About
Geometry Defense: Infinite is mainly modeled after the WC3 tower defense mods and why mazing is a core part of the game. Some differences you will notice is that enemies cannot destroy towers and the speed of the game.
The design goal of GD is sort of "anti-TD" in that playing idly will be punished. My goal with each mechanic is to force player action and higher actions per minute (APM). Enemies are designed to annoy you and disable your towers in other ways. I understand this is not for everyone but there are many really great tower defense games out there if you want something more traditional.
Amazing Gameplay - define the enemies path to maximize tower damage.
Cool Towers - with 3 levels and 2 upgrade paths.
Powerful Elements - damage types with different status effects.
Awesome Abilities - for dispatching foes that rush past your defenses.
Unique Enemies - give purpose to your towers and abilities.
Challenging Bosses - challenge your skill against these special enemies.
Expansive Research Lab - with tons of upgrades, improve nearly every stat.
Campaign Missions - defend the Sol System from the geometric invaders and unlock new abilities.
Endless Challenge - infinite/incremental waves with a variety of configurations using procedural wave generation.
Endless(er) Dev - chance to provide input and have a meaningful impact on the direction of the game.

Geometry Defense: Infinite – простенький Tower Defense.
«Geometry Defense: Infinite»
A review copy was provided by the developer.

Game Summary:
I will admit, I'm unfamiliar with the mobile ports of this game, but I am impressed with what I see, considering it's being made by a single person. It's a competently designed tower-defense game that is logically laid out and has a simple UI. Placing towers is quick and easy, with a small description for each tower type, and a secondary confirm button so you don't misplace a tower with a single misclick. I will mention that as of my playing and reviewing this game, Saturn-Neptune are still a WIP. Maybe we can hold out for a tongue-in-cheek Pluto in the future? There are 12 endless boards as well.
Pros:
• Normal mode is more lenient then I expected. Many tower defense games make you restart the entire stage or lose out on significant rewards for letting a small amount of enemies slip by, but it's fairly reasonable here. However, If you want all the stars, it does fall back on typical TD convention, and you can't let a single enemy get by. • Endless mode is also more lenient then I would have guessed, for much the same reason. On my first attempt, after leveling up some stats, I made it past 100 levels, and got a significant boost in research. I recommend the bottom tree first for power-leveling/research. • Thankfully, despite the name, it's not just bland triangles, squares (okay, one enemy is a square), circles, etc. you're looking at. The shapes have color, movement, and as towers level up, take on more complex forms. Minimalism doesn't need to be shabby or drab. • I love that you can push a button to see the route the enemies are taking. It's such a simple idea, but very handy to try and figure out optimal tower placement. • There are more abilities than when I was first trying the game, and they are very helpful in beating back enemies. It's always nice to have options. • The art style is simple, effective, and very colorful. • The music suits the game perfectly.
Cons:
• The music is fitting, but I don't think there's very many songs in the game. If you also get annoyed by the sound effects, like I did, I'd suggest muting the game and having background music playing. • I don't THINK all of the colors on the screen would be an epileptic risk, but when playing endless stages, the screen fills up with several bright colors. • I had difficulty working with the resolution and settings the first few times launching the game. It seems to have cleared up now though. • When you get several towers, some of which have grating sounds when they fire, it can get VERY noisy and annoying.
Hoping For:
• If the highest levels of research gave a more profound effect than a stat boost, it'd be more motivating to level everything up. For instance, giving a special effect to a tower that's fully maxed out, or granting you a new ability or tower with multiple effects. There's an achievement for having 1,000,000 unspent credits, which seems insane to me. So, it'd be interesting if there was an OP tower you could buy or upgrade to that costs more than normal, but only if you max one of the research branches. • With the title of Geometry Defense: Infinite this game will hopefully allow for modding. Being able to play user-made boards would expand the game without the lone designer needing to put several more man-hours in. Even being able to tweak the color palettes would be fun.
Conclusion:
From my time with the game, it seems there's a significant amount of leveling up possible, (it'd take a LONG time to max everything) but I don't think there's enough levels in the game to justify how much grinding you'd put in for it. That's why I think modding would be very beneficial to this game. Additionally, since there isn't a story or other elements to spice up the gameplay, this is a tower-defense game you'd play because you love these games. Overall, I'd say there's enough here to at least like, if not love, and would recommend this to fans of the genre. Just try to remember, you're not attempting to protect math, but destroy geometric shapes.
I would love to recommend this game. The art and style works. The dealbreaker for me is the awkward interface. This is my complaint with many games that are developed primarily for other platforms and ported to the PC as an afterthought. Building towers and walls is an annoying experience. The escape key doesn't bring up the menu. Another sticking point is the inability to build while paused. I like being able to plan and find it frustrating that I'm not really able to do so in the middle of a level. My personal TD recommendations are Plants vs Zombies and Dungeon Warfare. I would pass on this one, at least for now. All that said, I'm rooting for the poor guy who is single-handedly developing this. With a few tweaks to minimize the GUI pain points, this could be a solid PC game.
An enjoyable "clicker" style Tower Defense - it can get quite hectic fairly quickly. Graphics are more than adequate for this minimalist style of game - they remind me a bit of the excellent Project Myriad (albeit it is a much more measured game). Would like to see the tower selection graphic "disappear" once the selection is confirmed, instead of giving the upgrade option display - when you are rushed to install towers, it is a bit of a nuisance.
Geometry Defense: Infinite - is it worth playing?
Btw, don't get fooled by my playtime, I played it on phone a lot too - it's free here
Updates
So as you can see, there wasn't any update for a very long time. However, after talking with developer on his discord server the update is coming and this projects isn't abandoned. There are a lot of things coming in 1.7
Difficulty
Wether you're new to TD games or not, this game may be hard for you at the start. But after few plays and getting to know how towers are working, it should be easier.
Community
Community in this game isn't that big, I'd say it's small. It doesn't mean you can't have fun in this game and even if you'll get any errors, you can ask for help on official discord server
Price
Is it good? Is this game worth this price? Yes, definitely. If you like tower defense games you should try this one.
Rating
Note: I do not have access to 1.7 in any form, rating of it is based on what will be introduced in this version

[th]Category[/th] [th]Currently[/th] [th]Release 1.7[/th]

Gameplay 7.5 9

Enemies 6 8

Graphics 8.5 9

Controls 10 10

Bugs (noticable: 10 - yes; 0 - no) 0 ?

There are some other things that I'm not sure about if they'll be in 1.7 such as more modes (pvp and co-op). Also this is my and only my opinion. You can agree or disagree with it. This review is also based on my experience and not anyone elses. In the overall if you really really like tower defense, go ahead and buy this game - you won't regret it, trust me. There's lots of content and there is even more coming. This game has potential and it's not being wasted.
Build your own maze. Gather research-credits until you can get enough upgrades to steamroll increasingly harder maps/difficulties. I actually think this TD is both mindless and repetetive, and it doesn't allow for any longer play sessions or you might go stupid permanently. But after a hard day's work some mindless carpetbombing might be exactly what you are looking for. (Carpetbombing = press 1, drop nuke, repeat.) Lacking in strategy, yes. But the upgrade-progression still feels rewarding, and even shorter sessions is likely to allow you to afford some sort of upgrade. So thumbs up, but that is having the early access-label in mind. I'm not so sure I'd be so nice if it wasn't there! (sorry for sounding like such a pompous ass, I do like the screenshakes and color-explosions and mobs popping under my nukes. You can tell someone has worked hard on those details!)
