About
Welcome to Funnel Runners, where you will have your first on-site deployment with APEX Storm Monitoring Services.
A high-priority F5 tornado is approaching, and we are counting on you (and up to 7 fellow friends) to collect data, scavenge necessary information, and, of course, survive.

The weather is your worst enemy here. Tornados and storms will spawn randomly, grow stronger over time, and tear the whole map apart. Buildings will collapse piece by piece, and items will no longer be found in destroyed areas, so you must adapt quickly. Be careful not to be swept up by the wind; you may not be found again.

In this mission, you can team up with 7 other players or tackle it solo. Share gadgets, split up to cover more ground, collect necessary information and items to fix the van before the situation turns bad.
With realistic graphics and a first-person perspective, the experience brings you close to every gust of wind, distant siren, and falling piece of debris.

Scavenge the collapsing city for scattered vehicle parts, fuel, and tools. These items will allow you to repair your van and help you survive the storm. Each playthrough features randomized environments, weather, items, and problems to solve on your vehicle. No playthrough will be the same.

My two friends and I bought this game and we were all welcomed by black screens and automatic shut downs... If this is not repaired within days we will refund. PS. New update appeared that fixed mentioned bugs, proper review on the way.
I had high hopes for the game but unfortunately it was quite a disappointing experience As other reviews have said, the game has a fantastic atmosphere. The problem is: That's it The gameplay is a poorly executed scavanging game at best, but for the most part, it feels more like a walk simulator. You only have 3 item slots and the items can take up 1 to 3 of them. This means, for example, if you have a defibrillator (uses all 3 slots) you can collect NOTHING more. Searching houses is also not complicated because you have everything lying around openly. No opening cabinets or anything like that. Weather events such as acid rain are unfortunately not interesting, but only annoying, because sometimes you can't do more than wait (unless you have an umbrella that takes up 2 slots). Conclusion: It seems as if they put a lot of work into the atmosphere but then forgot that they still need a game. The Tornardos (the actual hook of the game) tend to slip into the background in the course of the game and if you are in the van or an intact house, it is also relatively easy to deal with. I think the game clearly has potential that just wasn't used

Extremely bare bones. After one mission it gets very repetitive and boring. Join map, find parts, fix van, and that's literally it. For being a tornado game, there's almost no tornado action besides avoiding random twisters as you run around the town looking for parts. No tornado hunting or info gathering with tools or anything like that, it's only about finding van parts before the "F5" shows up (pretty much a battle royal circle, get it done in the time or you die) and that's it. Needs wayyy more to do. Refunded
I discovered this game through TikTok. I added it to my Steam wishlist and waited for release with a lot of hype, especially since I had no idea what to play anymore. I was already imagining all the hours of fun ahead. The game finally came out, I installed it, launched my first session, and at first it looked really promising. Watching houses, trees, and entire chunks of the environment get ripped apart and thrown into the air was genuinely impressive. I searched through the ruins, found some loot, and quickly ran into the first issue: the inventory is ridiculously small. Annoying, but not a dealbreaker. I carried everything back to the van piece by piece and started repairing it. Once I was done, I got in, closed the doors, started the engine, and thought: "This is awesome. I'm finally going to travel from town to town, survive, scavenge, upgrade my van, and explore a world destroyed by tornadoes." Fade to black. Session complete. That wasn't the end of the tutorial. That was the game. I've rarely felt this disappointed by a release. The worst part is that the game isn't terrible because of bugs, performance issues, or technical problems. It's disappointing because there is almost nothing here. The entire concept is built around an idea that sounds incredibly fun, but the actual gameplay loop is so shallow that it becomes repetitive almost immediately. The trailer, screenshots, and premise make it seem like you're about to embark on a long survival adventure. Instead, it feels like you've played through a proof of concept that was accidentally released as an Early Access title. The tornado destruction is cool for the first few minutes. Then you realize that's pretty much the entire experience. Loot. Carry loot. Repair van. Repeat. There is no depth, no meaningful progression, no real sense of exploration, and nowhere near enough content to justify the price in its current state. Every time the game started to make me think something bigger was about to happen, it simply ended or sent me back into the same repetitive loop. What's frustrating is that the potential is right there. A co-op survival scavenging game where you travel across dangerous areas while tornadoes tear everything apart sounds like an easy recipe for hundreds of hours of fun with friends. Instead, it feels like the foundation was built and then the rest of the house never showed up. I genuinely hope the developers can turn this around because the idea deserves better than this. Pros : Cool destruction effects Great concept The first 15 minutes make you believe you're about to play something amazing Cons : Tiny amount of content Extremely repetitive gameplay Barely any progression Feels more like a demo than an Early Access game Wastes a fantastic premise Recommended? No. If you're looking for hours of fun with friends, or expecting Lethal Company with tornadoes, keep looking elsewhere. You're going to spend more time imagining what this game could have been than actually enjoying what's currently there.
It needs more time to cook. Not enough to do and it's very RNG dependent. It's to much Lethal and not enough survival. I thought that you would have to fix up your van and then drive away from the F5 only for you to break down again and have to repair. But instead you get taken back to a menu like you are heading out on a new mission. Why? Survival horror with a dash of Lethal is much more fun for this theme. Seems like it's really missing out on something. The RNG sucks. When I need a battery we can't find any when I don't we find 5 in the first 5 minutes and they are in stupid location. Adds to much frustration to the game. Make it so were stripping cars and stealing fuel. Ditch the mini games for fixing the car and add the suspense of fixing it fast and needing to head out. Ditch "The company" nonsense. That's another game and it doesn't fit with this one. I'm still very interested to see how it progresses. This better not be another "were working on the game" then ditch us all in 6 months.
Can't carry much at the same time; One crowbar and a granola bar, OR 3 cans of pop, OR a flashlight and an umbrella (for example). Thats all you can carry at once. No backpacks. You spend the entire game checking each garage for same 4 or 5 things. No progression. Great effects and sounds. Gameplay eh
sucks to write this review because i genuinely believe the enviroment, the sound, atmosphere is so good. i really love that but beyond that everything is lacking, especially if you're someone hoping to play this as a solo player. for starters, it has a new comer/training difficulty that is absolute garbage. the game will hit you with a tutorial warning at the start but you might as well wipe your a ss with it because it doesn't do a single thing worthwhile of teaching you anything. you basically just aimlessly wonder around hoping to find stuff in hopes it's what you need and that the RNG gods have blessed you. every run I kept getting a request to find motor fuel, and I spent one round just spending the entire thing going literally house to house, garage to garage, to find nothing but just the same fcking coolest OVER AND OVER AND OVER. it's as if the game wanted me to truly just fill the van with coolant instead with how persistent the item kept reppaearing. The RNG/Balance doesn't feel like it's tailored made to the difficulty you choose and it makes searching/finding stuff extremely tedious and annoying. I'm sure the cope response could be made "just play with people dude, than it's easier to find everything" but that's not the point, first part being matchmaking that doesn't exist so you just gotta hope you jump into a random lobby that's full of people with mics and will actually play, so that's a big toss up, but the second thing being, if you don't want someone playing it solo, then just don't let me start it solo then, tell me x amount of people are required and then I would just refund the game immediately so I don't waste my time. When I finally did finish the easiest difficulty setting, I just felt completely burnt out and exhausted with how hard and time consuming it was just to get to finish line, for the easiest difficulty setting mind you. I imagine the other settings is literally just the same gameplay loop but with faster tornados and I can't even begin to imagine me doing the same tedious/boring/repetitive loop for 10-30mins over and over, just with more garbage to make things even more annoying. Again, it's a great game in terms of atmosphere, sound etc... but beyond that, this is truly a friendslop game of all time where with friends it'll probably be fine to yap while random stuff goes on in a discord chat, but playing with randoms is insufferable, and playing solo is basically impossible unless you just love to waste your time running house to house all by yourself hoping to find random things while also having only 3 slots in your inventory to hold things. Also because for some reason even if you do play solo, the dev still forces a inventory slot to be taken by a walkie talkie you'll never use, so that's cool I guess. I'll keep an eye on developments and see if it gets better since it's early access, but currently this game is one to not buy currently if you're a solo player, or someone who hates really repetitive game loops that only feel fun when played with friends.
would be nice if the game loaded, always on black screen when loading up, says ive played for 19 minutes but ive not even managed to load to main screen, tried all troubleshooting routes and still isnt loading
