G-Darius HD

I remember playing this on a Playstation demo disc. The siren sound effect of the warning for the incoming battleship is etched into my brain. I'm so glad that some 30 years later, I can come back to this game and play it again. It is absolutely fantastic.

Ah, I had forgotten how much I suck at Darius (and shmups, in general lol), but I still love these games for their charm and especially their music. First couple runs were absolute disasters, getting overwhelmed by the number of bullets put onto the screen by Delta zone, and giving up because I had to keep using continues just to get partway through Eta (that really sucks the fun out of it)... and now here I am, having cleared Lambda (with one continue) and experienced the thrill of getting to [i]absolutely annihilate[/i] Fire Fossil with a four-fold beam. Patience and practice really pay off. And that's not even getting into all the things I've yet to experience for myself (I'm looking at you, Omicron). This is easily the best shmup I've ever played, hands down. Absolutely recommended for anyone who loves this genre. Only real complaint is the lack of a soundtrack DLC!

Three different Darius games with M2's typical (in the best way) spot-on emulation and extra options to make the games approachable even to beginners.

It's so sick. Everything about this game is cool as hell. The art design, soundtrack, level design, bosses, combat, strategy, etc. are all perfectly executed. I wasn't expecting much judging by the steam page, but after playing it for a while I was pleasantly surprised.

This has been one of my favorite shumps since I first played it on the Taito Memories Collection. I kept my ps2 for a long time just to be able to play this game. If you are even remotely interested in shumps or darius this is probably the essential one to get. Playing this makes me feel like I am in an arcade with the flashing lights, music flashing, and strange 3d graphics. There is a mechanic known as capture ball that lets you grab enemies like in kirby and have their powers become your own while they fight on your side that I've never seen in any other shump. You can pirate it pretty easily or buy it here but please you owe it to yourself to play this game once in your life. You'll die a million times but you will have a ton of fun doing it.
