This witty, wacky, turn-based strategy game is now available for Steam. In Highborn, you’re treated to a strategy game that offers an intelligent, tactical experience without the frenetic play of a traditional RTS.

I'm a huge fan of turn based strategy games like Advance Wars or Final Fantasy Tactics. Highborn is a hillarious turn based game that doesn't take itself too seriously. They recently dropped the main game and DLC prices drastically too. Now is the perfect time to pick up this fun casual game that is sure to make you laugh at least once!
All in all, this game is like that one-night stand you didn’t expect to enjoy but now you’re wondering if you should text them back. It’s short, easy to play, and pretty damn fun your first time through. But, like most one-night stands, the replay value isn’t great — unless you’re into the hardcore stuff, like chasing down those brutal achievements that’ll make you question your life choices and maybe your sanity. Controls? Simple. Which is nice, because my thumbs get bored easily. There’s not a spellbook the size of “War and Peace” here, so you won’t be juggling 37 abilities while wondering which button makes the magic death happen. Sound effects? Yeah… some of them will make you want to commit murder. Looking at you, Floyd. I don’t know who Floyd is, but I want him gone. Like… “John Wick levels of gone.” AI issues? Oh yeah. Sometimes they hide in trees like discount Rambo or get confused about who they’re trying to stab. But honestly, it’s easy enough to figure them out and spank them like the bad, bad little polygons they are. And please — don’t come here expecting Crusader Kings, Vikings of the Asgard (That's not even any game actually), or some deep, mind-bending strategy experience. This isn’t the Harvard of gaming. It’s the Chuck E. Cheese. It’s light-hearted, a little silly, and the perfect thing to waste a few hours while you wait for your HotDog to finish in the oven. Verdict: 7/10 — Would definitely play again… right after my next inappropriate decision.
Details

Myth-ic Aspriations: a wry comic turn-based gem of a game.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=130069577 You are a muscle-bound knight reuniting a fractured kingdom to defeat the dark forces of the evil lich. Daft plot, but solid turn-based wargame strategy to be had. On top of this, you can earn heaps of achievements and bonuses from completing quests in a variety of ways - so one for the completionist as well. Very highly recommended.

Summary

A witty turn-based fantasy epic that has a solid structure, great level design and campaign progression.
Pros: - a good clean turn-based wargame - solid gameplay, interesting troop types - nice forest mechanic, used to hide form enemy - special powers, spell-stones and runes all help your skillset - support fire from spell-towers and ballistas make capturing settlements a tactical necessity - great characterisation, script and is fun to play Cons: - menus a little awkward and occasionally buggy - sadly, no longer seems supported https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1748252200

See Also...
https://store.steampowered.com/app/717190
All boyflea reviews can be found at Good Indie Free Game Reviews
Грустная стратежка. Лёгкая, нудная, не смешная. Ещё и кампашки продают, каждую по отдельности. I love the genre, but this game is rather bad. It could've been OK, but lack of game balance and lame humor built up to a bad experience. Combat system and character art is OK, but not enough.
Found this game very boring. Tries to hard to be funny. Will consider edits as I play more into the game. So far its a bundle title at best. Other than a bug on first startup, runs smooth and works as intended.
An old nostalgia dose for me, remember playing this when i was just a child, doesnt disappoint.
Well, I played the mobile version a lot when I was a kid. I loved it. I couldn't stop playing it. I disconnected from it long ago, and then I purchased this version of the game. It's so bad. They re-interpreted everything, and the game is so glitchy. I hate to say this, but this game was born dead, with few fans. Don't bother, even the DLC packs don't offer discounts.
Great Game - Great Value - Get the DLC. If anything this game is way under-priced! It's one of those gems that I search Steam for. It's also a good beginner's intro to RPG style games, especially the spell casting and weighing whether or not to attack usiing brute force or spells. It can even be surprisingly difficult at times but well worth the challenge. The humor is funny too. Another great Intro RPG aspect is that you get to play a lot of different characters with different strengths and weaknesses, with all the usual archetypes like Warrior, Cleric, Mage (although they don't name them as such.) And the AI can be surprisingly clever, such as changing tactics after a save and reload. (And it is the kind of game that makes you want to see what else the Developer has made.) I'll wait a year or so and play the game again when I've largely forgotten. Good times!
