Gimmick! is my second favorite Famicom game (alas, we live in a world where Super Mario Bros. 3 exists) and includes one of the greatest soundtracks of all time, which I say with zero exaggeration... but $15 is FELONIOUS for what is essentially a gussied up ROM with some admittedly nice bonus features. Consider coughing up five dollars on a sale (I spent three); otherwise just emulate it.

stupid egg
The original Gimmick! game was released for the Famicom™ in 1992. It was localized and released in the West - but only in Scandinavia.
While the emulation can have it's issues. Mostly w inputs. ( I think turning off V-sync helps) It's still one of the best if not THE best NES game you can play. I love this game to bits.
i can't speak for the emulation or whatever, but i did like the options (rewind, menu for save slots, etc) for what it's worth. i didn't really notice any particular issue that detracted from my experience. however. with that said. what a devilishly hard game. i got fooled by the aesthetics and did not expect gimmick to be what it is. it's a little tech marvel being an end of life NES game, but i did not expect the level of difficulty on display here. straight up devil's work. go in with the proper expectations. for most people this is a "on sale" game.
Yeah it's really good - gonna take me a while to get better at it but it runs fine and is a pleasure to play. the music is fantastic as well
