Game has so much content it's kind of nuts for being free! A lot of work to be done on this title as far as rendering buildings, glitches, bugs, etc...but again it's to be expected, it's free and there probably is not a whole lot of people on the team designing this game...with that being said, it's fun to explore the map, see what the options are to get things going! You then can do the missions, get ingredients for the bakery, make snowmen, ride around the gondolas , etc. Beautiful game, nice movement, a big thumbs up
good game
Actually unplayable so far in my run, They do not tell you the controls for M&K only for an xbox controller (MB1 = X, MB2 = B Middle Mouse button = Y and Im guessing Space = A) Game looks fun and good for the holidays. Its free so it's not too bad. DEVS WORK ON THE CAMERA CONTROLS I CANT SEE ANYTHING WHEN I ENTER A HOUSE.

Gifted was a painful headache to play... It has allot of potential to be a fun Christmas game where you explore a land of elves while completing tasks, but it has too many flaws to make it enjoyable. I gave the game as much playtime as i could before i gave up due to frustration. I had no clue what i was doing and what keys did what. All the information while playing was with an Xbox controller (which i don't have) And i couldn't figure out anything. When I first entered a house was when i ran into the painful camera that just continues to rotate the player and randomly change directions, it took me forever to figure out how to exit the house, the camera would constantly clip into walls and make it painful to go up stairs or just walk around mountains. You are constantly getting stuck so often that there is an actual "I'm Stuck" button to reset the game, which i found hilarious yet helpful. I wasn't sure where i needed to go or what the tasks i was completing where improving for the town. A better tutorial or instruction is needed for sure. The text in game seemed very blurry at times and i was unable to read, could be something on my part but i did not change the games graphical settings at all. Overall a game that could be fun but needs allot of work, the most fun i had in it was building snowman around my character and getting stuck in them. Only 355 more days till next Christmas so lets hope this game is fixed by then! - 2/10 -
Overview:
'Gifted' is a third person open world exploration game where you discover different types of activities and workshops in a Christmas filled village full of festivities and fun. Sadly though, you most likely won't be able to experience much of anything if at all due to the game being broken beyond repair. Supposedly, the idea of the game was to provide the player with a village that they had to manage, build up and roleplay in with or without other people. It's a pretty wholesome and neat idea but was quickly met with disaster after players found out you pretty much couldn't do anything properly in the game because of the lack of polish in the controls. Despite the developers openly acknowledging the game's instability, they did little to nothing to fix the issues that have been addressed and definitely don't seem to be updating the game as a whole. I absolutely love Christmas and kind of looked forward to trying this game out but to my dismay, I'll never be able to.
Gameplay:
As mentioned, the game is borderline unplayable in terms of objectives and activities because most things can't be properly interacted with (if at all) and about 90% of the game is either broken, unplayable, unfinished or ported terribly. As far as I know, all you can do in the game is walk around and explore the village as is, read some books, change the time of day, pick up a few items that do nothing, roll a snowball and ride the train that occasionally stops at certain stations. That's about it and it accounts for maybe 15 or 20% of the game. I guess it was fun for a bit as I explored but the more I ran around the more I wished I could do what the game intended the player to do such as make toys, ship materials, decorate the village and partake other various and frankly more fun activities. But being a player using a keyboard and mouse, I was completely mystified as to what the controls were. 'Gifted' was meant to be played with an Xbox controller and keyboard and mouse controls are no where to be seen. You're just sort of left to figure it out on your own and I can safely say, not all of the controls are present on the keyboard. Heck, pressing escape brings up a menu screen which you literally can't get out of cause there's no "Resume" option and pressing the "ESC" key does nothing. That's right, the only way to get back to the game is to press the "I'm Stuck" button which I'm assuming you would click if your character got stuck somewhere but the drawback is that it sends you back to the middle of town. So if you were exploring the village and accidentally pressed "ESC", you'd end up having to teleport back to the center of town and have to figure out where you were. Then comes the camera, oh man I've never worked with a camera view so bad it almost made the game unplayable. It almost seems like it moves wherever it wants and also doesn't recognize walls, floors or any surface to be solid. It just phases right through them obstructing your view until you can find a good angle to see where you are. There's no way to move the camera with your mouse as it only shifts based on where your character is looking. This made exploring houses and closed spaces practically impossible cause you can't see anything. 'Gifted' is just an extremely broken game that could've been a great Christmas themed game but was sadly abandoned by it's developers and is on the brink of being unplayable.
Controls:
Completely butchered for anyone playing on a computer without an Xbox controller nearby. Even with that being said, I'm not fully sure if Xbox controllers are fully compatible with the game. This title was ported extremely poorly and was not tested in the least bit when the developers decided to drop this game on Steam and it really shows. Controls that are shown to the player are only in Xbox format and the keyboard and mouse are completely disregarded. If you're playing this on a computer, don't. You will not be able to do majority of the things the game offers.
Graphics:
Not the best but also not something I dislike. I love the whole Christmas setting and love my festive lights like Santa loves his cookies and milk. The graphics have a claymation look to it and the world as a whole truly looks like one of those miniature villages you see in a mom and pop shop window on a snowy Christmas day. It looks even better at night when all the lights are on. That being said, there are a lot of rough areas where the shaders and textures are missing or glitching out. But I'm a sucker for Christmas and don't mind the visual style of this game at all.
Audio:
A huge let down. Honestly the Christmas vibe was definitely lacking in 'Gifted' because although the world looks like Christmas, it sure doesn't sound like Christmas. There's no festive music that plays at all during gameplay so you're just running around a happy looking village in complete dead silence with the occasional train huffing when it's nearby. Sound effects are also subpar and not great.
Multiplayer:
You can allegedly play with other people in this game via local co-op assuming it works properly. I feel like it would've been a nice casual game to play with a friend but it doesn't seem like that's going to be happening any time soon.
Conclusion/TL;DR:
'Gifted' is a poorly ported third person game where you supposedly partake in various activities and festivities. It may sound fun at first until you realize that the port is so poor that it's impossible to play the game with a standard mouse and keyboard. The camera angle is absolutely atrocious and controls are essentially non-existent. The game was meant to be played with an Xbox controller so contrary to broken controls, if you have an Xbox controller, you can give the game and shot and see if it works but being someone that has no such peripheral, I can't say whether or not the game will work properly. But as a game on Steam it is a relatively broken one.
This game is unfinished. In its current state, I cannot give it a yes. I feel this game would be better off on GameJolt or Itch.io rather than Steam. Because even with putting (Technical Prototype), it will be judged as a Steam game. Regardless, here is my review. Gifted is a charming game. I love the atmosphere of the game mainly because I am a sucker for Christmas. But it has glaring issues that need to be resolved. - The Menu Starting out with the menu. In the options menu, you have two sliders. One for the resolution and one to decide whether you want to put it in windowed, windowed-fullscreen, or fullscreen. The problem is, windowed mode is fullscreen and fullscreen is windowed. Changing the option to fullscreen mode will put it in windowed which bugged me. It didn't break the game, it was just a minor annoyance knowing that it existed in that state. Otherwise, I liked the menu. It was simple and charming. -The Gameplay I could not figure out what to do in this game. I wasn't even sure there was gameplay involved. A tutorial for this game would have been nice. Just a small thing to nudge you into getting started with this game. But, I couldn't figure out how to play it. So I just took this game as a walking simulator. -Looks Well, declaring this game as a walking simulator, it should at least look nice. And I can say, it looks okay. They need to texture the buildings but the modelling done is impressive. Especially on the trains. This game has the potential to be great looking with a few more updates. And, judging by the icon of the game on the taskbar, this game was made in Unreal Engine. I have designed a few levels with Unreal Engine myself, and I just wanted to request for the devs to make a sundisc. There is a plugin that comes with Unreal Engine that controls sundisc placement in the sky. This would just add a small bit of realism that I would personally enjoy. But, with a bit more detailing done, this game can be great in the looks department. -UI The UI is bad. There is motion blur that you can't turn off and all button prompts are for XBOX controls. There are no keyboard controls on a PC port which is annoying. That's all for the UI, though. -Bugs * I found a bug with the elevator (To the right of spawn). When the elevator comes back up, it doesn't go up all the way and doesn't let you out. * The camera is janky. Especially in confined spaces (Train tunnels, indoors). But even outside, you can't control it on its own. It faces to where your character is facing, but pans really slowly. -Overall I cannot recommend this game. It is unfinished in its current state and is lacking on the content side. I hope this review doesn't dishearten the developers though. Making a game is tough. Especially your first one. Once you get used to it all, it'll get better. So I hope that Sky Giant Studios keeps making games and trying new things. One of their games could be one of the greats someday.
CHRISTMAS CAME EARLY LADS
Je m'attendais à rien et je suis quand même déçu.
I probably play this for about 5-10 minutes every December since it came out. It's one of my favorite traditions.
