Follow "First Person Exploration and Puzzle Games" for more games like this!
This game is an asset-flip. Our experience: • At the start of the game, everyone chooses a character. It doesn't matter which character you choose, because everyone ends up as the same character anyways. • The game itself has no UI. None. There is no indication when things are interactable; no mention of what your current goal is; no health or stamina bars. Nothing. • One of my friends said "oh god, is this another one of those ♥♥♥♥♥♥ asset flips where you need to collect 8 things?" Immediately after that, we found a note telling us we need to collect 8 things. • When the enemy catches you, there is no death animation or any indication that you're actually dead. You just drop your flashlight and, that's it, your friends can no longer see you. • Except that... if the enemy catches you again while you're dead, then a death animation plays, and everything turns grayscale. So I guess you can die while dead? • While you're dead, the enemy still chases you (lol?). You can also still block its movement. We used this to trap it in a bush and beat one of the levels. • The saloon map is, plank-for-plank, exactly the same as the map in another one of these "coop horror" games. Though none of us can remember the name of the other game, both games clearly just purchased an asset and threw it in. • On the saloon map, all four of us got stuck in various parts of the map, soft-locking the game. • The Steam page mentions features such as "XP", "cosmetics", "proximity chat", and ways of defeating the enemy. We played through the entire game and didn't encounter any of these. The tl;dr is that this game is not worth playing, except as a joke.
For a first game from a solo developer, this is a promising start to a development career. While there are areas that need improvement, the potential is evident. -cannot start the game from Steam; .exe is broken and must be started within game files -Sensitivity is set to max from the get-go, and the fov is fisheye, which needs to be adjusted within the first few seconds of the game. Maps seem to be common assets from the free library, as they can be found in other games with just a few added items and halls. -The game would greatly benefit from a user interface that guides the player on what to do or find next. For instance, after reading the notes, it should update as an objective, making it easier for the player to progress. -Suttle outlines to items of importance should be added. The whispers help, but it's extremely hard to grab the items unless you spam the pickup button. -the ghost/monster/entity tracks through floors, so it will chase you while in the school, being above or below you. the tracking needs to be fixed -the medium map for the school is unnecessarily large and very linear in design, It is hard to find what you need with no outlines/sounds on the items, and I had to spam click to find said item. -The Hospital had cool features like the spawn, but other than that it became the same map I've played in another game, following the tasks was a headache and I could not find where I needed to go due to no hints/sounds/outline of any items The game needs tons of improvements to be fun and encouraging to play. It's too bland, and with the lack of quality-of-life features that would make the game easier to understand, it's a solid 3/10 as the game stands. we had tons of laughs at how goofy Hank looked and the entity. This is a great start! These are just some areas for improvement to further your development career. Keep up the good work and best of luck!
First off good start to making video games keep up the good work but there are a good bit of issues. 1. Used maps from other games 2. When you get seen by the ghost it stays agroed on you no matter how far you go 3. When you die and are using the bottles it doesn't seem to distract the ghost or even stun 4. The game can't be started from steam you have to start it through the file That's just from the 47 minutes I've played it but like I said this probably is your first game maybe through a good bit of updates it'll be good because it gave me a slenderman kind feel. Keep up the good work and I hope to see more games from you.
