About
Vacation Terminal is a short 2D Psychological thriller, horror and survival based visual novel with evading based puzzle elements. Following the story of two strangers, Gavriil and Yeva.
Two strangers who happened to meet by chance, both travelling together, on the same train, in the same cabin, but really with not much to talk about. But when their train derails in the middle of nowhere, they're suddenly forced to work together. Gavriil wakes up alone in a cold, pitch-black cave—his leg missing, and Yeva claiming she saved his life. There’s no sign of rescue. No way to call for help ... This was supposed to be just a short vacation.
Gavriil, an awkward guy, but still usually friendly;
Yeva, calm and level-headed as can be, but hard to approach;
... And of course you, who will be joining to see whether their vacation can get back on the right track!

It feels like reading a powerful short story. It's the story of an emotionally unstable man and an equally emotionally unstable woman. The game's content and the character artwork harmonize incredibly well. I also like the direction of the scenes and the music.
A very short novel by a small indie dev, very lovely art style, and the character designs for both protagonist and the 'antagonist' (Yeva). There's not much I could possible talk about the story itself without including spoilers, as a first visual novel made by them it's pretty alright, story's short but what can one do? That's the best a new indie could possibly do, and they are on the road of experimenting or bringing on the table new titles. Yes I discovered this game because of ManlyBadassHero, and as always I'm open on supporting indie devs by buying their products, which is why I got this game regardless I watched the whole playtrough made by MBH, but that shouldn't stop one from giving a support to these devs.
short, but the story was really cool and i liked the art style too. worth selling all the trading cards in my steam inventory for baller game :3
Writing Problems
As a no budget short story, you can not expect much, there is not a lot of room for character development. However, there are some issues worth talking about. The main problem I have is how often the story breaks immersion. This is most obvious in how Gavriil acts with a sort of light meta awareness that he is in a dangerous situation outside merely the crash, so he's always on edge about things that do not seem justified. This meta awareness and petty standoffishness causes him to be very suspicious, and thus force the plot along in a way that is not natural. Like a Deus Ex Machina, his paranoia and constant whining justifies irrational behavior that forces the plot along. This is simply bad writing, the character is acting in a manner to justify him finding plot points, rather than events in the story justifying the plot points that lead the character to seek answers. The solution, would have been some longer pre-crash story events and interactions with Yeva to justify his suspicion, paranoia, and answer seeking. Gavriil just needed to be better written in general. He is a completely unlikable character that is hard to sympathize with given his irrational behavior. When a person falls into panic, that is a brief moment of irrationality or metal shutdown. Panic is not something that is drawn out for hours and days on end because panic is a result of a persons stress response temporarily malfunctioning.
Game is Nice worth the 3 dollars in my opinion. However, It could improve on the minigame that is in there it just felt like some pngs moving and I expected more of a challenge.... The story was good enough to keep me invested but ♥♥♥♥ gavriili or whatever his name is and man Yeva kinda whack for allat bloodshed. Would Play this again but wished there was more to ending 2 I was thinking well damn now we gon be hiding from the popo or something but alas it ended...
Amazing game, 10/10 only complaint is that it wasn't longer.
I lovveee the art style of the game! I'm not exactly sure how many different endings you can get (I only got three or four I believe so I think it's kind of a short game) but really well made nonetheless!
the characters and art style were cool, i wish it was longer of a visual novel despite it being as short as it is it still gets the job done, but having more days before the 2nd and 3rd ending wouldve been great and the characters are interesting enough for it to work. but considering the price i think its actually pretty good and a interesting story but those minigames were pretty rough though
Cool artstyle and an interesting story. I agree with one of the other reviews saying that Gavriil seems a bit overly suspicious throughout the story and that it could have been better if it went a bit slower, but i still think it was a good game that is worth trying out, price is reasonable too :)
Extremely short, and has some minor story/writing issues; but for it's price and length: pretty solid.
