Giving this a thumbs-up for now, with some caveats. *This is not a game*. This is a part of an upcoming game (basically a workshop creator tool) that has achievements stuck onto it. A test for the plant creator before the actual game is released, maybe? It is fun and chill. It is also very confusing at first. It takes some time to figure out what each button does- it is not well explained. Once you get used to how things work, you can start creating new plants, and unlocking new options for different plant parts (leaves, branches, flowers, fruit, trait and attributes for plants that you can assign to increase plant $$$ value). The caveats are- there is no good tutorial in the app or online yet- you'll have to teach yourself or ask questions on the forums. T he camera controls are not great- you can rotate the camera and zoom in or zoom out, but I haven't found a way to adjust the camera angle to look down on or look up from under a plant. Physics are a bit wonky. Click a fruit on the right of a plant and it may drop from the left side or center, and how things bounce and roll is a bit weird at times. Squashing fruit for gems may result in a gem popping out into a pile of leaves or twigs that you can't move, and can't click on the gem to collect it. You need gems for unlocks, so... that's an issue I hope gets addressed at some point in time. Rabbits (and sometimes deer) will get stuck on plants, piles of clipped flowers or fruit and their animation will get stuck in that spot. Rabbits will often get bounced up onto the top of a plant and get stuck there, just bouncing in place. Fruit that falls attached to parts of accidentally clipped branches become non-interactive, which just makes me *smh* a bit. If we pruned a tree in the orchards on our family farm, we would still harvest the fruit from the branch and discard the trimmed leaves and wood. This is actually one of the things that makes me grumble a bit. The biggest caveat right now is that it is not well optimized- even on a rig that well-exceeds minimum or recommended specs, there is a lot of fps spiking even after lowering all settings, GPU fans ramp up immediately, and even my water-cooled systems (2 different desktops) was seeing CPU temps rise higher than expected with the fans and coolant circulation system running harder than it seems it should have to for something like this app. Hopefully optimization passes will be done as time goes on, but it really is in Early Access stage right now, and should not be seen as feature complete and fully optimized right now. ***ACCESSIBILITY*** No text or UI scaling options- and some text or items are tiny and will be difficult for folks with some types of vision issues. No color-blindness options- you will have to see if system settings for color-blindness make things better. (I can't say if they will- I did not test this yet.) Should be fine for Deaf and HoH players- there are sound effects and background music, but none of the audio is necessary for playing or making things work. Transparent backgrounds on plant templates that will be on the right side of the screen can cause the template image to get lost in the image behind it, with no pop-up tooltip with the plant name on hover-over. This is tough even for someone with good eyesight- likely to be really frustrating for those with vision issues and certain neurological conditions. **************** All in all, it is interesting and entertaining and allows for some degree of creativity (you cannot free-form things, so expect others to create the same thing you did at some point), but if your rig barely meets minimum specs or fall slightly below them- be careful and monitor temps so you don't overheat your rig (especially on a laptop). It's free, so... why not (other than providing free content for the dev to use in the actual game someday). I am honestly not sure if I will buy the game when it finally comes out. But I will enjoy creating plants, and deleting most of my Workshop items afer a short period of time.

I just wished I knew when I started playing this game: -You cannot taste the fruit or sniff the flowers you grow in real life -You cannot pet, cook, or eat the rabbit in real life -There is no pvp option to give plants guns and do a 1v1 battle royal -You cannot enter a dating simulator mode and have romantic conversations with your plants -There is no option to mutate your plants into monsters and have them chase you through a dark cornfield -There is no option to make the Whomping Willow from Harry Potter Lesser factors to consider when getting this game: -Gametype: Plant growing based sandbox/simulator -Gameplay mostly consists of opening daily gems (which unlock plant parts/features in the menu), switching/editing plant settings and parts, and watching your plant grow with the grow animation -Controls: They do not tell you the controls so here they are: Left click to interact with UI, Right click or wasd to look around, scroll wheel to zoom in and out Settings: -Menu settings change framerate, textures, shadows, background plantes -Many fine detailed settings to change plants, leafs, branches, and fruit (tilt, length, width, size, color) -NEEDS a setting to control the speed of plant growth -No Story -Aesthetics are 3d realistic plants which have fine detail -Grow animations are decent (not really detailed and not poorly animated) -Rabbit animations are High quality -Makes decent animations/screenshots of plants for download (couldn’t get screenshot to work) -Background music: really catchy engaging epic Orchestra/violin music (would play just for music) -Audience: all ages -Game Length: However long you want to play for -Free game Notes on gems: -Reliability value in having to play the game every day to get new parts -Can’t get full grown trees for days and are stuck with regular plant because it has to be unlocked with gems -Creative mode type players not as recommended because everything isn’t unlocked (however it can be allowed with in game cheats) -Will take a long time (like days/weeks/months) to get all achievements because you have to play daily to get gems, to unlock different plants -In game cheats made by the developer: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3235015356 Will recommend it if you want a plant growing based sandbox/simulator game with epic background music to play daily. Not recommend if you are looking for a game to play with most or all plant settings unlocked (in a creative mode type way) unless you are willing to get in-game cheats.

Once you get the hang of controls it's pretty fun to mess around with. First day in and I think the more gems I unlock the more fun I'll have. If you are the type of person who likes to play in the sandbox and just relax creating random things, this is for you! :)
Gardener Plant Creator does exactly what it says on the tin: create garden plants. Create plants to your liking, using a variety of options for leaves, fruits and flowers, and branch types. While you unlock these different options by smashing your daily allotment of gems, you can also obtain more gems by smashing the fruit that drop from your plants (or you can cut the fruit off itself, but the cute bunny might be sad that it can't steal them from you). This means that it doesn't take weeks to unlock *that specific flower / leaf / branch* if you don't want it to (looking at you, oak leaf) Now that you have your basic tree / flower / shrubbery, you can adjust those basics further, such as scaling the leaf / branch / base plant length / height, and thickness, for example. Using the gems, you also unlock certain plant components, such as: - annual versus perennial growth stages, - how many nodes and branching stages your branch should have, - how many branches should come out of the main branch, - how many fruits or flowers per node, their size, - the plant size (large tree versus smol shrubbery), - and so many more... Then there's also some non-visible factors that add sale value to your plant itself, such as how much fat content and sugar your fruits have, whether they have mental effects, are drought / herbicide / frost resistant, etc. You can also upload your plant creations, and download other people's plant creations for your garden from the Steam workshop or from the Discord. An added bonus is the incredibly cute and realistic bunnies (have I mentioned the cute bunnies yet?) that you can summon with certain fruit, as well as the option to summon equally realistic and well-animated deer that will graze and hop around, using other fruit types. If you change the fruit to something they dislike, prepare to have your heart broken as they all hop / run away from your plants in disappointment. Not to worry, you will be soon distracted by the soothing / pumping music (I have no idea what to describe it as, like orchestra but more vibey, kinda relaxy but also epic awesomeness). You might even put up the game just to listen to the music, or to complete some work while your plants vibe in the background. You can also play your plant growth through the stages, see how they flower and fruit, and even trim branches and leaves (or the base, oops) even if there are no cute bunnies around. If you want your garden to look more lush, you can go to settings to adjust how many background plants you want to view, as well as the grass density, in addition to standard graphics and music settings. Speaking of the music, have I mentioned its heckin' lit? Super kudos to the developer, this is a very enjoyable sandbox game, with good quality graphics, music, and a lot of detail into how the plants work and grow. The developer is also very responsive regarding any issues that might arise, and I am excited to see how this game plugs into the full Gardener. Anyways, I have absolutely forgotten something because there is simply so much to this game, but if what I and other reviewers have described sounds like your vibe, absolutely try it out (and it's free).
Sorry this sucks. It looks more like a demo than anything. I did try to Google to find out what you're supposed to do with this but meh. You literally click and a plant pops up. There's not much going on as was promised.
Started playing Gardener because of Creatura, and I'm glad I did. The game has an incredible amount of potential, and I look forward to being with it on the journey.
Learned a bit about the language used to describe types and parts of plants.
