Before I played Laboratory, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
Hey so first of all, super cool game. I like it very much despite it being so small. A weird bug happened to me though: when I started the final boss fight, all of my perks deactivated. I could activate two of them but the third (Gun Overheat) was gone. Is this on purpose to make the final boss fight harder or is it just a bug? Anyway I really hope more bosses will be added as this is a really cool game which I would love to play more. Great job!
The game itself is very fun and the pixelated graphic is a bonus for me since I love those types of game. Every boss have their own unique attack patterns which made me play over and over while trying to learn them. There might not be a lot of bosses or levels for now but mastering the attack patterns for each boss enough to be able to win while slowly increasing the difficulty to challenge myself is a fun concept and I enjoyed it. There is a minor bug where the menu freezes and I have to restart the game, it doesn't take long but quite annoying. Another thing I really hated is that I couldn't read the skill descriptions anymore after I got them, I didn't remember what the skills does and didn't have any way of finding out. Other than that I recommend this game if you want to play a simple game where you relax but also want to be occupied with doing something.
Судя по словам разработчика это его первая игра. Для первой игры очень здорово.
"Laboratory" is a mediocre and short 2D retro pixel platformer (sigh) with a focus on bossfights on each single screen level... making this really weak compared to more "serious" entries in the old, obsolete platformer genre. Take Hollow Knight, for example. This features really godawful, lazy pixelcrap "art" instead of real graphics. It's hard to say if this was because the developer didn't have the skill to do the job of creating 3D visuals, or couldn't afford to hire someone who does, but it also doesn't matter. What matters is that this looks bad because of that decision, and that's a major deterrent to gamers. Games like Terraria and Stardew Valley succeeded despite the bad graphics, not because of them. Not every "free" game really is. There's often MTX, or content locked behind DLC, or donations being requested, or any other number of things that could mislead gamers, but in this case I'm glad to say this really does appear to be a fully free game. Nothing demonstrates a developers belief in themselves and their work than giving it away without any remuneration. This is a service to themselves, and the gaming industry, and should be applauded. Of course, just because something is free, doesn't necessarily mean it's valuable. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 4 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Not this time. This isn't worth downloading. While this won't cost you any money, you get what you pay for, and sometimes, even when the game is free, it's still not enough.
