An old favorite that I was lucky enough to play again in the "Reloaded" version. The updates look great and the gameplay still feels great. Squad commands feel a little "wonky", but it was never about that at the beginning. You can lose squad members and they'll randomly pop up later, but still such a GREAT game.
Gears of War 1 has aged like milk. A fresh coat of paint can't hide that. The AI is brain dead, the combat encounters all sort of blend together, and the story, which was half assed at the time it came out, doesn't fare any better 20 years later. When I say the AI is braindead, I'm not exagerating. Several times enemies ran up to cover and then just sort of stood there. My NPC teammates would spin in circles behind me regularly. When the enemies started spawning out of the emergence holes, they all came out one at a time, letting me easily gun them down, wait for the next, gun that one down, and repeat. It was boring as hell. If I paid more than 10 bucks for this, I'd be pissed.

Legendary game, nostalgic AF. Unfortunately game isn't to poppin, takes anywhere 3-10 mins to find a game under most queue categories.
Really disappointing version of Gears of War 1. The original game and ultimate edition are the best way to play Gears 1. The base game is really great still, unfortunately this just has some wacky new bugs and issues in it like pop ins and such.
