaceship moves slowly, which helps mitigate this somewhat. - Slow ship speed is still unsuited for this kind of game. To get from the top of the bottom of the screen takes a matter of some seconds. - Super slow game pacing. You spend the first minute doing nothing but killing a few random zako and waiting for your first powerups. Playing on the hardest difficulty level just makes this worse as enemies are bullet sponges and you can't do much other than dodge. - XP system for the lulz? - HP system as well as various fairly inscrutable pickups. The only one I found that was any good was a "combat drone" which zapped enemies for a good amount of damage when I got close, but its automatic firing seemed inconsistent. In short, you're not getting the game shown in the previews without some grinding for XP and even then the ramp up seems very slow. IMO, the game would be better suited by choosing a direction - either letting the player kill things at a reasonable clip with a faster ramp-up to action, or just going all-out into the bullet dodging genre. I'm not trying to compare this to the classics of the genre, but it still falls short of my expectations. +1 for the annoying laugh when you die, though :)

i love and hate this game
my anit-virus found some malware in the game sooo yeah path: steam/steamapps/common/Git Gud or Get Rekt file: main.exe
Git Gud or Get Rekt is a bullet hell game. It has good graphics for a pixel game. It has a decent length and appropriate difficulty. Much more challenging than most. Fairly high replay value. The sound effects disappointingly did not work for me. The controls aren't the best. The gameplay can get quite tedious and boring. There is no story. The originality is poor and the game title is the cringiest I've ever seen on Steam. Personally, I didn't enjoy this game a whole bunch but I'll probably end up playing it again at some point for the bullet hell aspect. 4/10
