Sorry this sucks. It looks more like a demo than anything. I did try to Google to find out what you're supposed to do with this but meh. You literally click and a plant pops up. There's not much going on as was promised.

Gardener Plant Creator is not a game. Games contain meaningful gamelike interaction and game loops, which are absent in this software. Instead of being a game, Gardener Plant Creator is a basic tech demo, it's a small subset of functionality for what's supposed to go into a full game called "Gardener". Basically you can "create" "procedurally generated" plants... ugh, what a terrible idea. Obviously Procgen must never be used as a substitute for content as the developer of this application is trying to do... and also besides the point. This useless software app is positioned on Steam as a game for one reason only: To try and generate interest and potential sales for the "Gardener" game that the developer is advertising here. And that's not okay, either. For those unfamiliar with what actually makes something a game, a "game loop" describes the interaction and feedback a gamer has when playing a game. Tetris, for example, has a game loop where a random block appears, the gamer interacts with the block to position it, and then the game decides if that finishes a row or not, increases the players score if any rows were completed, then gives the gamer another block to position. Counter-Strike has a game loop where a player seeks another player, tests their skill against that player by shooting them or being shot, the computer rewards the player if they win, and then if the player survives, they repeat that loop. There's no loop here, no true interactive feedback. It simply is not a game, it cannot be "played". This has misleadingly been launched in the "Games" section of Steam instead of the "Software" section. This is a common mistake for developers who are new to Steam, or don't understand the difference between games and software which isn't a game. It seems this software published incorrectly as a game is simply lack of experience/knowledge of the correct process. Here's a link for the process to publish non-game software on Steam: Steam Developer Help With Software Publishing It's unfortunate this process was not known about/followed, resulting in a software application being published in the wrong place. Publishing things which aren't games on Steam in the Games section as games is misleading to gamers and somewhat harmful, because it pollutes the Steam marketplace and takes away visibility and market exposure for genuine game developers who do the right thing and make games for gamers. There are no gameplay loops in this software, no "gameplay", no meaningful game like interaction. It's a software application, and an advertisement, and as such has no merits as a video game for gamers. Because of this, I cannot recommend this non-game software as a game to gamers.
Developer Response!
The developer has weighed in to inform everyone they didn't read the Developer Usage Rules for Steam "partners", or they deliberately ignored the part where Valve says:
Though it may be tempting, not every review needs to be responded to. A developer response will frequently draw more attention than the original statement, potentially turning a small issue into a much larger community discussion. It's also not a good idea to use this feature to refute customer opinions. Your direct attention can be seen as validation or a defensive attempt to silence your customers.
The first thing the developer wants everyone to know is that they are "The Main Character". You, as a gamer, don't matter. They breach Valve guidelines for developers just to complain about a fully accurate and informative review (with facts their ego doesn't like). It's evident from their attitude that they never created this product with gamers in mind. They did so to stroke their own ego. When developers, especially failed ones who would never be able to get a professional job in the industry, put themselves before gamers, we end up with garbage products like this. That explains how this trash ended up on Steam, but it doesn't excuse it. At least we finally got to meet "The Main Character". If the developer of this trashware wasn't so full of themselves, they might understand that game reviews aren't here to instruct and teach developers on the difference between what is a game and what isn't. They should know this before they publish badly made garbage on Steam that nobody wants. Game reviews are here to inform gamers about which products are of high quality, professionally made, and worth spending their hard earned money on. But the developer is so arrogant, it's all about them, so what's good for gamers is something that never crossed their mind. In fact, the developer acknowledges this is not a game, and yet clearly decided to publish it as if it was one anyway. Doing the wrong thing, on purpose, to the detriment of gamers and to ethical developers who do the right thing. Why? Because he thinks he's so much more important than you are. What a disgusting attitude from a failed developer. Nothing in the developers pointless breach of Valve guidelines changes any of the objective facts of my review. My review stands unaltered. I cannot recommend this non-game garbage to anyone. Edit: This is a little disturbing as the developer indicates they started stalking me and feverishly reading through my reviews... either just obsession with me on their part, or desperation to try find something in one of my other reviews that would somehow change the objectively terrible quality of this failed "game". Whatever their motivation, creeping on reviewers like this is not okay. The "developer" argues that I review a lot of games, therefore this game review isn't valid or truthful. Huh. If I changed all my other reviews to positive, would the graphics and gameplay of this crap game suddenly improve? No. The developer seeks any possible angle to throw shade at me personally to discredit my review. You can see what they are trying to do. If this was the only review I have ever written, would that change any of the properties of this game or alter the facts contained in my review? Of course not. My reviews for other games have no bearing on the dismal quality of this failed product. Insultingly, the "developer" delivers an outright lie, claiming, completely without basis in fact, that my review is written using generative AI. This is completely untrue. The developer attacks this review as a coping mechanism to attempt to avoid facing the facts about their failure... but this insulting dishonesty and blatant lying shows us all we need to know about this person.

how to like add more than one plant in the game tell us pls and this game is so fun anywzys
What a fun game! Play God oder gardener or God gardener? So many colours and options! And now you can train / trim the plants, make them bushy or the way you want them. Maybe we get the option to cut them into forms like Bambi or a house. Now I want a tree house, a house made by my trees. Off to try out stuff. Get the game if you like plants!
