About
Galactic Getaway is a wholesome life sim inspired by games like Viva Piñata. Settle into your own peaceful pocket of space and build a home that attracts adorable creatures. Every crop you grow, every decoration you craft, and every detail you put into your home determines who might arrive and who might choose to stay.
Your world begins with just the basics — trees, soil and sky. Create your character, choose your style and begin shaping a home that feels like your own.
Everything you place changes how your world feels. Some creatures are drawn to calm. Others love color and clutter. Grow glowing vegetables, gather rare resources and craft furniture and decorations to bring your vision to life.
As your world evolves, new creatures will begin to appear. Each one has its own preferences and personality. Some will visit briefly. Others might settle in if the conditions feel right. Keep changing and experimenting to learn what makes them stay.
Between farming and decorating, take time to unwind with a selection of wholesome mini-games. From pastel tank battles to spaceball and fashion shows, they’re a fun way to earn rewards and enjoy the sillier side of your getaway
Invite your friends to visit, decorate, and collect pets together. Trade decorations, team up to attract rare creatures, or just relax while your planets come to life.
Design a cozy explorer that feels like you. Choose your hairstyle, outfit, and color palette Whether you're going full pastel space-elf or rugged galactic gardener, your vibe helps shape the world around you.

This game is super cute. It is super buggy, but still super fun! I am obsessed. Overload of cuteness. My favorite part is probably fishing and befriending the animals. I am excited to see what they will add into the game.
Love this game! It's very chill, super calm and cozy... and it is just adorable. There's quite a bit to do, but you'll mostly do gardening and befriending animals. You can also go on adventures to get more resources/animals/crops. I will say the controls feel, at times, somewhat janky, but it's not too bad. Overall, this game is worth putting some time into--I daresay this one is going to be my newest gaming addiction.

now i understand why people are saying bad things about the game but you have to remember THAT THEY ARE STILL WORKING ON IT!! Of course its not gonna be perfect now...it clearly says that when you first start the game. i definitely see the potential and hope and pray that they keep giving us updates! I love the game so far!
It's like 2020 again, but without COVID! Galactic Getaway is an absolute gem that perfectly captures the cozy charm of Animal Crossing while adding the exciting exploration and creature-collecting elements of Pokémon Legends: Arceus. This unique blend creates something truly special in the cozy gaming space. The game strikes a wonderful balance between relaxing daily activities and adventurous exploration across different planets. Whether you're decorating your space habitat, befriending alien creatures, or discovering new worlds, every moment feels rewarding and peaceful. The art style is charming and the soundtrack creates the perfect atmosphere for unwinding after a long day. What impressed me most is how the game respects your time - you can play for 20 minutes or 2 hours and feel equally satisfied. The creature collection mechanics are engaging without being overwhelming, and the building/customization options give you real creative freedom. After 4 years in development, you can feel the love and attention to detail in every aspect. This is clearly a passion project, and it shows. Highly recommended for anyone looking for their next cozy gaming obsession!
The devs are very quick to reply to any bugs or glitches and they usually get those solved within a week. The game is fun and while there isn't much right now to do after you complete the current stuff, there is a lot of potential and I am excited to watch it continue to grow. I'd recommend giving it a chance and joining the discord to see how active the devs are in getting the game to grow and how open they are to feedback
Thought this was going to be a new Animal Crossing, this is as if animal crossing's pre alpha was pirated then got sent through the abyss.
This game very quickly became my favorite. The community is absolutely wonderful, the dev is very helpful and active and despite being early access, it's so fun to play! And the art style of the game is so cute! The creatures are adorable and fun to collect! Definitely recommend!
For the price, this game is a great addition for any cozy gamers. The artwork and colors are vibrant and the furniture is very cute. Enjoying it so far!
Clicked that I recommend, but please read so you can understand better if you should take the chance. I backed this game on Kickstarter, when the original premise being shown was Animal Crossing but you collect pets. It now is more you collect pets with furniture and your home being part of the game. I even backed a tier to get exclusive furniture and a pet, but with how things have gone from a strong start (backers like me were sent their copies nearly right away after the campaign ended which initially was a good sign) to where I only have 3.5 hours, none of the backer rewards I chose, my original save is stuck on an old laptop (fun fact the saves for this game doesn't use steam cloud, so you change devices, too bad, start over, which isn't as devastating since its still alpha), and the team has been let go because the kickstarter funds are gone. It isn't being aided by the fact its now just one person working on this with their full time job, as people would perceive the lack of communication as abandonment. When I played there was either a lack of quests as they slowly added them (which makes sense, its an alpha, they added them as they were ready) or bugs. And since the funds for a full team working full time are pretty much gone, this is the state its in. Now! You may be put off but if you got this far good. The scope of the game shows ambition, its not perfect but if your willing to chance it may get updates and over time the last person working on it can turn things around, it could very well be worth the time. Galactic Getaway probably should have had more time outside of the public eye of a kickstarter before the campaign began, and the negative reviews lead people to not buy, which leads to a lower chance it can ever reach a state where it could be good. As with any early access, its not guaranteed, you could buy and it remains in the same state it is now or it could be updated and meet the expectations everyone has of it. I wanted to put this review off, my original save being lost on a laptop I no longer have access to, and no other way to recover it, at least currently. But my silence on the game probably doesn't help people decide if its worth the chance, which could only hurt any updates ever arriving. For what I could get to play, it wasn't bad and I had hoped by this time I'd be reviewing a completed, or at least not in alpha game. It has the potential, for all the bugs, it does work. And as a kickstarter backer, I did at least get what I paid for in its current state which is better than backing a game that simply never made it out of the campaign. If you hope to see it reach its full potential, by all means, make the purchase. But if it still being early access and incomplete puts you off, at least wishlist in case it proves worth your time and money in the future.
Many players describe GG as "Animal Crossing in space". ;While I agree. I'm also reminded of "Viva Piñata and Stardew Valley" (sans enemy mobs). Live out your Imperialist ( dreams (peacefully) of building out a personal menagerie of creatures, plants, and treasures including but not limited to beach balls and strawberry stools. make friends sharing dad jokes while gardening, fishing, farming; redecorating your planet; and exploring space. Online community is thriving, and helpful with tips and tricks on how to complete quests and customize your planet. cozy, multiplayer, collecting; dad jokes; tanks, buildings, puffy pants; space exploration -GG.
