Underrated gem. Here's a breakdown: Story: 8/10: Excellent. Writing: 9/10: Very well written. Characters are great. Some scenes early on could have done with a second pass, but it was still plenty easy to read and understand. Dark mode: 1/1. Has dark mode Branching elements: (Light spoilers)
5/10. Not so great. From my experimentation, only the choices during the second act seemed to determine the ending? I've not tried all the routes though so I could be missing something.
Attention to detail: 6/10. Inconsistent. Sometimes very attentive to player choice, sometimes dismissive. Immersion: 10/10. FELT LIKE A GHOST. (Extra impressive given it's text based.) Sound design: Utter silence/10 ??? : 10/10
The game last a bit more than 5 hours (I played without wifi so Steam doesn't count that T-T), and it was worth it! I only did one playthrough, but I think I will do another one in the futur. I enjoyed the story, and you have the possibility to be either nice, an annoying spirit, sometime a sassy one or a straight up evil ghost. Because you can chose 3 skills from 5 available, it gives the game a bit of replayability I beleive, and the individual story of the family members living in your house were all interesting. My review is good, but I think it is because I am the public for those types of game. I had encountered 1 or 2 bugs, but nothing too serious, and it didn't stop me from doing the game in one day (I was really hooked)

Often confusing but not bad And you can do a lot of fun stuff as a ghost here I mostly enjoyed the game although I got a kinda bad ending, I'm not sure why
I typically don't dive into a lot of reading, but having experienced Morton Newberry's storytelling prowess in his previous game, 'Highlands Deepwaters,' I couldn't resist giving his latest creation, 'Ghost Simulator,' a go. The level of narrative craftsmanship in this game is nothing short of remarkable. It effortlessly immerses me in a cinematic experience where I become the protagonist. 'Ghost Simulator' has a way of evoking a wide range of emotions, and what's truly astonishing is how vividly it paints each scene in my mind. While I still have plenty more to explore, I'm confident in labeling this game as an absolute masterpiece in the making.
Not worth the cost of admission. Cool concept, but the code pathing is off (several times, characters contradict themselves/the world state, or you can take an action that doesn't make sense with what you previously did). Plus, the story doesn't do as much with this concept as it could. You're mostly just playing matchmaker for a family of idiots.
Крепкий середняк.
Loved it so much! Beginning was nice, it dragged a little in the middle but how the author concluded everything was the best portion for me. Satisfying epilogues were given for all of the characters, provided that you had a good end for every one of them. Loved it, hope to find more IFs with satisfying conclusions.
It's good so far.
Really enjoyed the story.
If you play these types of games to test the level of 'evil' you can be.. you'll be happy with this one. Far too often my options to live out my evil fantasies within interactive media are hampered by the developer or writer's pesky 'morality.' I'm not sure what it says about me that I love being as evil as possible in every video game and CYOA I play but.. if you're a freak like me you will dig this one!
