I very rarely write negative Steam review one okay. Usually if game bad, I just diam diam refund and move on with my life. But this one ah… walao eh… this one special case already. I feel like if I don’t write review, more innocent people later kena trap like me. First thing first: THIS GAME TRANSLATION IS NOT TRANSLATION. This is machine-generated war crime. I don’t know what developer use. Maybe free trial AI translator from 2012. Maybe auntie downstairs from pasar malam copy paste into 17 different websites then combine together. Maybe they ask microwave oven to translate. I really don’t know. The English text until cannot understand. Not “slightly awkward” ah. Not “a bit broken” ah. I mean FULL DAMAGE. Nuclear level sentence destruction. Character say one thing, subtitle become another thing. Emotional scene suddenly sound like government tax form. Romantic conversation become like malfunction GPS navigation. Sometimes I stare at the dialogue box for 2 minutes trying to decode what the hell the character trying to say. I play visual novel to relax. Not to solve ancient Sanskrit puzzle. Then the Chinese translation ah… WALAO EVEN WORSE. I Chinese educated enough to understand basic VN Chinese okay. This one I read until my ancestors also confused. Sentence structure all upside down like ikan thrown on cutting board. Every line feel like Google Translate drunk after 8 cans Tiger Beer. One sentence can have: * wrong pronouns * random tense switching * broken grammar * nonsense wording * emotional tone disappear completely * suddenly become philosophical for no reason Sometimes character supposed to be seductive. Translation make her sound like auntie asking whether you want extra taugeh in char kuey teow. And the biggest crime: NO ORIGINAL JAPANESE TEXT OPTION. WHY??? WHY WOULD YOU REMOVE THE ONLY LIFEBOAT??? If translation become disaster at least let people switch to Japanese text. Many VN players can still survive with original language plus voice acting. But noooooo. Developer lock everybody inside translation prison together. I swear the voice acting and artwork probably carrying whole game on their back like overworked Grab rider during rain season. Then come the technical issues. Aiyo. This game crash more often than my uncle Proton Wira. Every 10-15 minutes: Error popup. Freeze. Lag spike. Random issue. Sometimes text disappear. Sometimes scene stuck. Sometimes UI become possessed. I save game every 3 minutes now because trust issue already. I not even joking: At one point I scared clicking “Next” button. The game got me feeling like bomb disposal expert. “Please don’t crash please don’t crash please don’t crash—” *boom* Desktop. I spend more time rebooting than reading story. And the funniest thing? Some errors pop up in broken translation ALSO. Even the bugs speaking machine language. The mood whiplash is incredible. Scene trying to be emotional and spicy, then suddenly dialogue become: “Motherly affection increase process incomplete while favorable daughter sensation overflow.” BRO WHAT DOES THIS EVEN MEAN??? I laugh until stomach pain. This not visual novel anymore. This accidental comedy simulator. Honestly I think this game can become drinking game: Take one shot every time translation makes no sense. You die before chapter 2. I really tried to give chance okay. I genuinely did. I thought maybe intro only rough. Maybe later improve. Maybe patch fix. NOPE. Whole game feels like someone downloaded script, threw into auto-translator blender, then uploaded directly to Steam without human checking even one line. I seen fan translations from random internet people at 3AM with more passion and quality than this official release. Even those old pirated VCD subtitles from pasar malam more understandable: “You have disturb my wife emotionally!” Still clearer than this game dialogue. The saddest part ah? There might actually be decent story underneath all this rubble. Art not bad. Voice acting sounds committed. Some scenes probably intended to be emotional or funny or romantic. But the translation completely murders everything like Godzilla stepping on kindergarten. Characters have no personality because dialogue all broken. Pacing ruined because sentences unreadable. Immersion gone because every 30 seconds I laughing at nonsense wording. This is not localization. This is hostage situation. And before people say: “Just learn Japanese bro.” Eh hello. If you sell English and Chinese version on Steam, at least make it readable right? Customer not asking for Shakespeare masterpiece. We asking for BASIC HUMAN SENTENCE. Now whole experience feel like: Auntie fish seller trying live translate anime plot while cutting ikan kembung at 6AM morning. “Eh this girl ah… she say emotional feeling become entering heart movement… aiya don’t know lah buy fish first.” That kind of energy. I cannot recommend this game in current state. Unless: * you enjoy suffering * you enjoy decoding hieroglyphics * you are machine translation researcher * you want comedy material * you want test your mental strength Otherwise save your money first. Developer seriously need: 1. Proper translators 2. Proper QA testing 3. Stability fixes 4. Japanese text option 5. Somebody to actually read the script before publishing Right now this game feels unfinished, unstable, and translated by haunted calculator. I came here for visual novel. I left with linguistic trauma. 2/10. One point for art. One point for making me laugh harder than actual comedy games.
