My Experience My co-op partner and I just finished playing Gelly Break Deluxe through Steam's Remote Play Together and we thought it was excellent. It would make sense to worry how such a twitchy platformer/top-down shooter would fare with streaming video, but outside of one instance when we perished after my partner lost the video stream, everything went smoothly. The mechanics of Gelly Break Deluxe are simple. You'll both play as little "gellies," one orange and one green. Most of the time, you'll be stacked on top of one another. The player on the top will use their controller stick in twin-stick shooter fashion to shoot projectiles, while the player on the bottom will navigate and jump. At any time, both players can press a button on their controller to switch positions, meaning that the navigating/jumping player will now be in the turret position and vice versa. There are green platforms and bounce pads that can only be used when the green player is on the bottom (navigating), while there are orange platforms and bounce pads that can only be used when the orange player is on the bottom. The only other thing to note is that if your gellies switch positions near a pane of glass, you can crack it. Multiple cracks can shatter the glass completely. The game escalates in difficulty as it creates more challenging jumps from orange>green platforms or green>orange platforms that make you switch positions in mid-air. It will also introduce time pressure more often as you progress, demanding that you be more and more efficient with your jumps and switches. There are multiple fun boss fights that require you to weave all of your skills together: accurate shooting with your turret, and timely and targeted switches to platform and shatter important glass panes & panels. The most common mistake that you and your co-op partner will make will be falling into a pit or hole when you haven't coordinated a position switch correctly, and the game is not particularly punishing in these instances. You'll be teleported back onto the last platform you were on and you'll lose a little of your health. Luckily, health-recovering items are common - my partner called these "sandwiches" while I thought they looked like watermelons. Eventually, we landed on calling them "watermelon sandwiches" (you can see one on the store page in screenshot #5). The only things we didn't like in the game are the incessant comments from the gellies that you encounter all the time while exploring levels (look, we get it, the Evil Blob is a bad guy) and how depth can be difficult to gauge in some of the horizontal jumps you're asked to make. If you think you'd enjoy a colorful, cooperative platformer/top-down shooter, give Gelly Break Deluxe a try. Although the mechanics are simple, my co-op partner often commented while we played that the game requires "a different way of thinking," which I can agree with. The game goes on sale often and you'll only need one copy, so what are you waiting for?
normal stages are boring. seemed like it had good boss fights but normal stages feel like it was made for a 5 year olds.
we need chinese, we need chinese, we need chinese. we need Keyb+mouse, we need Keyb+mouse, we need Keyb+mouse.
Me and my wife beat 100%. Me using UEVR and she looking at the TV. Really awesome small little gem. Highly recommended for a little coop session. Great Work Devs! :)
I played this solo. Pretty basic platformer but if you like this type of games try it! Probably even better with a friend. My full playthrough: https://youtu.be/OGoBAw5AJD0 And 100% it afterwards: https://youtu.be/erS2xOeSSX4
super
便宜好玩,来个好友一起玩更好
Good 3D platformer with funny coop mechanics.
Even though my teammate and I aren't the best, we had a lot of fun, unfortunately the final boss was lucky. You break the glass pane, then fall down and it can happen that the floor is orange, but you land with the green character and thus take unnecessary damage. The next time the platform might be green, but you land with the orange player and causes unnecessary damage again. It is recommended to play through it once
