You can read the full review here: https://medium.com/@melgacius/fur-and-fables-indie-game-review-c682f6d9a31f Fur and Fables tries to give the genre a twist by making it a group game. This comes with both positives and negatives, but overall it is a fun game, despite being on the short side. A really unique take on the Survivor genre! The bigger your party is, the harder it is to defend it. Also, you can keep party members from one session to another, making it a more interesting and diverse. Totally worth checking out!
What initially brought me in was the art style and unique party system. Gameplay needs to be refined a bit and navigation with a controller is lacking feedback in the UI. I'm going to give it a positive review, but I suggest come back when we're a bit deeper into EA or full release.

It's OK for a first commercial release and it's playable. But it's **mid**, and given how many other games there are in this particular genre that can be had for this price or less, I'd really only suggest getting this if you A: Are not playing on gamepad (movement is NOT analogue if you use a stick, and the GUI *very* frequently breaks and requires mouse control to fix more often than not.) B: You really enjoy the art style, because it looks like it looks and that's what it's going to look like for the entire 8-20 hours you'll be playing. C: You're fine with lacking QoL features and with few updates. According to the Early Access bulletin, the devs intend to exit Early Access sometime soon, and there have been a few updates and refinements since release. But the game is rough, somewhat infuriating, kinda lacking in terms of strategy compared to the typical game in the genre, and it just feels more like a proof of concept than a commercial release. Again, it's playable. And there's definitely worse games that cost more money. But if you've played a lot of swarm survivors and bullet hell games, this is arguably much closer to something like Gauntlet or Robotron than it is to something like 20 Minutes Til Dawn or Soulstone Survivors.
Fun, Fun, Fun! Love the art style and the gamplay is super. cool tale and overall will defentlly continue playing.
Video gameplay/review: https://youtu.be/hM4W_hBlxpo A fun and fairly casual survivors-like with a party based system. The synergy system is probably what's going to stand out the most, and is a nice addition. Levels feel pretty much identical, enemy variation is low, but there are quite a few upgrades/permanent unlocks and multiple classes to unlock. Combat is the usual. Control some party members who automatically attack enemies, level them up for stat increases, and pick up new party members when you can. Attacks are based on the party member's class and level upgrades are just stat increases. At level 10 your weapon changes, but aside from you won't see a huge range of different attacks. There were also no chests or other "dopamine rushes," hidden in the levels which I found surprising. I've considered them a staple of this genre. It does make me ask the question, "What make this different from the hundreds of other games in this genre?" The answer is really just the party synergy. If you have a party made up of specific classes you get an extra attack that can change the tide of battle. it works, and you find these synergies organically. The demo has a handful of levels and an endless mode. As you complete levels you unlock additional classes, at least that's how it looked. Characters retain their levels after you succeed, and eventually you can find yourself walking into battle with a crew of very highly leveled individuals. It seemed to cause some sound issues, with sound effects fighting the music making it choppy. Anyway, it's a fun game. There's easily a couple of hours of content in the current version of early access. If you like this kind of game, I see no reason why you wouldn't also enjoy this.
