For the price and the lack of content, I would have to say no. However, if I just speak out the game itself, then yes! Pros: - Cute, relaxing atmosphere with easy to learn instructions. - Music. - Gardening and Animal raising. - Collection game! - Bright colors with friendly creatures. Cons: - Bugs. You are quickly aware of the amount of bugs the game still has. - Lack of content. It only takes a few hours to complete literally everything. - Only 10 achievements. I wish there was enough content to have more! - Not enough reasons to keep going after you 100% the game. For a fair price, I would say find/wait for it to be on a deep sale. This game is an adorable time passer and you do have enough to be able to spend hours hanging out, but after you have collected/completed everything...you stop having a reason to stay. I am dearly hoping in the future they add more things to do and fix a few bugs.
Played Garden of the Sea VR a year back, and... NGL, it changed something in my subconscious. Every dang time I have a dream IRL and I need to put something away, I STG it's this game's VR inventory system - where everything is in little bubbles on my wrist. No matter the dream. Always. The. Bubbles... ... ...Crazy man. Anyway, I'm so glad they released this in 'normal' mode, because as much as I love the VR version... my headset sucks. So being able to play this without the stress of tossing a coin on whether my headset will boot up or not is wonderful. One of my few gripes is the reversed inventory scroll-wheel select. In every game I've ever played in my life... scroll down is to go right and scroll up is to go left... Please, please PLEASE make an option in the settings to make it so in this game; as well as the option to organise items in the hotbar. Another nit-pick is that items in chests are impossible to see, the icons being insanely small and having to guess by vague shape which item is where. Last note; please make settings to adjust the audio. Sound effects are far too loud compared to the rest of the game. TLDR; this is a hidden gem. How more people aren't swarming it is beyond me. It's beautiful, unique and so damn charming. I love the little fellas who give the little fetch quests, so so cute. Please make them into point shop emotes c;
One of only 3 games I missed after I sold my VR headset! I was so excited when I saw it was released for non vr it is embarrassing. And to my surprise they'd added so much since I had last played! This game is so well designed to be simple enough to enjoy stress free, but with enough content and input that you feel like you're accomplishing things all the time. Probably my favourite cosy game ever and very much recommend!
Enjoyed this game alot in VR and nice to see it in pancake/flat mode Very cute art-style and enjoyed all of the animals. Enjoyed the simple gameplay, gathering resources and feeding the animals.

Super cozy and cute, it is a bit on the shorter end but that's really no issue as it's the type of game you play when you just wanna chill and not do to much so as long as you don't rush it its a really nice game. I love that you can get both the vr and none vr version, I love vr but it makes me feel so sick but I can complete the game on my pc then once I'm done I'll check out the vr version just to have a little fun. I'd def recommend this game if you don't have much free time and if your just looking for a chill game to spend a few mins on after a busy day.
In the most concise and brief of descriptions: I think this game is so much fun and silly! While playing for the first time, I was lucky enough to share the experience with others and everyone was very much in agreement that the game is a very fun and sweet one! There are still quite a few bugs as of posting in that the critters on my island would disappear on occasion (I am now down 2 little guys :< ) and there are some known issues with save files but I believe the team is working diligently to repair those things before the official launch. Something that would be nice to have is the ability to re-map your controls to be a little bit more customized, and the ability to change the in-game volume a bit more precisely than just turning the music on/off. As a whole, this game has many positives to offer! The music is very relaxing and pleasant, the creature designs are so fun and endearing, and I personally find the actual gameplay itself very silly and satisfying. I really enjoy games where I can just turn my brain off and enjoy the scenery, the gentle tasks, and the ability to just run around and explore and Garden of the Sea checks all of those boxes. I can very easily see myself playing this game through to completion and look forward to seeing what other things this company develops. I like this game a lot, and I'm really happy to have been able to enjoy it!
This is an incredibly cute and calm game. There is no time pressure or way to really fail so it is notably stress free. If you drop something in the water it will re-spawn. If you fall in the water you will re-spawn. Things can dry out but they don’t die. You can’t miss any deadlines. It’s all positive. Something that really stands out to me is that reading isn’t required to play this game. It might have specific strength as a game to play with a young child or maybe an older relative as there are no real scary parts and you can’t really fail. The crafting recipes are all visual which I found to be quite fun. The store has a unique way of purchasing items which would good practice for a child learning to count. I thought it was very cute. There is no real economy in the game or goals to achieve other than collecting the items to build required structures and a little store that sells decorative items. There is a quest line that encourages exploration but simply trying to build everything will get you through much of the game. This is a good introductory game or a calm place to relax and pet cute critters. I did struggle with the controls a little at times and there is no list of controls in the settings menu. If you get stuck in the game on mouse and keyboard try “T”. It’s a VR port so some things are a little fussy, like placing seeds on the shelf but it’s not game breaking and easily worked around. If you are sensitive to bugs there are still some things to iron out, so a little patience is required. This game took me about 10 hours to reach the credit screen, and there are still more creatures to photograph. I got stuck in a couple of places so it still has some challenges despite being so darn cute. I enjoyed my time and found this to be a pleasant game. Caution towards reaching the credits if you still have plans for your home island.I was excited to continue decorating my house, home island and to continue taking cute pictures but after reaching the credit scene my house and home island items despawned. I’d recommend buying this game at full price if you enjoy creative cosy games similar to animal crossing, enjoy gardening, fishing or calm games with no stress. For everyone else I’d recommend buying this game on sale simply due to the price vs some bugs and the length of the game. I think this game would be great to play with a child, an older parent or someone new to gaming. As mentioned reading isn't required so it's a nice accessible game. It’s very cute and I enjoyed playing Garden of the Sea for PC.
Good luck with you Gardens!
