About
You and I is a comedic, abstract FMV that offers a choose your own adventure style narrative following Mark as he gets lost in the woods with his friend Ace. However, the more time the two spend together, the stranger the two become. Make decisions based on the fractured relationship between Mark and Ace to understand what is really happening.
Navigating through the woods takes between 15 minutes and 1 hour, depending on how deeply you engage with the story and choices. The gameplay is designed for meaningful exploration, and is built around three core systems:
Two-Choice Decision System: Allowing for simple branching narratives, and easy ways of back-tracking.
Skippable Replays: Already seen a scene? You can skip them to keep the pace flowing without losing context.
Plentiful "Endings": While there are multiple unique paths and route endings to discover, the game ultimately concludes with a single, pivotal decision that determines the final outcome and reflects the full journey you’ve taken.
As the forest path unfolds and reality begins to lose meaning, where will you find yourself? How will you view Ace? How will you view Mark? Who are they together?
If The Truth is Yours, Then The Truth is That Everything is ...

It's good. very spicy, almost like the red sauce in a good mexican restaurant. You know, like at a taco truck. The red, not the green.
Oof. That's enough trying free Steam games for one day. Appreciate the creativity but it's just very odd. Sprained ankle, please kill me? No food packed on a hike, let's revert to cannibalism?
This game was so sweet and sincere. I also laughed at the CANNIBALISM. I really enjoyed it, thanks so much for making this game!

as much as I love fmv, when the main menu only has a start an exit button, it doesn't fill me with confidence. clicking start brings up non-rebindable controls (space to skip previously seen scenes, a/w/d for choices, or use a controller or mouse), and takes away what little confidence and hope was left by warning that you cannot pause during choices. at least it doesn't claim to be 'completely playable without timed input', unlike the scummy devs behind dispatch, which can still be paused while a choice is shown, it just gets hidden by the pause menu. not this one. a further disclaimer also says there is no saving and a playthrough can take anywhere between 15 minutes and an hour. instant dealbreaker, obviously. I can continue a movie where I left it on a vhs from the 80s but not in a 'game' made in 2025? ♥♥♥♥ off. there's a pause menu with esc (remember, not during choices) but it's just resume/menu, still no settings. english subtitles are hardcoded, can't remove, can't change language, nothing. and they're missing all the punctuation and have grammar issues here and there. wasn't even surprised at that point, just nodded and thought to myself, keep sinking lower, guys. and that they did. the even bigger dealbreaker is seen scenes aren't kept between playthroughs and it's INTENTIONAL, according to the people behind this dumpster fire (can't call them developers). so after finishing a playthrough, the next one will have you sit through absolutely everything again. what the ♥♥♥♥ is the point then, especially without saving? they expect people to sit in front of their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie for hours until they get all the endings, or watch the same ♥♥♥♥ over and over next time. after a game over you're put back to the beginning, chosen options marked and skippable, just make sure to never return to the menu until you're done. what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke. there's a hint of groundhog day but nothing warrants wasting the player's time like this. the whole thing is about two guys, one more annoying than the other, chewing the fat in a forest. I'll play any fmv, even if it's something I wouldn't watch as a movie, but this is just boring as hell with no redeeming qualities. comedic in places, sure, except I didn't find it funny at all, not my idea of humor. also, one second they find out there's no food, the next scene, seemingly the same day a bit later, as there's no indication of time passing, they're talking about eating each other. even if they can't make a properly functioning game, at least the movie should've been done better. if you absolutely must see all the footage over multiple sessions, without wasting more time than necessary, videos are simple mp4s and guess what, you can choose to skip already seen scenes even days later by not playing the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ file again. there's also a json file with all the choices and stuff but it's not necessary, files are called cannibalism_1, good_ending, etc. I've seen some terrible games (and 'games'), fmv or otherwise, but this is definitely up there with the worst of them in every possible way. imagine if they also applied a price tag.
pretty amazing graphics, so realistic! Awesome unexpected story, would love to see more like this!

I honestly assumed that this game would be bad but this experience was certainly one that i will not forget. This game has beautifully composed shots, funny dialogue options and sometimes is just really really goofy in the best way possible. I played through this game together with my epic girlwife and even she was REALLY impressed by it all. There are many moments in which you wonder what the actual ♥♥♥♥ is going on but being forced to come to your own conclusions just fits the overall narative really well. I've gone through every single option (yes all blackjack options) and even if the outcome was the same most times it was still worth it. (spoilers coming up) I am still trying to understand why they end up in a hospital as that just honestly dosent make any sense to me. Is everything that happened just what Mark experiences while in a coma or whatever it is. My wonderful perfect epic girlwife had the theory that Ace gave organs to Mark due to the second hospital scene and that that could be the reason for the death but the true ending makes that theory kinda not make sense. I'm personally really happy that I played througth this as it was definetly worth it! I still have many questions regarding how they end up in the hospital and what many scenes and sentences mean but having no clear answer to that and being forced to come to your own conclusions is also a really good ending Very very epic game! To end it with a famous german quote regarding games "Müsst Ihr wissen"
The biggest reason i didnt enjoy it was that i had no feeling over how much time passed in the scenario. There was not a single night scene, so assuming it was still day 1, i didnt get the point of eating each other - like, at all. That made it impossible for me to relate to the characters, sadly. It's still a good piece of work and i love the creativity, but its not at a point of recommending at this point. Much love tho <3
