finally, one for the GAMErs
Maybe I missed something. I was extremely disappointed by not being able to actually "play" the "sport" in question or even see it played etc.. I truly feel that there was more than one missed opportunity here, personally. Also, after having played through it almost 4 times the ending and many dialogue options did not seem to change drastically(or at all) even though I would do intentionally drastic things like, being mean to people etc. only during a few certain key notes did anything really seem to change. I understand where the other reviewers are coming from but, I don't think that there is any chance I will enjoy this even if I did try to go through and find the other hidden endings and plot lines. I did not "connect" with this, sadly.

One of my favorite narrative games. The themes are explored well and I enjoyed how realistic the multiple endings were, as no true "happy end" exists and this is reflective of the real world. When exploring any complex relationship between families many games display some grand redemption, but many individuals find themselves living their whole lives without this. Regardless of the choices you make, some of those endings will remain out of your control. If you, as the player, don't understand or find it relatable then honestly that's a great thing, the dice rolled differently from you. A bizarre yet clear (brutally clear) choose your own adventure story. Abstract and obtuse visual signifiers, that never get settled in any sense of reality, are constrasted with extremely realistic and human story/storytelling. The dialogue is harsh and strongly penned, creating characters, namely the mother, that you have clear understanding of their personality from. It's very much an abstract work of art that still has a clear tether to reality on it. I'd like the dialogue box to be a bit smaller, or be a little less gamey. It contrasts with the style of this game in a way I'm not sure I like. Near the end, things get hectic and surreal in such a way that I imagine it clears up and makes sense on a second or third playthrough. However, the story is overall pretty clear to me so I wouldn't get hung up on that. It's a quizzicle little piece of abstract art that, given it's short gametime, I would recommend quite easily to anyone. Even if they hate it, hey, it's better than nothing.
man it gets real
If it seems interesting, bookmark it, because its impossible to Google... Its a story about a life shaped by a shifting relationship with an abusive loved one. The weight of the social situations in the story is outstanding... there is a certain something that makes it ruthlessly realistic in comparison to more fantastic works.
I really liked it, a bizarre story with bizarre aesthetics, but at the same time it's also a very human story with many relatable moments. Works perfectly in VR with UEVR.
This game really stuck with me. It’s not just the atmosphere (which is amazing), but the emotional journey it takes you on. It dives into identity and family roots in a really deep, nuanced way, and by the end you’re left feeling a multitude of emotions. The atmosphere is so well done - you just kind of slip into the world without even noticing, despite its quirkiness. And the dialogue is so unsettling at times, but in a way that pulls you in even more and makes you want to see where it all goes. What I loved most is how real it feels. It really captures that struggle of trying to find your place in the world, stay true to yourself, and deal with the weight of where you come from. There’s no neat, perfect ending, and I think that’s what makes it hit harder. Definitely deserves way more recognition than it gets. Highly recommend! Definitely a new favourite of mine!
if you've ever wanted to have a harrowing and complex relationship with your mother, then this game is for you!
Amazing character design. Do I love my mom? I don’t know.
