About
Welcome to Funnel Runners, where you will have your first on-site deployment with APEX Storm Monitoring Services.
A high-priority F5 tornado is approaching, and we are counting on you (and up to 7 fellow friends) to collect data, scavenge necessary information, and, of course, survive.

The weather is your worst enemy here. Tornados and storms will spawn randomly, grow stronger over time, and tear the whole map apart. Buildings will collapse piece by piece, and items will no longer be found in destroyed areas, so you must adapt quickly. Be careful not to be swept up by the wind; you may not be found again.

In this mission, you can team up with 7 other players or tackle it solo. Share gadgets, split up to cover more ground, collect necessary information and items to fix the van before the situation turns bad.
With realistic graphics and a first-person perspective, the experience brings you close to every gust of wind, distant siren, and falling piece of debris.

Scavenge the collapsing city for scattered vehicle parts, fuel, and tools. These items will allow you to repair your van and help you survive the storm. Each playthrough features randomized environments, weather, items, and problems to solve on your vehicle. No playthrough will be the same.

The good: Visually pleasing, RNG buildings, obstacles and items each round The bad: Its just too simple. The only real difficulty is if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. Live power lines shouldn't tickle you, they need to incapacitate you at the least. If you fail a minigame, you need to find a new item for the repairs. I was expecting a higher difficulty curve, the reviews are hardly close to the experience. They expect up to 8 people what was accomplished easily with 1? File this one under "Maybe later".
So after an hour of playtime, it's not exactly what I would call "fun" in it's current state. I understand the strive for realism in that tornados are chaos, but really the game comes down to rng. Even when you do get lucky and find all the stuff you need before the tornado finds you, you can't do anything afterword. You "beat" the level and move on to the next once you get the truck running. It's not a replay-able game in any sense. The most fun thing I did in my short session was throw darts at my friends face. Says enough as is.
The game is pretty much Phasmaphobia without the ghost hunting. All you do is spawn into a very small area, loot some houses while evading the tornado to repair the vehicle and go back to menu. Nothing special about it. If you can make it so you can have a much larger map, 10 times larger while driving around avoiding the storm with the boys, but can drill into the ground with the Vans drilling system so ti can be ankored, that way when the storm comes too close so your Van doesn't fly away but it can still be damaged a bit, then drive around to loot buildings and fix the van while doing your mission, and escape the area when meeting certain critera then that would have been such a better game. I do thank you guys for creating a game and taking the time to do so but add an element of control to your situation, and loss if it doesnt go our way. I thought when I saw the trailer, you are able to drive the van you use to escape the storms while having to stop and loot houses and buildings alone the way while driving to avoid the tornado and your crew having to play smart but fun, and quick. Eventually completeing missions along the way and then escape out of the tornado while you fully keep the ven repaired and on the move. Yet I was dissapointed that this is just very repetative and nothign really exciting. If they made it so you can operate your vehicle instead of it acting like one in Phasmaphobia where its just a prop and does nothing but shield you from the storm and it takes ZERO damage and you aare just safe forever if you stay inside, it just isn't exciting.

Funnel Runners - review: Though Funnel Runners is in early, early access, it needs a lot of work to justify the sale price. Here are the issues that I have with the game that isn't fun to play anymore: - The 3 second hand animation when collecting tokens, needs to go. The player can't do anything until the animation completes. When there is an objective item right in front of the player and a tornado is bearing down, its irritating to see this animation. - The animation to consume an energy drink takes 6 seconds. The player can't do anything until that animation completes just like with collecting tokens. - Doors. To enter/exit through doors is done by simply walking through them instead of an interaction button. This makes it frustrating as the player will need to wait until the door closes on its own just to walk through a building having the player be stuck by the door. - Spawn items needed to complete the session is either very minimal (tires) or nonexistent at all. - There needs to be a silhouette or an on-screen arrow pointing to the location of the truck. The main objective to Funnel Runners is to repair the vehicle before the F5 tornado consumes the town. And when exiting a house with repair items, the player will often not know where the truck is at especially when there are weather effects of rain, lightning, and the occasional tornado chasing the player. Mind you, the truck is the safe space against tornados. - And, finally, the stamina. From my playtime with Funnel Runners, I would drain stamina every minute and wait 10-20 seconds for it to regenerate partially just to run again. When a game puts the player on a timer, every second counts. It is extremely stressful when the player would need to fight against the game to complete objectives. The concept is amazing, but the execution is just not there - yet. I'll post a positive review once there is more work done to Funnel Runners.
The worst possible friend slop you can imagine with the worst possible looting game you have ever played. It is fun for friend slop but once you actually try to play the game for what it is, it's lame. The tornado targets players and actively turns toward them. The game has nothing to do whatsoever with storm chasing and is purely a looting game with some wind.
Bought the game, tried it for 1 hour and didn't like it, got refunded. Maybe will try later if the game gets better.
If you are having issues with lag, turn off "AMD FSR Frame Generation". This AI frame generation garbage causes input lag, causing your cursor/camera to move at the speed of sludge. Also in it's current state this game has a lot of desync and audio issues. Example: My friends can't see items in the truck until I, the host, picks them up and throws them down. Sometimes even that doesn't fix crowbars being invisible for some people. Restarting game does not help. The game is fun with friends once you fix the settings and when things aren't invisible.
